NFL News, Rumors and Musings

Well like ex Pat DC Matt Patricia coming off a bad SB the optics aren't great coming off the Rams loss for QB coach Zac Taylor. I have deep reservations about these QB coaches ( leave it to the Bengals) but we will have to wait and see what happens to all these new coaches including Pats DC Brian Flores who is now the head man at Miami.

I know CF member Tannehill is concerned and he should especially since Miami has been a scattershot mainly caste team for quite some time even if you factor in say WR Brian Hartline's time there.

But a few things. I cannot remember a time where I will be looking more forward to the offseason moves. For one thing there will likely be several solid white WRs on the market including Cole Beasley, Adam Humphries and possibly Chris Hogan and I would hope the environment has changed enough where they will become focal point starters and not treated like riff raff which was the case in the past with a lot of FA white WRs.

And whether it be Flores, Taylor, Jon Gruden and so many other "new" head coaches the best way to determine their caste pedigree is through the draft. If they go all Matt Nagy on us then we know damn well which way the wind is blowing. Even though the white WR draft situation is sticky and still a bit unresolved in terms of numbers and the fear that both of the top white RBs might be ignored (I have Patrick Laird penciled in as a Burkhead clone) I think and hope this draft will be better than average particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

Which coaches will show some guts? For instance will anyone step out and say "we want our own Taysom Hill" and draft either Trace McSorley or Nick Fitzgerald which to me would be a smart thing. Look how well it worked for the Saints. Who if anyone will step out of the caste straight jacket and draft with exciting imagination? Who if anyone will take a late round white WR/KR/PR speedster who isn't a combine invite? Lot of questions to be answered soon. Time will tell. In the past I am usually disappointed and underwhelmed but like a fool every year I hold out hope especially in light of the uplifting Patriots SB win.

So we will not only be watching but we should be able to determine who the caste-a-holics are in a relatively short time.

About Adam Gase. Nothing against him and he doesn't seem awful in caste terms but I wouldn't say excellent either. What bothers me is he drafts one of the best pure athletes in the draft in TE Mike Gesicki and he didn't know how to use him. Especially in this day and age where TEs like George Kittle being used properly and thriving. Gesicki is the best athlete on the Dolphins. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the offense should run through him since he runs like the wind and can leap small buildings.

But again everyone of these new coaches and the older coaches too will be in our spotlight come FA moves and the draft. After the dust has settled we will be able to sort out the caste frauds from the coaches who desire more diversity on their roster which has kept the Patriots on top of the mountain for a long time.

Going down the caste hole just seems like a losing proposition these days in light of everything.

Remember caste soaked Alabama got beat by Clemson who was more white friendly.

Speaking of Miami it looks like Flores is bringing in a black DC from the Packers. Have no idea and since he wasn't the Packers DC he is a blank page so no reason to feel optimistic at the moment. Ha.

Looks like the OC will be Pats WR coach Chad O' Shea. This sounds good on the surface and you have to think he will find a way to incorporate Gesicki front and center.

Bills sign OL Spencer Long to a 3-year $13 million contract.

Chris Hogan was a guest on ESPN this morning and they asked him about "being open" and not getting the ball. He said most receivers feel they are open on every play. So they asked him did he bring it up to Brady as they were laughing. He said no with a grin. But he liked it when Brady would say something about it in the film room.

Joking aside we all would like to see Hogan get more targets but by the same token he has been the starting WR on two winning Super Bowls teams and has played in three of them. And he has some outstanding playoff games too.

Why should they ditch him? He has played a nice role for them during their high times. So obviously I hope they resign him but either way the Hogan situation is one of many intriguing off season storylines.

Remember when they picked up Josh Gordon to "shore" up their WR situation and last year it was Brandin Cooks? Cut through the hyperbole and the Patriots have played their best with Edelman and Hogan being the two main WR targets. Case closed. And a stinging reminder to NFL teams that you can win big by lining up two white WRs.

[Late edit. Even with a down year in the playoffs this season if you extrapolate Hogan's career playoff numbers into a 16 game season it would look like this stat line: 77-1238-9. Clutch stuff.]

Broncos trade a 2019 fourth for Flacco.

Pretty interesting news. Good for Flacco - bad for Keenum. Have to wonder if Elway still goes after Drew Lock to develop behind Flacco. Baltimore has resigned itself to 3-4 years of mediocrity.

Good signing. Bills should follow it up by drafting Bama's Jonah Williams at LT in 1st Rd.

Dalton Risner would also be a great option. I would love to see them get Hockenson in the first round though and Risner/Lindstrom/Hyatt in rounds 2-4.

Yes Buffalo needs to ditch the sumos. Very deep draft for us up front and at TE!

They now have two high priced quarterbacks. One of them will probably be released and it will probably be Keenum.

Objectively, getting a starting caliber starting quarterback for a fourth rounder is a good deal. Maybe if Flacco is surrounded by better players than he was at Baltimore he will do better.

Here's an article about possible cuts. At the end they list Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen. Sorensen played well in the playoffs and probably has a low salary. So why does the author think he should be cut?

Simple, he's a white man playing defensive back. The anti-whites don't like that. So they they try to get him cut. They never give up.

I've never really cared for Elway. My Dad hated him for snubbing the Baltimore Colts when they drafted him. At least as a GM he's never given in to the black quarterback hype.

I was a kid when he was in league. I vaguely remember the super bowls at the end of 90s. I was pissed when he ran Tebow out of town and did not agre with him cutting Paxton Lynch and hiring Vance Jospeh. I do do agree about the black quarterback hype but I don’t trust any nfl exec or scout.

The Milwaukee paper has as clickbait an article about Fitzmagic to the Packers, that is all I know since my monthly articles limit has been reached and I cannot even link it here.

That would be an excellent move for the Packers. They desperately need a quality backup. Rodgers seems to be injured a lot nowadays.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Broncos are "most likely" going to release ILB Brandon Marshall.
Marshall was a 2012 fifth-round pick of the Jaguars but lasted one season there before becoming one of the top off-ball inside linebackers in Denver under Wade Phillips. Marshall has missed 10 games over the last three seasons but is still serviceable when healthy. Perhaps the Rams give him a look with Phillips now there. Marshall's release will clear $5 million against the cap.

This would be great for Josey Jewell and his chance of starting and becoming a tackling machine. Hopefully his White Apprenticeship is ending early!

Jewell made 9 starts last year, in part because of Marshall's injury problems, and ended the season with 58 combined tackles. He was too productive and obviously NFL ready to waste a long racial apprenticeship on. He should be indeed be a tackling machine this coming season.

The ridiculously long racial apprenticeships more often go to White receivers, tight ends, and running backs (what few there are) than to defensive players, though I can think of Aaron Kampman and Brian Robison off the top of my head who served long ones, while of course many talented White players on both sides of the ball never get a chance to start.

I’m not very optimistic about the future of the Dolphins. Things were finally looking better for them with Adam Gase at the helm, only to do a complete about-face and go full caste with their coaching staff and front office. All signs point to them drafting the midget Kyler Murray with the 13th pick or perhaps trading up to get him. If they can’t incorporate Mike Gesicki into the offense somehow then I don’t see them as a team worth rooting for.

The highlighted part of this Weenieworld blurb certainly caught my attention. However I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen on a Bruce Arians coached team:

Scott Reynolds of Pewter Report suggested Chris Godwin could be a candidate to replace impending free agent Adam Humphries as the team's primary slot receiver in 2019.
Per Reynolds, Humphries and his camp are seeking at least $8 million annually while the Bucs won't go higher than $6 million. With Humphries likely to jump ship in free agency, Godwin could be asked to fill the team's void at slot receiver. Godwin only played in the slot on 34.9 percent of his snaps last year but his size and speed combo along with his superior blocking could make him successful at that position. Slot receivers have traditionally fared well in Bruce Arians offenses as Larry Fitzgerald posted three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons while playing primarily out of the slot from 2015-2017. With DeSean Jackson likely to be released or traded, 2018 fifth-rounder Justin Watson could be a candidate to start outside opposite Mike Evans in 2019.

Adam Humphries had 76 receptions and over 800 yards. Not bad.

Looking at the salaries of wide receivers he's worth at least the 8 million. But of course white players are often underpaid.

Jake Kumerow hopes long road to NFL firsts sets stage for healthy 2019 with Packers

Great article. I didn't know Kumerows cousins are the Bosa's. Wow does he come from an athletic family. I wish he was younger but hoping he has 4 to 6 years of high level receiving in him
since he didn't play much over the last 5 years. He is so fun to watch and he has all the physical & mental tools necessary to become a household name in Greenbay!
