Gee, I wonder if Brady will now decide to utilize the reliable weapon known as Chris Hogan more than once or twice a game, who was Caste aside to make way for The Great Josh Gordon Crash and Burn Experiment. Ignoring for a moment his drug and criminality issues, Gordon never looked better than a journeyman all season, while Hogan is still in his prime.
It's really a shame that Brady's age 41 season was pissed away while the organization tried to show it could win by being as stupidly Caste as any other. And Brady gets a big part of the blame as well, not just Belichick, for suddenly developing a blind spot for Hogan, who merely led the league in average yards per catch just two seasons ago.
Maybe the Patriots will still come together in time for the playoffs for a Super Bowl win, but that's unlikely, and it wouldn't feel as good anyway given the continuing stupidity of personnel moves on defense, and the insistence on going with penalty-ridden, unreliable sumos on offense. After being carefully groomed all season on the practice squad or as the fourth receiver, Chad Hansen should be stepping into Gordon's role as the third WR option after Edelman and Hogan. And if not Hansen one of the others from the gaggle of talented White receivers they caste on the dung heap this year. . .
