Barwin did very well as a part-time player last year. Unfortunately every depth chart I've looked at so far has Barwin as the backup at RDE to Mario Williams, with journeyman Antonio Smith as the starting LDE. In six years in the NFL, Smith has just 19 sacks and a puny 159 tackles. Barwin clearly has the talent to be much better than Smith; it'll be pathetic if he's forced, even as a second round draft choice, to have an extended "racial apprenticeship."
