This video is good for a laugh. It is the highlights of yesterday's game between #7 ranked Plano, a white surburban school, and Dallas Carter, an all black inner city school. There are a couple of highlights of Rex Burkhead rushing for TDs.

Plano 42, Carter 7

Oh man, that team (Carter) got pissed-on royally.

The Carter "quarterback" getting nailed at 1:54 was classic. The clips of Carter's band members doing jungle dances was equally entertaining.

Dance, Mr. Bojangles, dance!

i had the pleasure of watching Rex play on Fox Sports Southwest tonight. he's a hell of a back.

superb vision, excellent quickness, breaks a lot of tackles, above average receiver out of the backfield, and he always falls forward when he's finally dragged down. he has all the tools to play at the next level.

And I'm sure the powers-that-be will do everything in their power to ruin this kid's promising career. I hope he has a raincoat that is crap-proof, because its going to be raining sh*t on him for the next four years of his college career. Things are great for him right now and he probably feels like he's on top of the world, but then again, so does everyone in high school. I seriously hope he can handle the verbal abuse and degridation that he's going to face if he wants to start at tailback in college. I just don't want to see him get "forced" into becoming a fullback or worse, not playing much at all.

Hang on Rex, its going to be a bumpy ride.

Did you see little jiggy fly dance impressive wasn't it LOL. If only they could play football against white teams like they can dance then we would have something to worry about. Burkhead will be a star at the next level. I hope he goes to a school like Nebraska or even Texas AM that will give him a chance to shine on saturdays. Edited by: White Power

Carter is a way overrated program. I saw them in person in the 90s and they had their rear ends handed to them by mainly white Evangel Christian in Shreveport, Louisiana.

I have had the pleasure of watching Rex play in his 44th varsity 5A texas football game Thursday night. If there is a proto-typical young man you would expect to have success at a major D1 school it would be him.

Virtually all of his 40+ D1 offers are at RB. He clearly can run, catch and block which is a trifecta of skills needed in the college world today.

You can talk about his accomplishments on the field which include back to back all purpose games of 376 and 313 yards against quality 5A teams this yearbut that doesn't tell the whole story.

He is without a doubt the hardest worker in practice and conditioning not to mention a very good student.

He has set the bar so high that when he has a 150 yard night, it's average and not talked about much.

On top of that his effort that he brings to games which is tremendous, is only over shadowed by the respect and appreciation of fans and coaches on both sides of the field. At Temple (big HS Football town) a couple of weeks ago when he tore them up for over 300 yards their fans came over to congratulate him and have pictures taken with him. How often does that happen in today's sports world?

And after a big game he usually gives credit to his teammates.

A special young man, athlete and all.

The vast majority of White players usually do just that.

Unlike another race of "affaletes" that will remain nameless.

I watched Burkhead play on fox sports SW,and he was the best damn player on ther feild by far. The announcers could not talk about him enough, and they were praising Burkhead. Also they said that he over 40 D1 scholarship offers all for the running back Position. He was the star of the night, and maybe the best damn high school football player in the entire country. He reminds me of Ronnie Brown runs with speed and power never goes down on first contact, and is hell to tackle. Where ever Burkhead goes he will be a star.

Burkhead had another great game last night with 267 all purpose yds (202 yds rushing, 65 yds receiving). Plano is undefeated and will make a deep run into the playoffs thanks to Rex.

Burkhead had a huge game last night, 33 rushes for 258 yds, 5 rec for 54 yds, 3 rushing TDs, and 1 receiving TD. That vaults him into the second leading rusher in the DFW area with 1327 yds and the area leader in scoring with 25 TDs for the season.Edited by: SteveB

Love this kid! He is so versatile and seems not to be in any hurry to commit. Hopefully he observes where he will be used properly! Best of luck to him!

Plano lost in the second round of the 5A playoffs, but Burkhead finishes the season 5th in the DFW area in rushing (1762 yds) and 2nd in scoring (35 TDs).

He is taking his time choosing a college (with over 40 D1 offers) because he is insisting on getting a shot at RB at the next level. Let's hope he makes a good choice.Edited by: SteveB

Burkhead is somehow ranked the 58th WR by Scout.com. That is completely ludicrous; he is a top 20 RB!. Of his interest schools I'd say Texas Tech, Texas A&M or Stanford would give him the best shot. I thought Kansas was on his list too, but don't see it on Scout.com. This guy needs to continue to be vocal about where he wants to play and whatever he does he shouldn't choose Alabama!

Rex Burkhead just committed to Nebraska! What do you guys think? Nebraska has never had a white RB for as long as I can remember; they've been coal black with their skill players for a long time. I think he should have chosen Stanford, Louisville (they've ran Bolen a fair bit this year) or even pass happy Texas Tech from amongst his choices. I don't know; Nebraska's recruiting hasn't been as hot lately so maybe he'll work his way into playing time in the backfield before too long.

Huskers Snag Second Texas Stud: Rex Burkhead is N

Blankman_tiny by Blankman on Dec 15, 2008 8:59 PM CST in Recruiting

For those of you who haven't been playing "Nebraska Recruiting: The Home Game", a little bit about Nebraska's newest commit Rex Burkhead:

Burkhead's running style seems to change up given the situation. In some cases he reminds me of the days of Mike Rozier in the way he seems to run with abandon that makes you wonder how he doesn't fall down on his own and is deceptively quick. It's that sort of speed where if everyone's running at a blazing pace side by side they don't necessarily look THAT fast, but Burkhead possesses speed, vision and hands which is exactly what the current trend in college football points to.

Rex can switch things up in a hurry, though and once he snags the ball on a quick dump off pass can either do damage or with a properly placed hit take it to the house. Regardless of what running style Burkhead chooses to initiate at any given time, it's powerful and effective. I look at Burkhead as this year's Sam McGuffie except he doesn't jump over trash cans and will likely be far more effective when he plays as a freshman and yes I do believe he can hurdle a redshirt.

Rex's Plano High School team managed to get to the second round of the Texas Class 5A Division I playoffs before a loss to Euless Trinity knocked Burkhead's mindset from high school football into the next level and he'll be playing it as a Cornhusker. This is a good thing. Don't believe me? Burkhead rushed for 1,762 yards, snagged 42 passes for 594 yards and scored 33 touchdowns during his senior season. He's also logged 74 all-purpose touchdowns and 4,560 rushing yards since his sophomore season to compliment his 1,155 receiving yards in that time span as well.

Have a look at what the 5' 11" 190-pound APB can do (He's the guy who looks really good all the time):

Plano running back commits to NU

From Staff Reports

December 15, 200

Courtesy of the Dallas Morning News
Plano running back Rex Burkhead provided his verbal commit to Nebraska Tuesday night.

It's Nebraska's biggest recruiting coup this side of quarterback Cody Green.

Plano, Texas running back Rex Burkhead offered his verbal committment Tuesday night after an in-home meeting with NU defensive ends coach John Papuchis, two recruiting sites are reporting.

Burkhead, a 5-foot-10, 190-pounder who looked closely at offers from Texas A&M and Stanford and had offers from Texas Tech, Michigan, California and Auburn, among others, is projected to play running back in college, although he could into a receiver role in some sets. He had 1,762 rushing yards and 594 receiving yards this season for Plano, which advanced to Texas state playoffs, but lost to Euless Trinity, home of NU's other running back recruit Tray Robinson.

Message board chatter had Burkhead getting a take-it-now-or-lose-it-forever offer from Texas after he took a visit there, but that was not confirmed.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

I don't care about the historic of a program, it's all about the coach in place, and Bo Pelini was at LSU when they had Hester as their feature back, plus last-year starter Marlon Lucky is graduating, he could get a shot at playing time as a freshman, good luck Rex!

I think that this is a good pick for Rex. Nebraska started Josh Davis about 5 years ago at RB and have been white friendly until Callahan got there. From everything that I read, Burkhead insisted that he play RB and wasn't interested in being moved to another position.

Well it sounds like you guys have a decent opinion of coach Pelini; that's good to hear. I didn't know he was at LSU when Hester was there. Nebraska also has white Nate Swift at WR who I forgot about.

Rex Burkhead, to me, seems like a slightly bigger version of Wes Welker playing HB; instead of WR. I had always said that if Wes Welker were black he'd be another Brian Westbrook type RB in the NFL instead of a WR.

Great News! Nebraska Had Todd Peterson as Well as Swift! at wr.Not to mention one of my all time favorite runners, Eric Crouch who pretty much was a runningback playing qb. Excited for Burkhead, with Sharp, Blankenship, and Logan Dold all playing rb in the big 12!

Rex comes in at a low 21st ranked RB in the NFLdraftscout.com early release of the 2013 draft class rankings. Expect him to move up quickly though at Nebraska in their well designed and run offense; if he plays as a True-Freshman that is; I think he will be better right away than Castille and Helu with his skill-set!

Yeah, I watch almost all the NEbraska games this year, and Helu and Castille aren't that special, so maybe Rex will get a chance to play this year.

While I think Burkhead definitely has a better skill-set than Helu already; In a fair world Helu would still probably start the season as the starter unless Burkhead "significantly outperforms" Helu and shows a better work ethic in spring and summer practices and scrimmages to top it off.

I just checked and Helu averaged 6 yards a carry last year which is very impressive and on-field production is quite important in evaluations. Predicting the circumstances: I would personally start Rex with a Marlon Lucky type role next year if I was Pelini and let him move past Helu to #1 RB if he outperforms Helu during the season (which I predict he would); that would get the DWFs and media off Pelini's back.

I mean some idiots may have even questioned racism last year just b/c Pelini started two whites at WR. Only in America could they suspect racism in a 66% white/13% black country for starting two "productive" white WRs; but never do they question the opposite even when the blacks are unproductive.

Here is an example of the pure racism white football players are up against. Pelini may have to play it safe; because all most people in America see is race when it comes to sports:
