Unless more WRs get hurt, Mike Hass has zero chance to make Seahawks, so this latest signing to bring him back is simply to have another camp body until the first cuts are made.

For any evidence of the NFL's racist policies against white position players, Mike Hass would make an excellent case study. Looking at his journey with the Seahawaks last year and this year, you can see clear evidence that he's been jerked around in favor of black WRs, some of whom have no business being on the roster.

Seattle has a very average WR corps. It's mostly the same unit from last year, minus Burleson who left for Detroit. In a fair world, Mike Hass should have easily made the team last year. And this season, the WRs are even weaker. Oft-injured Deion Branch should be cut, Deon Butler should be seeing action on special teams only. Mike Hass should be WR #2 or 3, easily. Even Seattle's coaches and management went on record last year saying they are "perplexed" why Hass hasn't stuck on an NFL roster, and that all he needs is an opportunity.

Hass was resigned to take the place of injured WR Isiah Stanback. I really don't know why he resigned with the seahawks, he will more than likely be the first WR cut when roster reductions have to be made. His agent should be doing more to get his name out there to other teams that need WR help. I hope im wrong but I really have no optimism for this working out well.

At this point in Hass' career, he probably doesn't have much choice, it's either the Seachickens or nothing. I figure that the best we can hope for is that he gets a little game time in the first couple of preseason games and is able to make an impression so that he gets onto the radar of other teams that might need a receiver when the injury bug strikes.

Deion Branch, Mike Williams, Obamanu, and a Deon Butler (former Penn State smurfette), huh? Yeah, how could Hass possibly hope to compete with these "all-stars?"Â￾

If you read the article, the author indicates the Seahawks black wide receiver coach never even bothered to learn how to pronounce Hass' last name. Just pathetic and completely disrespectful to Hass. Also, Coach Riley did not suggest that Hass retire in the article in my opinion. Instead, Riley seemed to be just as perplexed as any other football professional about Hass' situation. He also acknowledged that Hass is an incredible wide receiver, and that the CFL teams are interested in him as they should be. I sure hope he gets a chance to play in the CFL, as I'm way beyond tired of how the black NFL has treated him.

I think we all agree that the treatment Mike Hass has received from the NFL the past 4 seasons, especially from Seattle the last 2, has been nothing short of disgraceful. However, there's a part of me that thinks Hass has not made the best career moves on his part.

As soon as he was asked to waste away in a practice squad for the 2nd time, he should have figured out what the deal was with the racist NFL and taken his talents north of the border. He could have built a nice professional resume playing in the CFL, and I think that may have helped him get more of a serious look by some NFL teams. His success in college is now a distant memory and he has virtually no professional experience.

Even more shameful, despite knowing they will not keep him, the Seahawks aren't even throwing a bone his way. Let the man play for a quarter or 2, throw him some balls, and at least let him showcase his skills for other potential suitors. I really hope Seattle stinks this year, and I think they will. They appear to be a 4-5 win team at best.

It may not be too late for Hass. He should forget about the NFL for the next 2 years, go play some CFL/Arena league football, keep in shape and then come back again by the time he's 29, still in his prime, and give it one more try. It's far better than being jerked around in some training camp, and it's also far too early for him to give up football all together. I know he sounds resigned and frustrated in that article, but it's not over yet.

I highly doubt Hass will ever get a smidgen of a chance to play in the NFL. He's a white Freddy B. winner which is really, really bad news for him, because the white guy isn't suppose to win that award. They also parrot the standard line that he's too small and slow for the NFL without even realizing he's much bigger, quicker and perhaps even faster than many black receivers. Hass is swimming against the tide as a white guy in a very black league, and I believe he knows it, especially by now. It's my understanding he earned an engineering degree at OSU, not some basketweaving degree like Hooshiemangata(sp?) "earned." Hass said there was no guarantee of making in the NFL, even after his huge, productive career at OSU. At this point, I hope he goes to the CFL. The NFL doesn't deserve a great guy like Hass. Personally, I hope I'm wrong about all this and Hass magically gets a break at the 11th hour. I'm not holding my breath, and I think the same thing is going to happen to Toby G. if he does not completely blow away the league from the start. Remember, he won a major award for being the best RB in college football--big no, no for a white guy. The NFL will end up just the NBA.

The media regularly talked about his outstanding practices. He looked good in the first pre-season game after getting in the game early. He had three receptions including a "how did he hang on to that ball"Â￾ type catch. Then it was as if he entered the witness protection program. All media about Hass stopped flowing. I don't think he played in the second pre-season game. Mike Hass was an afterthought from then on. I'll always wonder if the Saints tried to be too coy and hide Hass so that he could pass to the practice squad with no problems.

That's why I'll never respect Sean Payton, in spite of his "snow patrol" linebackers. He had Hass, Chase Lyman, Chris Horn, and I believe Aaron Hosack in his first camp as head coach. Hass, Lyman and Hosack were all major talents, but all three were purged. Horn had the least talent of the four but somehow lasted the longest. The vast majority of NFL organizations don't know how to handle very talented White players at many positions. If they're not a QB, O-lineman or a tight end,they almost always get put through a prolonged racial apprenticeship or never get a meaningful opportunity at all.

Im pretty sure Mike's small window for a shot in the NFL has closed. I hope he does go north where he will set the league on fire. He was the player that put me over the top in terms of caste treatment, since than my only interest in the NFL is seeing how white players perform and I have become alot more outspoken with friends/associates about the treatment of white athletes and the very obvious shortcomings of affletes. I can list 5 teams off the top of my head that can use him but won't give him a shot: 1. Redskins 2. Panthers 3. Bears 4. Bills 5. Browns...these are all teams that have glaring needs at WR.

I hope he does get signed and plays well somewhere in the NFL but if not and he wants to keep playing the CFL would embrace a player of his caliber without a doubt.

Yeah, if he isn't allowed to play in the NFL, I'd love to see him in the CFL, but just not for Saskatchewan as they already have a boatload of white receivers and he'd probably just replace one.

If he does go to the CFL he will be an unrestricted free agent. Only Canadians are drafted. In some ways you can build a team quickly because of this rule. Also in the past suitcases off the books have helped land star players as the league has a salary cap.Edited by: white is right
