Lol, "Black Jack" Del Rio going full MAGA boomer via Twitter was definitely not on my bingo card. I still expect that he'll be forced out of his job before the season, but you love to see it.
The part of this story that I hate the most, personally, is the appearance of such a 'one-way street' when it comes to debating our ideological enemies, who are obviously all deluded freaks. When you look at the Twitter thread itself that stemmed from Del Rio's comment, there are endless streams of people who spout the nonsense boilerplate lines. It depresses me because there seems to be no recourse and no way to fight these hoaxers. Twitter has surely banned anyone who was once willing to argue in good faith. The "insurrectionist" "coup" hand-wringers are all completely retarded; nearly all of them have Ukraine flag avatars, homo flag avatars, and surely used to have those mask and needle emojis in their handles last year. They might all be part of the bot farm that Elon Musk claims to suspect make up 20% of Twitter's engagement levels. I just feel such intense frustration that I cannot pummel them with my fists. It became an important exercise to remember that the internet in general is an echo chamber, and the best medicine is logging off and getting some fresh air.
