yeah i just read that. what a terrible first day. Amendola, Walter, two of our starting white receivers are out. Walter may as well start looking for a new team. FUUUUCK

PS one piece of good news is Kerrigan's pick 6 and Neild with 2 sacks. suddenly Redskins have three players to cheer for on their D. weird!

Peterson should be a safety. Arizona has a terrible defense. Newton won't live up to his hype. Mcnabb and Jackson are both having terrible games thus far.

Despite the black busts and underachievers, receiver is still the black man's strongest position, with running back being one of his weakest (contrary to Eric ****erson's smack-talk).

Sorry guys, but Rex Grossman sux. He might have been good 20 years ago, but he can't adust to the speed of the game. If they win it's going to be because there defense.

The "slow" Reed Doughty is all over the field and has 9 total tackles much to the dismay of the DWF's. Eli Manning is being his usual self and is having a poor game. Give Carr the starting position already.

TBH Newton is lighting it up,he's showing great arm strength though Arizona's D has alot to be desired.Chris Nield has 2 sacks. He must really have impressed the Redskins to get playing time in the first game of the season as a 7th rnd rookie.I thought he would be lucky to make the final roster.Hopefully the Steelers can finally start declining under Tomlin.

White defensive players have been awesome, as usual. A bad week for White receivers, but there will be better weeks to come, though Amendola's injury really hurts.

The Colts look like an instant bottom feeder, just verifies my belief that Peyton Manning is the best football player of all time.

What? 20 years ago Rex was in the 5th grade. Are you trying to call us old?

Grossman is fine, like all QBs he just needs his line to protect him. His arm looks great and he has been making alot of very good throws. For being constantly targeted by the media I am happy he has played so well today.

With all do respect Cam Newton isn't getting any protection either and he is about to break a record for passing yards.

What I mean by 20 years ago is that back in the 90 the game was slower, players like Drew Bledsoe and Dan Marino excelled. Grossman can't move outside the pocket.

This sounds very similar to what the media has been saying about all White QBs for the last 10-12 years. Basically that the era of the (White) pocket passer is over and that the (black) supposedly mobile QB will come to dominate. It ain't happened yet.

Huh? Not really sure the speed of the game has changed much at all. Its not like humans somehow evolved since the 90s naturally anyways. I am sure alot of the speed in today's game can be attributed to cheating/steroids/hgh. Marino and Bledsoe would both thrive in "today's" NFL with its rule changes to make it a passer friendly league. Brady and Manning are the two best QBs in the game, don't but into the hype that a QB has to run a 4.4 forty to somehow be effective.

Toby Gerhart 2 carries 16 yards...
Brian Leonard 2 carries 15 yards
Total of 4 carries for 31 yards...nearly an 8 yard average...making the most of very limited opportunities.

Jacob Hester did not even carry the ball once; had 3 rec 13 yards... while Tolbert had a nice game receiving; he only had 35 yards rushing on 12 carries...if I was a betting man Hester could do no worse...

Donavan Mcnabb was 7/15 for 39 yards 1 td 1 int

Toby Gehart got only 2 carries for 16 yards. If he's going to get any playing time in this offense he is going to have to keep his average over 8 yards a carry.

Yes, at times he has been dreadful, however, Grossman played fantastic in Kyle Shannahan’s offense during the entire pre-season. Today, Grossman was 21/34 for 305 yards and 2 TD passes…all with WR’s such as Anthony Armstrong, Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Banks (although Santana Moss is decent).

Banks, possibly the littlest black smurf in NFL history, can be found somewhere in the crowd featured in this photo…

Like Don, I also wish Grossman the best in resurrecting his career this season.

The carzy thing about the Cinci game was Cedric Benson was having a terrible game until Leonard had that 11 yard run, before that Benson was averaging 3.1 yards per carry. I think Cinci needs to get Leonard more involved much like the system the Giants have.

Lighting it up?
The Panthers managed three scores. That's pretty pitiful for 422 passing yards and 8 carries for 18 rushing yards.
It also reminded me of something that I've seen before a number of times. The Panthers offense, at least in this game, were just like the college teams I wrote about last year in my "Voodoo Mathematics" thread. All the team's production gets rerouted to the quarterback position, but it doesn't make the team any more successful. I realize it's a hard thing to argue, since the percentages (65% completion for Newton) would suggest that Newton played great. But the trends have held up pretty well. When the QB is a runner, and he makes up an overwhelming percentage of his team's offense (Newton had 92% of their production in this game), the team performs poorly. Arizona has a poor pass defense. In addition, they were just letting Newton spin his wheels all game long. In the end, it didn't hurt them. That's probably the template that the rest of the league will follow this year. So look for amazing numbers from Newton, and a 4-12 record for the Panthers.

wow, rotoworld is promptly sucking on his balls:

Cam Newton completed 24-of-37 passes for 422 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's loss to Cardinals.

Newton also rushed eight times for 18 yards with a touchdown. It's perhaps the most impressive debut by a rookie quarterback ever and it was not a fluky, garbage time kind of performance. Newton was remarkably poised in the pocket, consistently moved to his secondary reads and showed surprising accuracy. The Cardinals' secondary and defense is anemic, so we're not going to go overboard yet. But Newton is a very solid QB2 and has the Panthers pointed in the right direction.
WTF? really? EVER? gimme a break...
