So the lockout is over and the NBA is back. I have mixed feelings on this; I would have preferred to see it fold and to see the "stars" try and make the move to Europe. Where their every-other-play-travailing, every-play-carrying, loud and obnoxious whining would not be tolerated.

But it is what it is, there will be a season. And we have our brothers to root for.
Last season ended phenomenally for the Caste Busters, the Dallas Mavericks led by white superstar Dirk Nowitzki. And with significant contributions from Barea, Cardinal, and Stojakovich they proved once and for all that in this 'new and ultra-afroletic' NBA that white players can dominate and win championships period. They also added Rudy Fernandez who may end up playing in Europe this year.

This season is one that I am excited about for the first time ever.
I am excited to see Jimmer Ferdette prove everyone who questioned his athleticism, as racially biased.
I can't wait to see Ricky Rubio pair with Kevin Love for one of the most dynamic duos in NBA history.
I can't wait to see JJ Red ick for the first time as a starter playing without looking over his shoulder.
I can't wait to see Chase Buddinger develop into a All-Star.
Gordon Hayward silence all those who said he was taken to early.
Can't wait to see Adam Morrison's comeback, there will be a comeback.
I can't wait to hear about how much hustle it takes for Tyler Hansburgh to overcome his melanin deficiency and dominate.
Can't wait to hear about how much hard work it took for Dirk to get to where he is, or how sneaky Steve Nash is.
Or how Manu Ginobli puts his defender too sleep then hustles by them.
Or seeing Enes Kanter dominate with that sneaky style.
Or seeing Chandler Parsons prove that he should have been a first round pick.
Or Josh Harrellson win the starting job in New Orleans despite the lack of upside.

Yes it would have been nice to see it fold.

But let's rally for our brethren; the NFL is waking up slowly but surly. Now it's on to the NBA.
Happy Season my fellow Caste Busters.

Good post. I'm going to follow the NBA at least somewhat this season, in large part because of the things you mentioned.

ScaafC, do you know if Vesely and Valanciunas will be in the league this season? Or do they have to play out a contract overseas like Rubio? Both are very high draft picks(5th and 6th) and have been given credit for their athleticism. They have the potential to be stars.

From what I understand both will be playing out their contracts in Europe. There is a possibility of Jan Vesely playing this season, but it's probable that he will remain in Europe. Hopefully they will not go the way of Fran Vazquez.

Correction, it seems as if we will be able to add Jan Vesely to the list of players too look out for. He will be playing this season!
Valanciunas will be staying in Europe, and be arriving next year.

Saw that Kyle Singler is electing to stay in Spain and finish out the season there instead of playing in the NBA. Since he is a Detroit Piston, I can't say I blame him much.

Good move by Singler. Let's see, live in Madrid or Detroit? Play on a team of all-White players, or be the only White player on the Pistons roster? Plus, apparently his salary is better there than he would have received as a 2nd round pick. No brainer.

While I totally understand the move, I hope that it is not permanent. Detroit only holds his rights for two years because he is a second rounder. I hope that he add's some anger to his game and comes back to dominate the NBA.

I can't wait to see Jan throwing down some mean dunks soon.

Jimmer Fredette is one of the guys I really will keep an eye on. He had 27 points and 9 assists in a rookie exibition game around a month ago. He is itching to start playing. This guy will work as hard as anyone in the nba to get to the highest level. If the Kings will share the ball, he will be an all star within three years at the most in my opinion.

If I were advising Kyle Singler I would tell him to never, ever play in Detroit for Joe Dumars -- NBA's answer to James Harris. Stay in Spain until he becomes a free agent and only come back to the NBA "if" some fairly white friendly team (or teams) really wants him bad enough and will offer big time money for his return. While his quick return might increase the head count of whites in the NBA (which some here want), it's probably better for him as a person to not have to work in a hostile NBA setting, located in a horrific American city. Florida had a guy named Nick Calathes (sp?) that is doing the same things -- drafted by the Spurs, but not leaving Greece.

BTY, some block-head, white sports writer was going down the small list of players the Knicks have signed (or have exclusive rights to) yesterday and he mentioned Josh Harrelson. Unless he gets dealt back to New Orleans, he's in NYC for a while, probably as their token white, who will be laughed at (and mocked) by their large throng of Jewish season ticket holders when he gets in at "garbage time" -- ala Greg Butler, Brian Quinnett, Eric Anderson, Chris Dudley, Micheal Doleac and Andy Rautins.

I was not aware that he was in NYC. He will win the starting job there at C. With Chris Paul's inevitable forced trade to NY, Harrelson and Sodomizer will be the starting bigs, I think. As for Nick Calathes I don't think he ever really realized his potential at Florida, and as such would be better off in Greece. His rights are held by the Mavericks not the Spurs, wouldn't that be great to see him join the Mavs?
And I am positive that Singler will never put on a Pistons jersey.

When did Auburn Hills become a horrific city? Oakland County is one of the wealthiest, most beautiful regions in the country.

Also, Jonas Jerebko's one of the, if not the, most popular player on our team. And he loved it here. We're quickly gonna match any offer he gets in restricted free agency.

Latest trade and it looks like it's going to happen. Chris Paul to the Lakers, Pau Gasol to the Rockets and Scola and Brown to the Hornets.

The Houston Rockets are going to be one of my new favorite teams. They have Dragic at point guard, Chase at shooting guard or small forward, and now Gasol at power forward. Wow is this an impressive lineup.

I think might be a little confused. Jerebko started 73 of his 80 games as a second round draft pick. Prince started every Piston game for 7 years, and Daye never started for him. Neither of them ever started in place of, or every supplanted Jerebko.

He just re-upped today, by the way. :)

Now I am confused about what foolishness you are trying to pass off as an opinion. Gotta admit I don't watch anything that comes out of that cesspool. But just what are you blabbing about him "re-Upping" on? Are you demonstrating your grasp of Ebonics? Insinuating he in buying drugs? Or are you trying to inform the posters here that he has signed a contract extension?

Of course, as anyone who follows the NBA knows by now, the trade was nixed by the Hornet's owners, right, the NBA! Columnist Bill Simmons has an interesting take on the whole charade that can be seen here.

Once word leaked of the deal, rival owners started rebelling almost immediately. What was the point of that lockout, and all the talk of competitive balance, if the Lakers were allowed to immediately acquire Chris Paul? Dan Gilbert sent a scathing e-mail to a few of the other owners that, of course, was leaked on the Internet last night.
The best part of the letter: "This trade should go to a vote of the 29 owners of the Hornets."
(Translation: "Let's cut Demps' balls off, throw the last few weeks of negotiating out the window and go back on our word. Also, I'm thinking of starting a support group for small-market owners who overpaid for their teams, don't have the balls to sell and would rather whine, bitch and bully about their lot in NBA life. I'm going to call it O.A.: Overpayers Anonymous.")
The second-best part of the letter: "I just don't see how we can allow this trade to happen. I know the vast majority of owners feel the same way that I do. When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?"
(Translation: Boooooooo hooooooo.)

Yea, I'm insinuating that he bought drugs.

Now you're getting pretty pathetic. You made up some idiotic, contrived, imaginary drivel about people starting over Jerebko. When I calmly corrected you, you got emotional, and accused me of using "Ebonics" when I used common terminology for resigning a contract? Seriously? Is that the best you could come up with?

Was DixieDestroyer using "Ebonics" when he used re-up as well?

"At the top of the list will be determining Emelianenko's next opponent and where the event will take place, as well as negotiations to re-up a deal to produce additional events together into 2011."

When has he shown otherwise? All I see is accusations of Lemaitre using PEDS and Griffin being the best qb in the nation. Although Id like to see him stay for just a little while longer, just to have posters prove him wrong on every single point.

I agree DWID. I see a pattern from him and he certainly fits the description. If he is who I think he is then he'll eventually completely expose himself sooner or later.

I'm counting 5 whites this year on the Nuggets: Danilo Gallinari, Chris Andersen, Timofey Mozgov, Kosta Koufos, and the newly added Rudy Fernandez

Two are expected to start, Gallinari at forward and Mozgov at center. Would love to see Rudy get the starting spot from the aging Andre Miller as the season progresses!
