Yea, if white guys put up good numbers at the combine and get some sort of national recognition its hard to deny them there rightful place. Unfortunatley it does not happen often enough because these great white athletes are usually sniffed out before hand by the system.

I think 40 times are somehow doctored by the electronic clocks somehow. World Class sprinters have rarely run under 4.4. I think that the forty yard split of Donovan Bailey's record breaking 100 meter was 4.43 or something like that. That was on track!

Don Bebee ran a 4.2 supposedly second to only Bo Knows and Deion the primetime show off who ran 4.19. Leonard is going to have to run under 4.5 to get a look at HB, I completly agree with that. If he doesn't it will make life easier for coaches to make him soley a blocking back as he already was becoming at RU this year. The question is, can he still do it? When he ran a 4.47 at the Nike combine out of H.S he was 25 lbs lighter. I've noticed the speed black RB's seem to have to run to get consideration for carries in the NFL is mid 4.6's, the median is probably low 4.5's for starting tailbacks. Hmm...affirmative action in sports is stronger than in the business world. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=18 17&sport=1Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

I couldn't get the scout.com profile. I like the scout website better than rivals although they are both huge caste zealots. When I got into Leonard's scout profile a couple months ago, they had Leonard's 40 listed at 4.47 coming out of H.S and unlike Rivals had HB listed as a possible position for him for college recruiters. Rivals only had him listed as an OLB...ridiculus!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

It happened to Vardell. He was 240 and did a 4.4 at the combines and Cleveland went nuts and drafted him in the top ten. It would take that for Leonard to be given a true shot. Also Leonard has a better pedigree at running back then Vardell did. In college Tommy was never really a feature back.

The difference between sprint times and 40 times are the reaction time. 40 times are measured on first movement, sprint times on firing of the starter's pistol. The best sprinters have a reaction time of around 0.15 to 0.20 sec, so Bailey's 40 time would be around 4.23 sec.

Although electronic 40 times are more accurate than hand timed 40's, there are ways to cheat the electronic system. I wrote about how we used to cheat the electronic system when I was in college in this thread last year.

Whatever happened to Vardell?

This is from the "Justin Armour" thread:

I enjoyed watching "Touchdown" Tommy Vardell
run the ball for the Cardinal in the early '90s. He was a first round draft pick of the Browns in '92 and ran for 644 yards from the fullback position in '93. O.J. Simpson referred to Vardell as a "future Pro Bowler" during one NFL broadcast that season. Then he blew his knee out in '94 and was pretty much finished, though he was the Lions' goal line specialist for a couple seasons.

Interesting stuff in the thread, I thought though that at the NFL Combine, there is no start pad at the beginning (I could be wrong). I thought that it is laser beam activated when moving from the starting point and deactivated at the finish, and I thought it was done indoors to prevent wind aiding. I also think I heard, that the track surface is slower...I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the NFL Combine routine b/c I'm facinated by this subject. Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Agreed, I think this site was stretching it giving certain teams C grades at the start of the season on weaker discrimination. The lessor Caste teams like the Colts, Lions, Patriots and maybe Denver are still huge caste zealots! I'd give em a D at best.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Well with about a minute to go in the game,Brian Leonard has 11 touches for 47 yards.Ray Rice got the bulk of the opportunites with 24 rushes. The good news is that Rutgers wins in a blow out.The final score was 37-10! I just wish that they could have let Brian run more since it was his last game in college. He deserved to get at the ball at least 20 times since the game was a blowout.Oh well.We all know how the Caste System goes.Let's hope that Leonard gets alot of attempts in the all star game and blows them away in the nfl combine.Congrats to Brian Leonard on a great career although it could have ended alot better if he was allowed to be the star running back as he should have been.

lumsdenpower, there are no white friendly teams.

Eh, there are a few that are "borderline" White-friendly. Not EVERY team in the league has a "100% hate Whitey at all costs" policy. Here's a few:

-New England, for one (One of the Whitest teams,
that has a White runner, Heath Evans, who does
get some carries.)

-Indianapolis (possibly the Whitest team in the
NFL, led by the best quarterback on Earth.)

-And, as crazy as it sounds...New Orleans (they went
from being one of the blackest and WORST teams in
the league, to being much WHITER, and having a
winning season, in less than a year.)

So, there is still SOME hope. The entire NFL doesn't look like Grambling University...YET.Edited by: Ground Fighter

It'll be interesting to see the direction the Saints go next year. On the brink of being an annual contender, will they go for overpaid "athletes" at positions such as LB? Will their O-line improve at all? I am very curious..

According to today's DraftDaddy draft blog, Leonard is down to 224 pounds, in order "to better project as a RB." We shall see.

DraftDaddy also has an upcoming interview with Brian.

That is right around the weight that Luke Staley played at.Man do I hope that he gets a legitimate shot at running back in the NFL.I have to admit,my chances of winning the Powerball are better than the league giving him a shot to be a starter.I really hope I'm wrong because he could be special if he is allowed to start and develop over a couple of years. It would be nice to see the Lions take him as long as Mike Martz stays there.Martz would probably tell the other coaches to give him a shot.

Unless Brian goes to a team with an all white line and a white FB, the
second level of the caste system will kick in. Blacks have made it
clear that they "try harder" for other blacks. I'm sure the unofficial
black players caucus will never stand for a white RB.

I don't know about a "running back", a feature back maybe, especially if he supplants a spoiled selfish one. Would anybody care if he was a 2nd or 3rd string back on a team?Edited by: white is right

The most the NFL will let Brian be in terms of running the ball would be a 3rd down back type. Meaning staying in the pocket in help block, catches in the flat, and the occasion carry.
