Hillis is probably done for the season.

The Browns have already ruled Peyton Hillis (hamstring) out for Week 11.



It's the second straight Monday Hillis has been ruled out, which suggests he's nowhere near a return. Coach Pat Shurmur would only allow at his press conference that he "thinks" Hillis will play again this season. This will be the fifth consecutive game Hillis has missed, and sixth of the year. Backup Montario Hardesty (calf) has yet to be ruled out, but didn't sound close when Shurmur spoke last Wednesday. For now, consider Chris Ogbonnaya likely to make his third straight start.

It's probably better for Hillis to not play again this year unless he's truly 100%. The last thing Peyton needs is to go into FA while recovering from another torn hamstring. Look how long Houston WR Andre Johnson has been out with his hammy pulled, it's just not an injury you can play through.

They will probably play him the last few games hoping they can get something for him. I would like to see him go back to Denver. Imagine running that offense with Hillis at runningback.

I'd love to see Hillis and Tebow plowing over affletes in Denver! I'd also love to see Denver get Riley Cooper since him and Tim had such great chemistry at UF. Philly isn't using him so they could probably get him cheap.

Hillis needs to get out of Cleveland it is as simple as that. I would love to see him got to a more white friendly team. GB or perhaps going to Denver. We will see, who knows perhaps McWigger would like him in St. Louis now! lol

Denver or Green Bay would be fine, but not New England. It seems that Belicheck refuses to allow any of his running-backs to emerge as a true number one. Besides, Hillis going to the Patriots would probably end up screwing over Danny Woodhead even though they are different types of running-backs.

Good news guys. Peyton is back in pads and he may play on Sunday. This would be really great as he needs to prove to teams that he still has the talent to be a starting running back.

He tried to practice too soon and it just made things worse.

Eh, I'm not sure it matters much. Shurmur has no confidence in Hillis's abilities. I'm not sure McCoy does either, anymore. And it's pretty obvious that Holmgren wants him gone. I think the best thing for Peyton would be to stay healthy and sign with a good team next year. Even if he has to sign as a backup. He will be able to steal the starting job away IF he finally has a good offensive line to run behind.

He might be rushing back, the other guy just had his first 100 yard game. Im sure hes fine. He might have a hard time getting a shot at backup on a decent team the way they have made his image look. DWFS believe he is a locker room cancer and not a team player going back to his Denver days. So he will need to put up some numbers for a better chance. He might have a better chance to win the starting job if the blocking is bad, being that he is one of the few that consistently perform behind inconsistent blocking.

I think a good place would be the Chiefs. They don't seem to be sest on giving Jamaal Charles a workhorse load, when he was healthy Thomas Jones had over 200 carries. Hillis is much better than Thomas Jones. They have Battle and McCluster but they haven't shown anything special. It would be kind of cool to see him on the Broncos, McGahee is their best runner and over the hill. Hillis running + Tebow running occasionally as well would be a lot for defenses to handle.

Peyton Hillis a game-time decision

BEREA, Ohio -- Peyton Hillis walked out of the Browns' locker room Friday carrying a playbook under his right arm. On Sunday, he hopes he's carrying a football.

At long last.

Cleveland's besieged running back, who has missed the past six games with a severely strained left hamstring, could return to the field this week when the Browns (4-6) visit the Cincinnati Bengals (6-4). It's a surprising development considering Browns coach Pat Shurmur ruled him out when the week began and Hillis did not practice Wednesday or Thursday

But Hillis has made major progress in the past few days, and is on the brink of a long-awaited, and perhaps dramatic, return.

"I miss playing football," he said. "It's what I was brought up my whole life to do. I'm excited to get out there playing a game. I'm excited about winning games. I'm excited to see how I can play during this time. I'm excited I feel 100 percent again."

Hillis, whose fall from stardom has been as abrupt as his rise, is ready to resume his stormy season.

"I've just got to find a way to overcome all of this and be the player I used to be," he said.

Hillis practiced Friday for the first time since Nov. 4, when he re-injured his hamstring two days before a game in Houston. During the portion of practice open to the media, Hillis appeared to be fully healed. He carried the ball a few times, and near the end of the workout, Hillis caught a short pass and turned up field with a burst of speed.

Shurmur said it would be a game-time decision whether Hillis plays.

"Because he hasn't played ball in a long time, I think it's still important that I'm cautious with his return," Shurmur said.

yeah no agenda here. The rule has always been, you don't practice on Friday you don't play on Sunday, it works the other way around too, at least thats the rule for most players. He wasn't limited in practice, was he? is something going to happen between today and Sunday that he aggravates his hamstring?

just read: after thursdays after practice they put him through rigirous workouts and then was said to have a strong performance in team drills today, at full speed. It says he has been got a platelet rich plamsa injection a few weeks ago to speed up the recovery.

It sounds like he's done everything right this time rather than rushing it like he did before when he was under so much pressure from the coaching staff and the media. Hopefully it'll hold up now and Hillis can still salvage this season somewhat with some strong games down the stretch, though five of the Browns' final six games are against teams with tough run defenses -- Cincinnati this week and then they still have to play Pittsburgh and Baltimore twice each.

I didn't watch one single Browns game while Hillis was out.
What I want to know is did either Hardesty or Ogbonnaya line up at fullback? For even one snap?

I still think that played a role in his initial injury. And if Shurmur makes him do it again, I think he'll just hurt himself again. Hillis should absolutely refuse to take a 3pt and block. If it turns him into a team pariah, so what? They weren't going to have him back next year, anyway. Better to just be benched the rest of the season than risk a career-ending torn hamstring.

Chris probably did in pass situations. I doubt Hillis lining up a few times to pass block in a splitback set and a few quick hitters on short yardage is the reason he was injured. He didn't run block one single time this year. Half of the top 12 leading rushers from last year have missed significant time with injury. Andre Johnson was out for what, 6 weeks with a hamstring injury? Except he didn't keep trying to come back every week.

Like I said, I think the whole trying to convert Hillis back to fullback is over with. Now their agenda is to paint him as mediocre tailback that can't take a full load and gets worn down easily. Besides, he hasn't shown to be a good run blocker in the NFL.

If the next picture you see of Browns running back Peyton Hillis is of him wearing "Ron Paul for President" paraphernalia, we can explain.

During Thursday's interview session, Hillis decided to comply with teammate Tony Pashos request (after persistent begging) that he advertise for Pashos' favorite presidential candidate. Pashos has had bumper stickers for Paul, the candidate vying for the Republican nomination, taped to his locker all season.

Hillis donned a Browns baseball cap with a Ron Paul bumper sticker plastered across it during TV and newspaper interviews, donned a "Ron Paul 2012 button" and added another Ron Paul sticker to his T-shirt for good measure.

Pashos joined the media scrum and asked the final question of the interview session.

"Who do you support for president?" Pashos shouted.

"Ron Paul," Hillis said, simply. "He represents the constitution and what it needs to be."

Hillis was more engaging and upbeat Thursday than he's been all season, a trying one for him in which he has missed five games with a hamstring injury and been in contentious contract renegotiations with the Browns.

At the start of the interview, a TV cameraman looked to clip a microphone on Hillis' shirt.

"Can we pin this on you?" he asked.

"Why not?" Hillis responded. "You guys have pinned everything else on me this year."

Doesn't he realize that our Constitution is just a "g*ddamned piece of paper"? Where has he been? Constitutionalists like Hillis (and Paul) are obviously a threat to our nation and society and its police state values. Extreme caution should be taken if you should ever encounter either of them as I'm sure they are probably strong supporters of the 2nd Amendment as well. Report them to the nearest authorities as soon as possible.
