Keep in mind the more intelligent you are the easier it is to detect a concussion. People like Frank Gore who are legally retarded won't know the difference between a concussion and par for the course.

Nice. He hasn't techincally been re-signed yet, so it's unclear how much money he'll be making per season. A bigger salary is usually an indication that a player is a bigger part of the team. Thankfully, Hillis will now have the entire off-season to get into better shape.

The current RB's (Wilson, Scott, Cox) on the roster are an underwhelming bunch. All of them are around 5'11 and between 200-215 lbs. None of them have the body type or receiving ability of Hillis. Despite this obvious niche, expect Coughlin to draft a larger-framed RB in April.

Boy oh boy, do the jews and wiggers at rotoworld hate White running backs.

Giants re-signed RB Peyton Hillis to a two-year, $1.8 million contract.
Hillis, 28, signed off the street last year and rushed for 247 yards with two TDs on 73 carries (3.4 YPC), appearing in seven games and starting one. He should be viewed internally by the Giants as no more than an insurance policy. Hillis is a plus pass blocker, but offers no big-play ability as a runner, is in decline, and has a history of fumbling problems. He's an uninspiring re-signing
I'm actually shocked that they gave him credit as a "plus" pass blocker. Of course they make no mention of his "plus" ability as a pass catcher out of the back field.

Maybe they are insinuating he is a better fullback. Anyway I'm mildly surprised that the Giants retained him as Rotoworld kept on hinting that they the Giants would move on from him and he was just on loan for the rest of the year. The site makes the reader feel that they are fed inside information from somebody in the front office of various teams....

Only $100,000 of Hillis's contract is guaranteed, plus the Giants signed another big back, Rashard Jennings, to be their featured back. Hillis didn't look nearly as good last year as he had from 2008-2010, so he better train like hell to have any chance of reviving his career at this point.

A Weenieworld writer gets his first erection since receiving the most recent edition of ESPN The Magazine:

David Wilson opened Giants camp as the second-team tailback. He was quickly installed directly behind Rashad Jennings, and ahead of Peyton Hills and rookie Andre Williams. Per the Giants' website, Wilson "looked dynamic as ever" in practice, "making cuts like his old self and still looks like one of the most athletic players on the field." Only 23, Wilson has mouth-watering god-given gifts but football-playing deficiencies have removed him from the equation to start. He'll likely be a change-of-pace back this season.

ridiculous given the net sentence "football playing deficiencies"

this right here is why Hillis should start
" integral part of the Giants turning things around. In games Hillis appeared in, the Giants went 5-2, while going 2-7 in games he did not."

but they got the packers oc and it is said he might use Hillis like Kuhn was used, which was poorly. I don't understand the hype behind Rashad Jennings, he is 29 and never had more than 165 carries in a season, for dwfs to call Hillis a one year wonder and love this guy is silly and the other two guys seem to be injury prone, so Hillis may have a shot to start again.

People say Gerhart can't excel for the same reasons as Jennings who was a backup for Maurice Jones Drew in Jacksonville and then a backup for part of the season with McFadden. Except Jennings played at a 1-aa school and less yars than Gerhart in the Pac-12 like Gerhart. And Jennings has had multiple injuries as a backup, concussion, knee and shoulder. Gerhart had the knee injury.

It doesn't look good for Hillis. He is apparently buried on the depth chart and I'll be surprised if he gets more than a handful of carries the entire season.

The Browns could use help at running back. Tate is likely to get injured. If the Giants cut Hillis the Browns should pick him up for a second go around.

He has a shot. None of these backs has stayed healthy for an entire season. Wilson is a smaller back. Andre Is the rookie and can't catch or pass block and only ran through huge holes at Boston college Ad like is aid, Jennings was injured multiple years as a backup.

I haven't been able to post at or surf this site much in recent months. But I was able to check in today, hoping to get some updates on Hillis and some of the others.

Anyhow, after reading the most recent posts in this thread, it got a little depressing so I decided to google "Peyton Hillis" and saw this breaking news, from a (non Jewish) writer who has not been outwardly hostile towards Hillis, unlike guys like Gregg Rosenthal and Adam Caplan:

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/11281650/david-wilson-new-york-giants-suffers-neck-burner

Truth of the matter, is Wilson should retire for his own good. I sort of feel the same way about Austin Collie, who is one my favorites. It would've been awesome if Austin never sustained that concussion vs. the Eagles a few years back (via a cheap shot to the head) that caused his career to derail suddenly, but I'm not sure he should risk his health just to around as a 4th or 5th receiver.

Wilson also needs to look at this real close. If he keeps messing around with his neck/back and spine area, he could wind up in a wheel chair by the age of 35.

This is where I sort of feel bad for the NFL, as far as the lawsuits by ex-players. So many of these players (mostly black) will do anything to hang around just a little bit little longer, knowingly risking their health. But the minute they leave the game, they sue the people they hoped would ignore their "medical issues" because they "allowed them to play injured".

Yes he either has 2 futures Mike Alstott where he can never play football again or the future of former pro wrestling star Davey Boy Smith who at around 50 is in a wheel chair because he ignored stingers back when he was wrestling 25 years and damaged his neck beyond repair. This year Johnathan Franklin had to retire because of a narrowed spinal column, now Wilson is close to one foot out the door but at least they can walk out the door......

The Hillis Curse has struck again...

Luckily this time Hillis isn't the one on the receiving end of the curse. I am hoping a full training camp and offseason workout regimen has helped him regain his explosiveness. I think he gained Eli's trust last year As a pass blocker and reliable receiver.

I'll suspend my well learned pessimism in this regard, ordinarily I would assume that Hillis gets cut before the seasons starts. But a couple of thing are in his favor, rare for a white RB. He's not a head injury guy so they don't have to worry about that. He's typical white RB type, big and bruising so no stereotype threat is at work. But the big thing is he has had success in the league, that means a lot. More than it should in some cases but the league is all about rewarding success. So I think he makes the roster and gets some action.

Peyton Hillis had a season in which he rushed for over 1100 yards with a 4.4 average. He also caught over 60 passes and pass blocks well. He's a proven all around player.

Yet he's fighting for a job. It's because he's white and being discriminated against. A black athlete with his credentials would be the undisputed number one for some team.

If the Giants are smart they will make him their starter and reap the benefits.

Surprised when I went to BSPN's home page and saw this as one of the top stories.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...hillis-moves-no-2-new-york-giants-depth-chart

Take it for what you will. Hillis needs to continue to perform well this preseason. I'm sure Coughlin and his Boston College roots will do everything in his power to let Andre Williams supplant Hillis.
Williams cant pass block and has hands of stone, teams usually want to to give the starter a breather on 3rd downs, Williams is useless right now, sad that we are hoping for Hillis to get a backup job. Screw the NFL.

what sucks is Hillis will probably get plenty of carries out of shotgun, which limits the types of runs they can do, mostly draws. This is where the pistol formation would give an advantage. Benefit of a passing formation but can run all the running plays you usually do out of single back or i formation

Hillis has an ankle injury, and it might be more serious than theyre letting on. This sucks. I feel like its my fault, ever since i got him in fantasy football its been nothing but bad luck hah.

Gerhart has a hip injury and wont play this week, they say they are just being cautious, so hopefully it doesnt linger and affect him later on this season, or ruin his chances of getting close to 20 carries a game

shouldve had a better career instead of a 7th round pick for fb and there are still ridiculous rumors about him, like he slept with McDaniels wife is the reason he didnt get carries. Actually looked it up and its a bunch of bs.

Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself and have at least a 4 to 6 game stretch where he is the main guy with a few 100 yarders so he can stop being a guy everyone laughs at. Like everyone laughs at him and thinks his 1k season was a fluke despite proving it in Denver

Damn those Hillis highlights are awesome! Like a prime Jamal Lewis, but with MUCH better hands, and blocking ability.
