Im not sure if roids are the problem. Its the same hamstring he injured landing upside down to make a catch. He hasn't helped it by not warming up properly, (didn't see him on the bike), he pushes himself beyond his limit by pulling trucks in the offseason (not recommended if you have a history of hamstring injuries) and he doesn't let it heal for long enough. I said earlier he should have just waited until today to be his first day of practice, and should have had a light, limited practice. He did the same thing as he did last week expecting a different result. Look at other guys that inured their hamstrings in the league, they sit out multiple weeks with no practices, they don't keep trying to come back in the middle of the week. I wasn't even sure if it was a wise move to even try to come back for this game.
Bigunreal, im not sure if you are familiar with hamstring injuries, but its not uncommon for them to feel fine, only to re-injure them soon after, especially for a person that has a high pain tolerance like Peyton. He probably can't tell when he is pushing himself to the limit and the adrenalin is flowing. Instead of feeling bad for the guy and realize this is unfortunate circumstance you continue to insist that this is some wwf scripted event. Yeah I'm sure Peyton Hillis threw his helmet on the ground for added effect in his part of the act and that he wants all of this to happen, so he gets a small contract and/or winds up as a fullback. The coaches don't know how far along he is with his injury. If he says he can play then the coaches take it for what it is. He should become more in tune with his body and know when something is wrong. Its probably getting around 50 percent better each time he comes back and he tries to tough it out only to go back to square 1. Hamstrings can go from feeling a little tight to where you can't walk without a bunch of pain.
The multiple agents is because the best they can offer him is 3 million guaranteed.Thats what a 30 year old McGahee got for Denver. Chris Gocong got 8 million guaranteed. Amhad Bradshaw 9 million guaranteed. Hes getting new agents because the old ones aren't getting the job done.
So your not going to support him, nice to know where your loyalty stands, not with White players in the NFL but with the insane idea that the NFL is rigged like the WWF. A charity even that his manager/brother or cousin failed to inform him about (He missed a radio show that night as well) and a "questionable" injury, one that he had problems with in college, the one he injured landing upside down putting him on IR for Denver, the one he missed many practices for in preseason as well as a preseason game. Yeah that sounds questionable to me. Get over yourself. The guy is injured plain and simple, and this is scenario that the caste system was hoping for.
The only thing I fault Hillis for is trying to come back early, but then there are fans like you (and dwfs) that are questioning his injury and ability to play giving him the soft label and keep saying "matt forte is earning his new contract" so it pushes him to come back sooner than possible, so even then I can't put the blame on him with all the media stuff bombarding him every single day. If he could play he would be out there doing the same thing Forte is doing. Btw dwfs have extremely short memories so all he would have to do is come back the last part of the season, run all over some tough teams like the Steelers and most would probably forget. The last feature back for more than 1 season was John Riggins, he sat out the entire 1980 season over a contract dispute, and dealt with some injuries in his career, but he played until he was 36. Its way too early to write Hillis and his career off over one bad season, especially when many believe in the Madden Curse.
We just need to stop crying over this, did we expect for the position to change over one season? The NFL dumps dozens and dozens of black runningbacks into the league every year, most fade out due to injury or lack of talent, of course some will stick when you put that many in the league every year, for every Adrian Peterson there are a dozen guys that are gone or way down the depth chart or underperforming (Knowshon Moreno anyone?). We are reduced to putting our hopes on a handful of guys of course there will be some disappointment. Hillis is still young and has a chance. Gerhart still has a chance, he is still young. We have Burkhead and Line coming in as well. All is not lost. THIS season isn't even over with. Give Hillis 4 games healthy and he can get some of his reputation back. He is not going to fade out like the Nigerian Nightmare after one hit. White positions like DT didn't turn black after one season, it was a gradual process, we have some great defensive players and more to come, as well as receivers and backs, more will get scholarships, it will be a gradual change. It will probably never look like it once did but it will be better than it was in the 90's.
