40 yard times are definetely overrated. Hass is only slightly slower than the average NFL wide receiver and ran a 4.6. I think the NFL average is about 4.55 or so. He runs great routes however and also has excellent hands. If he was allowed to play I predict he could average about 60 catches a season or so.

Don, thanks for the link to the Cleveland site. Here's some posts I made:

"Hass is a fantastic WR who won the Fred B. Award his senior year in college, yet he was thought to be too slow to make it at as a WR at a major college. Had to walk-on at OSU. So much for what the "experts" know. He doesn't have great speed, but he's not slow. Players like Anquan Boldin and Jerry Rice actually ran slower 40 yd times, but Boldin and Rice are black and Hass is white, so there you go. He's bigger and taller than most of the Seahawk WR's, but none of the gameday Seahawk WR's are called undersized as they are black and Hass is white. Hass also performs very well in agility drills, runs great routes, ALWAYS gets open, and catches just about everything his way. He produces, hence the Freddy B. award. In contrast, the Browns WR's are terrible at catching the ball, just like the Seahawk WR's, just like many if not most of the WR's in the league. It's getting pretty pathetic. Meanwhile, another talented white WR, Mike Hass, wastes away on yet another PS while the NFL is filled with (mostly black) WR's who are "great athletes" and can "run really fast" but CAN'T SEEM TO CATCH THE FOOTBALL. Hey Browns fans, you see Austin Collie, you know, the great (white) rookie receiver for the Colts who gets open, runs great routes, and has great hands? Hey Browns fans, you see Wes Welker, you know, the one who is definitely too slow (4.65 40 yd dash) for the NFL, yet always gets open, runs great routes and has great hands? That's right, you've got another Wes Welker, Austin Collie, future Steve Largent and Freddy B. out there just bursting at the seems to get a REAL chance to play on Sunday. His name is Mike Hass. You can find him on the Seahawks PS. Like most NFL football teams, the Seahawks are too dumb to play a great (white) WR when he's been handed to them on a cheap plated silver platter. BTW, do you know why Welker ended up at NE? The Pat Coaches noticed that none of their "speedy" DB's or Safeties could cover him."

"Since 2000, every Fred B. (FB) winner--save one--has been drafted in the 1st or 2nd round. Since 2002, every FB winner--save one--has been awarded a rookie contract of more than $30,000,000. Charles Rogers, the 2002 winner ran the fastest 40 yard time out the FB bunch, yet he has been the biggest flop so far. Fitzgerald has the SLOWEST 40 yard time of any winner, yet he is the best receiver in the NFL. You get that? The slowest FB Winner has been the biggest producer. There's been only one white WR who has won the award since 2000. No, he's not the slowest guy of the bunch and his agility times are very good, but he's making the mistake of playing while white. Unlike all the others, he got drafted in the 6th round and has been relegated to the practice squad. The black FB winners make 30 million+ and the white FB winner gets about 90k. Savvy?

If you compare Hass to the current Brown WR's, he's bigger than Stallworth, Furrey and Stuckey, and about the same size as the others except for Cribbs. His 40 yd time is comparable to Cribbs, Stuckey and Robiskie. Hass definitely has a better 40 yd time than Massaquoi, but is "slow" and "ordinary" because he is white. Certainly, he has way better hands than Massaquoi and Stuckey, 2 WR's in the top ten for dropped passes as of 10-26-09 per the Washington Post. Clearly, Hass runs better routes than any Browns WR and has much, much better hands. Like I wrote before, Hass is comparable to Welker and Collie, 2 very good white receivers who get open and catch the ball. Hass, like Welker and Collie, is much better than the current crop of Browns WR's, but as I said before, he's playing white, which is a big hurdle to overcome at the WR position in the NFL. In fact, I'm really surprised Collie has been allowed to play, and Welker barely got a scholarship at a 1A college and was very fortunate to get a shot to play in the NFL. Hass just needs a real opportunity to play. Watch Collie and Welker. If you like how they play, you will definitely like how Hass plays.

Finally, do a web search for "Mecca for dropped balls." There's a really good article that illustrates what I'm trying to convey. Although the black WR's on the Browns (and TE) are on the most dropped balls list, the writer of the article seems to blame 2 white guys, the QB and Furrey for the problem. Yet, he admitted that Royal was known for drops, and if you do your research, Massaquoi was also known for dropping easy balls in college. The writer even praised Massaquoi for his play and admonished Anderson for rifling the ball. Hey Browns fans, Hass never had a problem catching balls from Anderson, just your (black) WR's. Ah, but it's easy to blame the white players isn't it? Can't be the totally inept play of the Browns WR's. No way. Or way?"

Nice work, man. We need more CFers doing the same and talking up Hass when the opportunity presents itself. We know he's been screwed as badly by the NFL as any white player ever has. Danny Amendola and Lance Long and Nick Miller have all found roster spots this season; it's well beyond ridiculous that not one team ina league filled with receivers who don't have a clue has yet to play the great Mike Hass.

I would have much preferred Hass have been signed by one of the many teams who could use a real receiver rather than the hands of stone imposters so commonly found, but this is better than nothing:

WR Mike Hass signed to Seattle's active roster

Posted by Danny O'Neil

<DIV =>Wide receiver Mike Hass has been signed to Seattle's 53-man roster from the practice squad.

Seattle will have to make room for him on the 53-man roster.

There was some doubt about Ben Obomanu's status Monday as coach Jim Mora said Obomanu had suffered an oblique injury during Sunday's loss at Dallas and was undergoing tests.

Obomanu was the fifth receiver on Seattle's active roster and a special-teams mainstay.

I doubt he will see any playing time though. He was on Chicago's active roster a couple of years ago but never saw the field. Hatie Smith just love his affletes. TJ Houza whatever his name is actually slower than Hass but black skin privlege allows him to be a starter.

This is good news. I hope he gets to play some. Maybe Hasslebeck lobbied for him to get some time. Lets hope this is the big break he has been waiting for and he is utilized by the team because we all know how capable he is.

Hopefully some blackletes will self tackle and get injured by the turf and Hass will have a chance to shine.

Great news for Mike, but I'd also agree that we shouldn't get our hopes up for him in terms of playing time, as the guy he's replacing hardly saw much non-special teams action either. OTOH, it would be great if Mike could move up right away like Long did for the Chiefs and Amendola for the Rams, seeing important action soon after joining the club.
Also, I believe he has an engineering degree and must be tempted to start focusing on that in the back of his mind, so getting a nice NFL paycheck (even if for the minimum for a second year veteran or whatever he's pegged at) for at least part of the season has to be somewhat encouraging. Good luck Mike.Edited by: referendum

It looks as if he will be the fifth receiver on the team. In Chicago when he was on the active roster he was the sixth receiver. In all fairness he should be the third receiver at minimum. Eventually he could work his way up to become a starting receiver.

The fact that he wasn't cut means something whites have to pay dues before they get a chance to play blacks don't point blank. I think if Hass is given a chance and plays well then maybe he will have a chance to stick on the roster permanantly. We can always hope for the best I suppose.

Reb, I don't want the blacklete WRs to get "injured" by the turf, I want them to slip slide all over the turf and actually "injure" the turf "itself" and their reputations as athletes not "themselves". I don't want these blackletes to "tear any "muscle" I want them to get easily "muscled to the ground" and to "tear the turf" apart with lousy cutting ability and self tackling.

Maybe the superior Hass will show up these over-hyped blacklete 3rd and 4th WRs in front of him and Mora will be forced to give Hass a chance in the slot! Hass, show that coach Hatie Smith (who couldn't even pronounce your name, after joining the Bears, coming off winning college football's most prestigious WR reward) for the Hater Smiff he really is! Here's to Hass eventually becoming the Seahawks number 2 and reaching 10,000 yards in his career and making Hater Smiff look like the jerk he is!

I certainly hope that Hass gets a chance to show that he is unstoppable, and can actually catch the ball when it's thrown to him. If the blackletes do their normal thing and drop balls, that will help, but he's still going to have that "whitey" stigma. Just like Lance Long in his first Chiefs game,Lance was always open, and caught the catcheable, but was maligned by the talking heads after the game for not being "athletic" enough to catch a couple of badly thrown balls. I was ready to tear the radio out of the dashboard.

Just wondering. Is Mike Hass married? If he is, he's got a good wife. Many women would be carrying on tht he should go out and get a real job by now.

LOL. He has a real job Tom Iron. He makes several thousand a year I believe for being on the practice squad. Now he will be on the active roster so he will make a little more.

whiteathlete33,

I don't know if you're a married man. But in life, you/we must all listen to our wives. That's reality. It's a foolish man who doesn't listen.

If he's making a living wage, fine. I was just asking.

This is very good news for several reasons. As some have mentioned, Hass now has a little more than half the season to spend on the regular roster and make a decent paycheck.

If he's given the chance, he will clearly prove that he belongs as a legit WR in the NFL. Since perennially injured scrub Deion Branch will not be back next year, and Burleson will most likely follow him, this would leave Hass in a very good position for next year as the #2 or #3 WR.

But it all comes down to how much of an opportunity he's given. In a fair world, the Hawks would cut/bench Branch, and make Hass the #3 WR right now, this weekend. Let's all hope he becomes a regaular part of the offense instead of just being used on special teams. Sure, the guy he's replacing (Obumanu) hardly played, but Hass is a much better receiver than him. Edited by: foobar75

Basically what I meant to say Tom is that he is making more money on the practice squad than 99 % of Americans. Not a bad living but I would like to see him on the field on Sundays where he belongs.

True one of my teachers once said that for every great man in history there was a great woman behind them even they do not receive the attention. He then went on to say thats why he is such a great man haha

If anyone wants to boost Hass, here's an article that mentions him being activated. It has a silly but I guess innocuous reference to him: "Mike Hass is back, entering the gangsta rap phase of his professional career. He wants to taste your nectar, he does." The comments referring toHass below the article are by typical DWF know-nothings:

Hass was activated off the practice squad to likely fill a special teams role.

Hass is probably only here until they're sure that Obo will be fine.

The torturing of Mike Hass continues:

Seahawks waived WR Mike Hass. Hass was just promoted from the practice squad last week when Ben Obomanu sustained an oblique injury. Hass will rejoin the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Wow!! Talk about terrible treatment of a great athlete. Black receivers like Patrick Crayton who are the same speed as Hass are playing in the league.

That stinks. I believe Mike Hass has been jerked around more than any white star since I've been on CF. Its a shame!

I wonder what goes through the minds of the fans up there? I know that Hass played at Oregon and was a star receiver winning the Bilitnekoff award and scortching the best players in the Pac-10. So now he's on the Seahawks and doesn't even get a sniff of playing time?!?

Where I live when a reciever stars at one of the big colleges (Michigan/Michigan St.) it's generally assumed they are one of the best of the best to be competive at that level in the Big 10. They almost always go on to star in the NFL, Plaxico Buress, Braylon Edwards, Anthony Carter, etc. Even when they bomb like Charles Rodgers they get every opportunity to prove themselves.

It must be a really big disconnect for them to see Hass, who has been given no opportunity at all. What do they think? He must suck because he's white? Why? He played well in the Pac 10. I don't get it sometimes. At least give the guy a chance. He's a hometown kid that starred at the local school. This is one of the things about the caste system that baffles me. Always has.
