Peyton Hillis has just renamed Castefootball. The new name is PeytonsPlace! This guy was amazing today. The total package. The NFL had better take notice. All of this from a good ole country boy. You gotta love it! Way to go Peyton. Also a very nice game by Scheffler and Stokley. The Broncos are the team to watch.

If that were the case, it could be the single biggest slap in the face and example of the caste in the history of the NFL. He has had 3 good showings in a row now and has been improving each game.

I just watched Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Trent Dilfer and John Saunders discuss the Broncos-Jets game for several minutes. Hillis wasn't even mentioned until the very end, then they went to Chris Mortensen, who mentioned Hillis' pedigree as a star high school tailback. Mortensen is one of the very few people at ESPN who isn't a complete Caste clown.

I think, Hillis is the best running back between Hester, Leonard and himself.
I know it's early to tell this, but he seem to be the real packtage guys.

That will be the excuse used to explain his success. We'll probably hear a lot of "that could only happen in Denver," comments.

Have to give credit to Shanahan. It would have been VERY easy to put in T. Bell, especially considering his past success with the Broncos.

I don't think it's a surprise that Peyton is getting a shot under the same guy who coached Ed McCaffrey, John Lynch and now Stokley. Edited by: Fightingtowin

I'm sure it is. I know that Brian Leonard had to split carries last year, and Heath Evans had to split carries when he startedin 2005. Brock Forsey had almost all of the non-QB runs in his 134 yard game against Arizona in 2003. Three other backs had a carry apiece. Its at least been 6 years since a white back has received all the carries. I'll have to go back and look, but its possible that Mike Alstott was the last to do that before Peyton Hillis. I believe Mortensen's son is a QB for Arkansas so he is aware of Hillis's abilities. I remember him being a big proponent of Matt Jones coming out as of college too.

Well gentlemen, I just did the research on the question of when the last time a white RB had all the non-QB carries and here is what I believe to be the answer.


Mike Alstott had a couple of games in 2001 where he had almost all of the Bucs non-QB runs, but the last time he had all of the non-QB runs for Tampa was on December 6, 1999 in a win over the Vikings. Mike had 23 runs for 95 yards and a catch for 2. The only other runs were by the QB Shaun King, who ran 4 times for 8 yards.

I believe that to be the last time a white player had such a game until today with Peyton Hillis. Its way overdue and I'm glad it finally happened again.

Hopefully we won't have to waitverylongfor it to happen again.

In case you were wondering, Travis Jervey had 2 games in 1998 where he had all the non-QB runs EXCEPT 1. They were October 15 in a loss against Detroit and October 25 in a win against Baltimore.


Mike Alstott had no other games in his career where he received all the team's runs.
