I am posting this weekly schedule update because of the Pulev vs Gassiev WBA regular title fight happening on Friday afternoon EST. This fight is in Dubai and should happen between 2pm EST to 3pm EST if the main event starts at the usual time that main events start in North America as this region is the same time zone as Russia. Pulev will make history as the oldest White man to defend a title at 44 years old and is a live dog in this fight but Gassiev is a solid 3 and half to 1 favorite probably just off of the good dozen or more year age gap.The Australian card is on Probox television and could be on a weird time for North American viewers as Probox just picks up feeds so the broadcaster would have no pull on the start time of the card. The Australian card has a comeback of one of the Maloney brothers and few White prospects too.
The Monaco card has plentiful White prospects and the comeback of Fisher but I don't expect Fisher to be fighting anything but a cannon fodder opponent. His next opponent could tell where he is if Hearn allows a live opponent in the opposite corner.
On the US card Lara is fighting a non descript opponent as unified champion Janibek Alimkhanuly failed a PED test and is suspended, he tested positive for the same drug as Povetkin before the Wilder fight. I expect a strip tease routine on all of his belts in the near future and he could fade into obscurity if he is dropped by Top Rank.
PED abuse has been a problem for 30 years in boxing and it seems that the majority of the elite boxers are on them. I saw two famous broadcasters/podcasters and they both agreed 80 to 90 percent of the elite boxers are on them. The first glimpse behind the door of the problem that I recall was in the Ali camp for the ill fated comeback against Holmes where his training team freely admitted they had Ali on diet pills to drop weight and appear to be his prime weight of 215 or so. These days he would have failed the PED test for something akin to speed.
Also in a sad note all action former fringe contender Ebo Elder who was something similar to a poor man's Provodnikov died in the last week of brain cancer. For a short window he was must see tv but similar to the Eurasian champion out of Siberia he was never going to have a long run with his disdain for defense.

Updating the weekend fight results and I must admit I missed the bouts on the weekend due to the college conference championship games but I watched a DAZN replay of the Fisher fight and the results were shaky. It seems that Fisher will always have a shaky chin as he was rocked by an undefeated but untested Slovakian prospect but dominated and stopped the opponent once he started gassing out by the middle of the 2nd round.
Fisher was originally slated to fight a full blooded African opponent who tend to be statistically strong opponents but in reality opponents that feast on awful tomato cans so maybe this was a jump of the grade opponent that Fisher was fighting but if he is to get beyond a fringe contender for domestic titles he will have to figure out a way to protect his chin or he will get shattered again similar to the second Allen fight.
Also Saturday has a packed schedule with a DAZN card and a Don King card with the rematch of Jack vs Mikaeljan for the WBC cruiserweight championship. Finally we also have a midweek do or die comeback fight for Tim Tszyu and if he loses this one his career could be in a death spiral where he could be only useful as a B side name opponent.
