Lots of boxing this weekend. I am really interested in the Dave Allen HW fight with Makhmudov. Allen looks in the best shape that I have ever seen him in. The Ennis vs Lima could be a good one as long as it lasts. Guido Vianello is trying to salvage his career. He is fighting on the Ennis undercard.

Yes the Allen vs Mak fight could be fun either way with Mak smashing Allen or Allen tiring out and felling the Bond henchman like Makhmudov. Maybe I am buying the Kool Aid but I think Allen is more than a live dog in this one and should be the "favorite" as Mak was looking very robotic in the sparring clips I have seen and there is a blue print on beating him by inside fighting and not letting him dictate the pace and distance.
If I typed in Dave Allen beating anybody but British flotsam domestic fighters before the Fisher fights I would have had to have been on mind altering narcotics but he is taking his fitness and career more serious than he has in the past and it could show on Saturday afternoon if he isn't caught by a bomb early.
Yes Guido is fighting a Franco-Canadian prospect in Alexis Barriere and he needs a win badly to get beyond a prospect gatekeeper level. Of course if the Canadian wins spectacularly he could be a prospect to look out for as he has only fought on Montreal area cards and has been largely hidden away from main stream eyes.
Updating the Allen vs Mak fight and Mak was able to box in a very shaky manner once he realized the human punch bag Allen wasn't going anywhere. Allen had a moment late in the 9th round where he staggered Mak and had him rocking and rolling but the bell might have saved Mak. After that the moment was lost and Mak largely boxed Allen with soft arm shots mixed in with the rare power shot.
Mak lost two points for holding but probably should have had maybe 1 point taken off his card for holding. I don't know where he goes from here as part of getting big fights is selling yourself as a killer or an elite boxer and he looked like neither. He may get offered b side work as a Bond henchman persona for a contender on the comeback trail or a prospect trying to break into the top 10.
As for Allen he will get offered B side work against British prospects or guys at his level as he is a British version of Joey Daweko but has one signature win over Lucas Browne the former WBA champion.
Guido in the end destroyed Canadian prospect Barriere but he had to wade through fire until the he broke through with combination punches in the 4th round. Barriere was nearly pulled out by his corner but was allowed to go on but he looked done and was felled in the 5th round and took the count on his rump not looking like he had the energy to beat the count.
Guido called out Joshua and it looks like he is promoted by Matchroom so he is another name that Joshua could fight in early 26'. Judging by how he looked he could be in the pole position over Mak.
Sugar Hill Steward was the chief second of the Franco-Canadian prospect the way his fighters have been losing lately I wonder if he is going to be the new Buddy McGirt..
PS Mak talked about breaking his hand at some point in the fight. He is quite proficient in English and doesn't speak in monosyllabic utterances. Similar to Valuev his physical image doesn't reflect his personality or intellectual capabilities...
