A little over a week ago, Greg Rosenthal wrote an article titled "No excuses for Gabbert after Jaguars draft move." I posted and linked the article and hypothetically asked if they would say the same thing about RG III. Today, Greg Rosenthal answers that question with his new article on NFL.com, posted below. (Another example of the double standard that exists with the media.)

Is there enough talent around Robert Griffin III?

RG3 was the Redskins draft. They didn't pick again until the No. 71, and the next two picks were a backup guard and a backup quarterback. (A perfectly defensible decision.) Help isn't coming for Griffin from this draft. You simply can't count on finding starters so deep in the draft.

Washington did all of their roster building in free agency and during the 2011 draft. How quickly we forget.
Just a year ago, we heard a lot of talk about the new, patient Redskins. They drafted 12 players overall and nine made the Week 1 roster, including three seventh-round selections. The development of this class will go a long way towards determining how Griffin's rookie season is viewed. There are potential second-year defensive stars (Ryan Kerrigan, Jarvis Jenkins) to keep games close and solid offensive role players (Leonard Hankerson, Roy Helu, and Evan Royster).
Griffin's receiver group is a little weird, but it is also deep. Hankerson, Santana Moss, and free agent pickups Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan make a solid foursome. Tight end Fred Davis may be the group's most explosive player, and Chris Cooley remains on the roster. (At least for now.)
The running back position and offensive line are far more questionable. Mike Shanahan always manages to find some protection at tailback from odd places, but he's pushing his luck with Helu, Royster, and sixth-round pick Alfred Morris. Don't be surprised if a veteran is added.
Add it all up, and the Redskins depth chart doesn't look complete just yet. It also doesn't look as barren and desperate as it did a year ago. It's a transitional year. Griffin has some talent to work with, especially at receiver and tight end.
If Griffin inspires his teammates half as much as he inspires the media in Washington, he should do just fine.

[h=1]The non-stop media worship continues.

RG3's rocket arm leaves Hankerson's gloves in tatters[/h]

The Cleveland Browns were never serious about Robert Griffin III, according to a report this week. As the story goes, they viewed him as "too small" and "eager to show how fast he was."

They forgot about his arm.

RG3 now resides in our nation's capital, the starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins. If his size and need for speed were ever questioned, we have solid evidence the man (and his loyal backup) can deliver the ball.

"Out here grinding," Redskins wideout Leonard Hankerson posted on his Instagram page. "This is what #RG3 and #Kirk (Cousins) did to my glove."
Mike Shanahan has seen this before. A mildly famous former quarterback of his, John Elway, was legendary for the pain he inflicted on his receivers' palms. Elway threw with force, and it helped Shanahan and the Denver Broncos win two Super Bowls.
RG3: Too small, too fast for Cleveland; just right for the quarterback-hungry faithful of Washington, D.C.

Robert Griffin III is the new Brett Favre

By Gregg Rosenthal

We can't write enough about Robert Griffin III. At least not to satisfy your demand.
Dan Hanzus commented on the RG3 hype machine Monday, which has been in overdrive since the NFL Scouting Combine. The Redskins' rookie is starting to inspire Paul Bunyan-like tales from his teammates. Jerseys are flying off the shelves. Fans are detailing their cars with his name....

They are both great quotes

I can already smell a lot of people pointing out that Tim Tebow was already the new Favre. But Tebow is far from a great quote. More importantly ...
Griffin can be an elite player
This will all fade if Griffin can't deliver on the field. Unlike Tebow, however, Griffin has the skill set to be a franchise quarterback. As a potential top-10 quarterback in a football-mad market in the most visible division in the league, Griffin will get a chance to shine on the big stage right away.
Style of play
This can't be overlooked. Both Griffin and Favre had unique skill sets. Playmakers get commercials, not possession receivers. Griffin's ability to make highlights should keep him in the spotlight during the season.

Mr. Rosenthal would get his ass beat if he says this in any bar in Wisconsin. LOL comparing Griffin to Favre is a joke, Favre is a legend with MVPs and Super Bowl appearances to back it up. White rookie Qbs get ridiculed constantly while Griffin gets compared to arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game? Its obvious the media views the black man as some sort of cyborg and it disgusts me. In fact I'm going to go hit my punching bag been a long, frustrating day.

Washington D.C. was the perfect landing spot for Mr. Griffin as there is currently another negro in a high exposure position who similarly received endless hype before his first day on the job there as well. This negro was so magical some people wept when they met him or heard him speak. Others compared him to Jesus. Will Mr. Griffin's hype rise to this level in the National Cesspool, C(r)apitol Hill?

He is vastly overrated. I smell another Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf in the wind. Plus the guy looks like a turd with teeth. Im sure his mud shark fiance' really digs him for his looks.

Exactly WDB. At best, he'll be a flash in the pan like fellow overhyped black quarterback Vince YOung. Neither RG3 or sCam can hold Favre's jock on their best day (& Favre's worst)! These 2 bit, jock-sniffing hack "writers" are just hardcore caste lackeys.

Comparing him to Favre when he hasn't even played a single down of professional football yet? Good. I hope they continue with these irrational and outlandish comparisons and expectations as they are building him so very high that the only way he can go is down.

[h=1]Brett Favre would take Robert Griffin III first

By Gregg Rosenthal
[/h]

It was the great debate of the Spring: Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III.
We knew all along that the Colts would take Luck, but a surprising amount of NFL observers grew to like RGIII over Luck. Consider Brett Favre to be in that group.
Favre spoke to NFL Network's Deion Sanders on Friday and said he's a Griffin fan.
"Griffin, he's smaller, but if I was starting a team, I'd probably of went with RG3 just because, if they can't protect you, you got to protect yourself," Favre said.
We can't help but agree with Favre on this one. We also happen to share his opinion of Cam Newton: "That dude is good."

There have been rumors that we could get this sort of analysis on a regular basis if Favre took a broadcasting job. At this stage of his life, Favre sounds happier to be on his tractor in Mississippi. (Yes, according to us media, he never gets off that tractor.)
And don't worry, Scott Hanson: There are no indications that we will have to fire up FavreWatch again anytime soon

Favre's trying the "class act" route and delivering the caste-speak to keep his options open for an NFL analyst position. If I was him, I'd retire to that farm & tell the caste ma$ters to stick it. I assume he's financially set, but that ego of his may want to stay in (some variant of) the "spotlight".

Kim Kardashian zeroes in on Redskins' Robert Griffin III

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will be hunted by dangerous foes throughout his rookie campaign. Jason Pierre-Paul, DeMarcus Ware and Jason Babin are enough to keep you up at night, but none pose the threat of a man-eating minx from the hills of Los Angeles. Kim Kardashian has RG3 on the radar. This sordid tale comes to us from Jack Burditt, the executive producer and writer of "30 Rock," who recently visited "The Rich Eisen Podcast," which you can listen to here. Kardashian was on the "30 Rock" set in April to film the season finale of the NBC sitcom. RG3 was on hand to watch the taping just hours after being selected by Washington. Going down a road we've traveled before, Kim took one look at the pro athlete and was intrigued. "She sat next to me, while we were watching the show on the monitor," Burditt said, "and RG3 is a few seats down, and during the commercial break, she starts asking me questions about him. Like, 'Now, he's a football player, right?' I'm like, yeah, yeah. (Kim says,) 'And he just ... something big happened, right?' I'm like, well, yeah, he just was the No. 2 overall pick tonight. (She asks) 'And what team?' ... Washington. (She asks) 'What's Washington?' ... Redskins. She goes, 'I don't know much about football, but, so what's his deal?' And I'm thinking, 'You stay away from him. This is a nice young man.' " Burditt warned Eisen: "Her inner alarm was going off." One word for Mr. RG3 (who happens to be a happily engaged man): Run. Good stuff, as always, by Eisen. You can download the entire podcast at NFL.com/richeisen or subscribe on iTune

She is such a major league harlot. She will never find any (true) happiness in this old world by playing the wh0re. She (like everyone) needs Jesus Christ in her life to find that real peace. I hope someone's tried to share the Gospel with this sad young lady.

[h=1]Not sure what this extortion attempt could be about. Maybe RGIII is on the down-low. He did endorse sodomites last month.

Cops arrest man, say he tried to extort Robert Griffin III[/h]While the NFL Rookie Symposium was taking place in Ohio on Monday, a situation was developing in Texas that illustrates what kind of dangers incoming rookies face. KWTX-TV first reported that former Baylor basketball player Richard Hurd was in jail in Waco, Texas, after being arrested for allegedly trying to extort money from Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III. A McLennan County Jail spokeswoman said Hurd was taken into custody Friday and was released earlier Monday.
There was no police report available, as it is an FBI matter. The police also wouldn't confirm Hurd's next court date.
Hurd played on the Baylor basketball team from 2004 to 2007, and Griffin just left the school for the NFL, where he was the No. 2 overall pick by the Redskins two months ago.
UPDATE: According to records obtained by the Waco Tribune after Hurd's arraignment Monday, Hurd tried to shake down Griffin's manager, Ben Dogra, for money. (Dogra is identified as "B.D." in the affidavit)....

Don't really care about Griffin. Hoping he falls flat on his face in the NFL leaving all the DC DWFs confused as to why their black quarterback failed when everyone said he was a sure thing.

Really, only issues he could be extorting him with, are being a homosexual or being a heavy drug user. I simply can't think of anything else that would "embarrass" him?
It has to be a Black version of this: Warning there is some R rated graphic sexuality here....

Of course our day would not be complete without our daily update on RGIII. I honestly don't know the last day there was not an article on NFL.com about him. I started this thread after about 2 weeks of non-stop articles. I did not think it would keep going this long.

Robert Griffin III believed Browns would draft him

It was a scene out of an alternate reality: Robert Griffin III, darting around the practice field at the Cleveland Browns facility in June.

It was nothing more than a "Play 60" event, packed into the itinerary of this week's NFL Rookie Symposium, but the rookie quarterback once felt this would be home.
"Once I declared for the draft, Cleveland was a place I thought I would be just because they had the most firepower when it came to draft picks and tradability," RG3 told The Plain Dealer on Tuesday.

NFL MVP for RGIII is obviously an afterthought at this point. Lets just get the ballots ready for the hall of fame. With credentials like this why should we wait.

"He's as fast as Michael Vick but he can make all the throws that Peyton Manning can make, and he can make all the reads Tom Brady can make", Morgan told Ontaponline.com. "He's got the whole package."

Is that why he was sacked 3 times against the Bears and had a fumble, all in less than a half of game time? The point must again be made, any QB who relies on his feet is just compensating for his inability to read defenses.

Here is exihibit A why I along with others here savaged Butt Favre a couple of years ago. Man, why can't he promote Luck over this affelet. He is retired. Nothing to lose except surrounding himself with affelets who speak ebonics on Sunday, if he chose to go that route. Disgusting.!

The author kisses Griffin's ass a lot, but this article does point out that Shanahan is just using the bulk of the Art Briles offense.

The problem here is that the NFL is uniquely susceptible to this style of offense. With the quarterbacks and receivers off limits to contact and with the removal of the holding penalty from the NFL rulebook, this offense cannot be stopped if executed properly. Just like Briles's Baylor teams, the only way to beat them is to outscore them. The NFL had better figure that out pretty quickly or we're going to have to endure "Super Bowl MVP Robert Griffin" a few months from now.
