Skills eroded and speed declined? What is he, 27 or so? With not that many miles on him. Man, some people do age prematurely I guess. What a shame.
I'd like to know why he retired. Maybe it was his pride, as a former no. 1 pick having to beg for free agent tryouts. Maybe the humiliation of constantly being referred to as a coke-head by the media and dwfs.
Hopefully he has something productive to do with his life and can go about his life in peace. Every athlete's career ends at some point. Jones has an amazing caste busting legacy, particularly at Arkansas. A rare two sport star in the SEC and the best football player in Razorback's history.

the notion that Matt Jones' incredible athletic ability has "suddenly deteriorated" is laughable on its face. for a 26-27 year old athlete to suddenly lose his ability requires one of two factors: injury or lack of fitness. we've heard ZERO reports of either, so where does this "factual" report of him no longer being athletic come from? the evidence available should be more than sufficient to laugh off such a ludicrous claim. in fact, the last time he was on a football field he was uncoverable ... but facts, as is so often the case within the Caste System, don't matter.

I'm still a little shocked he turned down the offer to tryout for the Blackskins. Then again, the way he's been treated in the league he figured no matter how good he performed he wouldn't earn a spot on the team.

It wouldn't fit into their world view to admit that Jones's career was ended because he was a white receiver who led an all-black team in receiving. At the time of his banishment from the NFL, he was clean. He had already completed his substance abuse program and had served his mandatory suspension. Then he lost his wits momentarily and committed one of the most unforgivable sins known to man. He drank a beer while golfing*. If only he had done something minor, like mass-animal torture, or murder, then he would've been welcomed back into the NFL as a reformed saint. Perhaps he should've illegally sold gifts for cash without reporting the income. Then maybe he could've gotten his own special supplemental draft and gone to the Raiders. They like freak athletes, right?
(*Rumors around Fayetteville have suggested that this was a setup. That wouldn't be too unbelievable. The arrest rate for Razorbacks for minor offenses is astronomically high. Many have stated it's a game to the Washington County Sheriff's Office to nab as many Hogs as possible. Supposedly Matt came forward on his own and admitted to drinking the beer, even though no one could have known about it. But perhaps one of his playing partners was a planted snitch who threatened to out him. I guess we'll never know.)

Jones truly is a rarity in the NFL. He's one of a only a handful of white players who was convicted of a crime. His crime is mild(simple drug possession) compared to what these affletes do on a daily basis. The league has made an example out of him and shown that any white players convicted of even the most minor crimes will be banished from the league forever. The bruthas can continue to commit murders, rapes, and robberies and are welcomed back to the league with open arms. Just look at Burress and Vick.
"Wasted talent" for sure, but not due to his own actions. The NFL and the media love a redemption story only when it involves a black player.

They don't want a tall White man who runs like a deer (while appearing to be moving slowly) to be featured in the Caste System NFL. That would help knock out one of the supports that is propping up the Big Lie, that blacks are faster and better suited to being outside receivers. Matt Jones is a living, walking Caste Buster and the powers that be would have none of him.

Jones has been out of football for 3 years but he's only 29 years old.
A smart team would pick him up. He's the deep threat teams are always looking for.
If a team signed him it may take a little while for him to get back into playing shape but there's no reason he couldn't. He's a tall, fast long strider so he should play on the outside.
The treatment of Matt Jones shows the profound anti-white racism of the NFL and the media. Note that the media has used the time honored leftist tactic of ridicule in their efforts to destroy Jones's career.
