First Man is a must see

Ignore the flag “controversy” that popped up a few weeks or months ago.

The viewers see the flag on the moon (shocked me after so much hysteria), the struggle against the USSR, a more in depth look into the life of Neil Armstrong, which many prior movies had lacked and no Hidden Figures-esque garbage. Just a room full of straight white males fulfilling JFKs message just 8 years earlier

After three weeks, the new "revisionist" Robin Hood movie has only grossed a measly $27.2M.

Here are the other (pathetic) totals from last week:
Ralph Breaks the Internet $16.3M
The Grinch $15.0M
Creed II $10.0M
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald: $7.0M
Bohemian Rhapsody $6.1M
Instant Family $5.8M
Green Book $3.9M
Robin Hood $3.5M
The Possession of Hannah Grace $3.2M

Hard to believe the brick-and-mortar monstrosities showing them haven't gone out-of-business yet.

Just like the NFL & NBA, I hope these wicked movies houses also go out of business asap.

Robin Hood (2018 film) is a lot of anti-Christian, anti-Europe propaganda.

Muslims are portrayed as good, decent and honourable, while the crusaders and other Christians (except Robin) are made out to be cruel and evil.

It's similar to
Kingdom of Heaven except in that one, heroic people who really existed are portrayed in a degrading way.

Has anyone heard anything about Clint Eastwood's new movie, "Mule?"

It opens nation wide on Friday. The premise is interesting, based on a real individual. "The Mule" is a 90-year old WW II veteran (Eastwood) who transports drugs in his vehicle for a cartel.

Brie Larson Won't Allow The 'Captain Marvel' Media Tour To Be 'Overwhelmingly' White Or Male

Look at how excited she is...living in the wonderful world that the "White Male" built for her that gives her this kind of opportunity. Why isn't she smiling, happy and grateful for it?

"Captain Marvel" star Brie Larson says she's determined to make sure the Marvel movie's upcoming press junket is diverse and female-led, pledging to Marie Claire UK that she will keep the tour from becoming "overwhelmingly" white or male.

Another Hollyweird harpy from hell. This kind of cultmarx crapola is another reason I pray God’s wrath on those wicked reprobates. The “chiefs of Hellywood” are vigilant propagators of “the protocols” against Whites & Christians alike!

I'm trying to figure out why she is acting so important. It's another superhero movie, they've released about a bazillion of them over the last decade. Only a handful are even worth watching, the crappy movie she stars in definitely won't be. The "Marvel Cinematic Universe" releases about a dozen carbon copies of their formula every single year. Her movie won't even provide eye candy to the audience because she's a flat, man-faced shrew wearing a pantsuit.

Old Movies

When I was a kid, we did not have cable, mostly because it did not exist, at least as we understand it. Cable TV existed as far back as the 1950’s, but it was not common and the selection was no different from over the air offerings. It has been a long time, but I recall we had two network channels we could reliably receive over the air and two or three minor channels. UHF channels were local and played mostly re-runs of old shows and some local broadcasting. VHF channels had the national network offerings.

From the vantage point of the 1970’s, “old” TV shows were mostly things from the 1960’s, but old movies from the 40’s and 50’s were common too. In other words, if you wanted to peak back in time to the previous eras of American culture, you could reliably go back a decade and selectively go back a few decades. Bad old TV shows like Get Smart and Star Trek would go into syndication, but bad old movies were just forgotten. The old movies that were shown on TV were usually the good ones that people liked.

What that meant is if you wanted to know what it was like to live in 1945, you had to ask someone who was alive in 1945. You could get a little taste of it from watching old movies on a Saturday afternoon, but that was a stylized version. To really get a feel for the age before color movies and television, you had to rely on the fading memories of grandma and grandpa. Of course, this was true for all of human history until recent. It’s why old people are good at telling stories about the old days. They’re built for it.

Today it is different. I watched The Thomas Crown Affair the other night off the Kodi machine. This was the 1968 version with Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen. There was a remake of this in 1999 with Pierce Bronson. I had seen the remake a few times, but I never saw the original. In fact, I did not know there was an original. That’s a bit of interesting cultural data right there. Just about every movie produced over the last twenty-five years is either a remake or made from a children’s comic book.

What I found remarkable about the movie is something I notice whenever I watch old movies and that is the maturity. A movie about the cat and mouse between a male and female today will have at least half an hour of rutting and humping, along with some explosions and lots of vulgar language. The modern presentation of male-female relations is so crude, that porn makers of the past would have been offended. In the old days, the film maker and audience expected a more sophisticated portrayal of sexual relations.

That is the other thing that turns up in old movies and television. Hollywood made assumptions about the cultural awareness of the audience we don’t see now. In the Thomas Crown Affair, there is a long scene around a chess game. It was supposed to be a stand in for the sexual tension between McQueen and Dunaway. It’s a bit ham-handed, but vastly more sophisticated than anything you would see today. One reason is the typical viewer today knows nothing about chess, so it would be lost on them.

Part of that is due to Hollywood relying on international audiences to make money. You can’t expect to make money in China or India when your film is full of essential references to Anglo-Saxon cultural items. When you make films for the universal culture, you are making movies for a culture that does not exist. That means the goal is to remove cultural references, rather than rely on them to tell a story. There can be no subtlety and nuance without common cultural reference points understood by the audience.

The main thing that jumps out in old movies is the respect people had for themselves. The reason Steve McQueen was a star was because he played a role that was something men could aspire too. He would never have played a homosexual junkie or some other type of degenerate. People knew these sorts of people existed, but they expected them to be on the fringe of their lives and therefore on the fringe of their stories. Watch old movies and you see references to degeneracy, but it is always oblique.

Again, this goes to that respect for the audience. Just as the audience did not require thirty minutes of sex scenes to know the male and female were intimate, the audience did not have to see the gritty details of degeneracy to know it existed. The old movies assumed the viewers were adults who knew about the reality of life. Today’s film makers have to assume the viewers are retarded and need everything explained. Movies in late empire America are made for the recently arrived, provincial barbarians.

Finally, the thing that makes watching old movies worth the time is they offer a window into that long forgotten country of our ancestors. Unlike when I was a kid, young people don’t have to rely on old people telling them stories of the old days. Today, you can watch anything and everything ever made by Hollywood, even the bad stuff. Young people can watch YouTube clips from that country where humor was still legal. Most of it is crap, just as today, but it reveals what it was like in the bad old days.

More important, watching those old movies and TV shows, you can’t help but notice the early signs of poz being introduced. The stuff from the 1970’s is much more degenerate than the stuff from the 1960’s. In the 1980’s, the dumbing down becomes obvious as the makers started courting non-white audiences. It’s a good way to see how where we are now did not happen overnight. It was a long, deliberate war waged with patience and purpose. The fight for freedom will be long and require patience too.

This is an excellent movie I think. Also, look at Will Rogers (1/4 Cherokee - Cherokees attempted to throw out blacks from the tribe a few years ago but were prevented by the fedgov). Rogers was an outstanding man. Hope you like the movie.

I can't even remember the last time I watched the Oscars. It used to be a big deal, now it's not.

Now the movies are too counter-culture, too leftist to care about. And the ceremonies include too much political correctness.

Someone asked me which movie was going to win the Oscar, I told them whatever movie is about the holocaust or slavery or Jim Crow America. Bingo!
Winner: Green Room (Jim Crow America!) I should have placed a bet.

It’s an utter mess, glorifying anti-White movies. Here’s Mark Dice’s summary. He watches so that we don’t have to.

Yes, perhaps we should all place similar bets. Also, make sure to pick non-white women for Miss America and Miss Universe. That's an even more sure bet.

I just saw Apollo 11, the movie at an IMAX screen. Pretty good movie. It's a documentary using archive footage from the era. Lots of great 1960's majority white America and NASA Space Center. Also great to see the astronauts and relive the great moments of the first moon landing. I would recommend this film to everyone here, although it's probably on a very limited showing. See it in IMAX if you can.

Ron Howard directed that. About the only way nowadays to create a movie that's not a multi-culti or multi-racial mess, is to do period pieces. He also directed the movie "Rush" in 2013, based on a true story from the 1976 Formula One racing season focusing on the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Great film...highly recommend, and again...very White.

I tried to watch Mary Queen of Scots (2018) but I couldn't because it was really awful. It seemed the writer and director had a poor understanding of history. The dialogue was contrived.

Margot Robbie was great in I, Tonya (2017), but she couldn't do Elizabeth I properly.

There were Negroes playing English soldiers and playing a historical white man Lord Randolph. They had a Chinese woman playing a historical white woman, Bess of Hardwick.

Mary of Scotland (1936) with Katherine Hepburn and Fredric March is the best version. Also worth watching are the movies from 1971, and if you don't mind subtitles the movie from 2013.

Looks like Captain (Ms.) Marvel really played to mostly empty theaters and that Disney spent tons of their own money to buy seats to jack up the total take...and then the media plays right along (of course) by gleefully spreading fake news that it was a smash hit with people:

One of the story's on IMBD this morning:

Lauren Cohan, star of the new spy show "Whiskey Cavalier," divulges top-secret information about her favorite TV couple, which actress should play James Bond, and more.

Interesting and undoubtedly true. The media has constructed almost an entirely fake world to fit their (anti-White, communist) agenda. The success of the obviously scripted "reality" shows seem to have emboldened the puppeteers and now everything is lies and manipulation posing as truth.

Pathetic Weekend Box Office Results:

Shazam! $25.1M
Little $15.5M (100% "diverse" cast)
Hellboy $12.0M (atrocious opening results...original released only 15 years ago...no creative bone left in Hollywood)
Pet Sematary $10.0M (another unnecessary remake that wasn't done that long ago...early 90's I believe)
Dumbo $9.2M (from the always boring and soulless Tim Burton...completely unnecessary adaptation and remake...no more originality left in Hollywood)

Shazam isn't doing too bad considering that this is the second week for it, and it's a 3rd tier DC superhero. I'm actually surprised that it's done as well as it has.

I think little of Little. What a borefest this tired take on overbearing woman-boss trope must be. I guess it's no Devil wears Prada or even Working Girl.

Hellboy remake deserves the box office bomb. Makes no sense to have done a remake and this one is simply for gratuitous blood and guts to numb the masses.

Pet Sematary is similarly a much more graphic and shocking film than the original, actually more in line with the book. Not sure how much of a market there is for super-creepy shockfests like this. Might have legs in rental though like other similar scarers.

As for Dumbo, Why? Oh, that's right, it's an opportunity for the "new" Disney to preach to us about animal cruelty and how mean and nasty it is for the circus to have animal acts. Glad it bombed.
