I watched the full fight last night again on dailymotion.I think we are getting a little too spoiled with our fighters winning almost all the time. I love it!

Maxy Pad Kellerman has vagina juice instead of blood flowing through him! She could Not let the other guys say nothing good about Joe. When they say for instance, Calzaghe lands to the body, Maxy Pad has to chime in with,"nah, to the elbows. I havent seen any good punches, even downstairs.

When Joe hit the canvas, after the forearm, they all creamed there dirty panties! OHH hes hurt bad! Much worse than against Hopkins, he mightNOT make it through this one though! Then when Joe got right back on him, clearly ok, Hes fighting back when he Should Be Running!

Jeez, P-NutLane, that was the most accurate description of Keller-woman and the gang on HBO I've heard yet.

That little caste wimp really is a know-nothing. How does one become an "expert" if one picks every fight WRONG? If you guys remember, this unfunny-clown was the first host of the reprehensible "Around the Horn." If you think the limp-wristed Tony Reali is bad, you should have heard Kellerman....he was the perfect ESPN loud-mouth jock-boy. "Maxy Pad" is a perfect name for that mini-wuss.

I rewatched the fight again, it was amazing to see a white man "toy with," dominate, and taunt a respected black fighter.

Supposedly "enlightened" people who laud black fighters for showboating and taunting opponents but in turn despise such behavior from white fighters are ironically the biggest racists of all.

They are basically saying:

"Such behavior is acceptable in blacks because they are animals who shouldn't be held to the same standards as humans. They exist merely to perform as clowns for our entertainment. When whites do it, it's classless and animalesque; when blacks do it, it's cute and funny because it's great when the step-and-fetch-its act silly."

They'd never notice this hateful, racist attitude in themselves of course, because they're too easy drinking wine coolers and NOT working out (ever) and accusing whites of racism for at times behaving in the same manner as their court jester house-negroes. It's really, truly sad -- in a world where progress is inevitable and they see THEMSELVES as paragons of virtue and enlightened thinking, they are ironically the most backward and tasteless while those they bash endlessly are the ones who champion equality the most.

After round 8 Jones tells his corner, with frustration, and defeat in his voice, "Im tryin to get him, butI just cant get him".

Joe truly did squash the noise with this great win! He made Roy look like a bum, anobody. He deserves full credit for his greatness.

Lets say they fought 10 years ago, when they were 29 and 26. I think Joe would have beaten him badly then too. He is not near the man he use to be power wise. Jones Jr , on the other hand is just as powerful as he ever was. No, the best argument that can be made is that MAYBE, just maybe Jones would have been quick enough, back then,to land 7or 8 more punches a round than he did in this bout. He has never fought anyboby like Joe, and it shoewd. He couldnt handle Joe now, and hewouldnt handle him then. Calzaghe might have even stopped him back then with a KO. In fact, this fight should have been stopped! TKO style. Thereare buttwo reasons left to explain why one would not give Joe the credit he has earned. Racism, and/or inferiority complex, depending on the race of the hater.

Kellerwoman is a waste. Just as he was saying Joe wasn't connecting, he threw a flurry and nailed Jones with a great hook to the body. Lampley was more fair to Joe,and Stewart was gushing about Joes abilities the entire fight. They should yank Maxi from the telecasts. He is as worthless as Kornheiser is on MNF.

Joe had greater stamina, much quicker reflexes, threw very fast rapid fire punches, and combos, and was slippery, and evasive, detly moving in and out of range all night long. He got clobbered flush in the nose with a forearm thatwould have kept most guys on the canvass, but he pops up, shakes it off and gets stronger. Yet, Jones is supposed to be the athletic freak.

I enjoyed round three the most. He did it all and put on a display.

At least Jones showed respect for Calzaghe and stated he "is the best pound for pound fighter in the world."

I will also give credit to Jones for stating that. But, and there always is a but, I am still glad to have seen Calzaghe mock and torment him in the ring. Every night, and I mean EVERY night on televison where football highlights are broadcasted, some black is showboating and taunting someone. For them it is ritual. RJJ was perhaps the worst offender of all time and that is why Calzaghe did it. Do any of you remember the Calzaghe/Kessler fight? Calzaghe behaved like a perfect gentleman in winning and never mocked Kessler at all. Why? Because he respects his fellow white champion warrior too much to do so. Calzaghe has been in this business a long time and I am sure he has seen many, many reviling incidents of blatant uncivil behavior from behind the scenes.
Calzaghe's taunting was civil compared to Frank Shamrock's taunting of Phil Baroni. Shamrock made a I will put you to sleep signal when he had Baroni wobbly and then toyed with him to torture him. Also Ali did this for years with opponents. Both were much worse than Joe's mind games.

If Max Kellerboy loves the black so much maybe he can share an apartment with the Harlem Hammer, I hear he's a killer roommate! Sorry that one was in bad taste.

On a side note, whats up with the star of David on Zab Judah's trunks? Is he Killerman's replacement brother?Edited by: WHITE NOISE

There were two white guys during the 90's that could have beat Roy Jones. They are Calzaghe and Dariusz Michalczewski . Roy never wanted to fight Calzaghe or Dariusz during that time because he knew what he was up against.

Speaking of Dariusz I got a dvd with his two fights with Richard Hall recently and they were not even close. Don't listen to those Roy Jones fanboys that say it was a robbery or anything. Online scoring had it 9 rounds to 1 for Dariusz. The judges had it like 8-2. There were only two rounds you could really give Hall and they were close as hell. Even though he dominated the fight when he jumped on to the corner to raise his hands he was booed heavily but when Hall did the same he was cheered. I thought that was strange. Maybe they were impressed with his heart and courage he showed. I have most of Dariusz' title fights on dvd but was missing these two. Don't listen to those RJJ fanboys Dariusz but on a clinic. Round 4 of the first Michalczewski-Hall fight was Hagler-Hearns like. Michalczewski could have definitely beaten Roy back then. Shame it didn't happen

www.dailymotion.com DailyMotion still has the whole fight up. You'll just have to find parts 7-9 on the search page, as they don't show up in the "Related Videos" section. Best of all, the commentary is English, not those HBO morons.

I was just looking up Michalczewski yesterday. I have no doubt he would have beat Roy. The Tiger would have knocked out Roy before anyone else had, and I think Roy knew it.

This was a masterful performance by Calzaghe and overall, a very good fight. Unlike Hopkins, Jones made every attempt to win the fight instead of just trying to survive and I think that is why there was mutual respect between the two after the fight.

Not much left for Joe to prove and if he retires he should go down as one of the all time greats.

I'd have to say someone like Harry Greb, Sugar Ray Robinson or Willie Pep would be ahead of Joe. But he's easily one of the top 5 fighters of the past decade.

An all time P4P rank is not very meaningfull because of differences in eras and how individuals react when they face each other. But I would say that for a fighter to stay undefeated for his entire career, or most of his career, he would have to be very, very versatile. The more skills a fighter has -the more ways he has to win. Joe is very, very versatile.

I wish I had seen this fight! Good win for an all-time great. It's ashame he got knocked down with a cheap fore-arm though. And I saw the Hopkins knockdown and Joe was pushed down in that one. The naysayers will be able to throw that at Calzaghe, "but the two black super-humans knocked him down ahah!"
smiley11.gif

Calzaghe should agree to fight Hopkins again to end his career. Forget Pavlik, he lost to Hopkins, fight Hopkins again and get a unanamous decision! Then there will be no naysayers!

No.

Hopkins shouldn't even be allowed to box anymore for his racist comments. If a white boxer said the same thing, they'd be taken to the woodshed. Calzaghe is right in denying Hopkins a rematch. Hopkins should never earn another cent off Calzaghe's name.

I agree, no rematch. The only two viable opponents are Dawson and Johnson. Or he could just retire, which would be perfectly fine, too. He's earned it.

Oh, and congratulations, Joe!

I want to bump this post. Direct link to video found at the site.

I've seen this match 3 times. It may be the most enjoyable sporting event I've ever seen, because of the Caste perspective.

Some observations:

Notice Hopkins in the audience demonstrating his throat slashing gesture then pointing to the ring. He picked Jones to win, so I'm sure it was intended for Joe.

Jones had NEVER been cut in his entire career. JC hammered him hard enough and often enough to do what no one else had.

Maxi was gloating when Joe went down and said, " At this point of the fight Roy Jones is making Calzaghe look like a washed up Felix Trinidad".

He also said," Jones is much quicker than Joe." Ha ha. What fight was he watching? Even the other announcers said Joe was quicker and beating Jones to the punch.

After totally dominating Jones Maxi began to whine saying, " Clearly Jones is not as good as he once was." Bla bla bla.

Some are saying a younger Roy Jones would have destroyed Joe. They make it sound as though Jones was way over the hill, about 90 years old, and brought into the ring in a wheel chair. Pathetic!

Joe is not spring chicken himself, and certainly was faster, quicker, stronger, and a harder puncher before he broke his hand several years ago. He postponed his Lacy fight because of continuing troubles with his hand.

It has been said that RJ was not the same fighter he was before being KO'd earlier in the decade. Well, the same could be said for JC, who was knocked down for the first time in his career in 2003. Since then he has been knocked down 3 more times. In other words, Roy Jones was not as good as he was youger. Well, the same could be said of Joe. All things considerd JC would have beaten RJ8 years, six years, or two years ago. Joe didn't just squeak by, he totally outclassed Jones.

Joe is the MAN!! 46-0.He just wins.

Oh, one more thing. When RJ was overheard as saying, " I try to hit em, but can't hit em." He said something afterwards that was hard for me to decipher. Sounded like," I hit em hard, he hit hard, harder." Anyone catch that? I can't make it out.

Edit: No rematch for Hopkins. Screw him! Let him go down in history as losing to that White Boy.

You guys are ALL correct. The answer is no. And when Joe says no its no. Hopkins really is pathetic as he has nothing else to live for but to box. When his career is officially over he will really be lost.
