backrow,

Don't worry about that bum. He'll get what's coming to him. The thing many of us have a hard time understanding is that we don't get away with anything in this world. Nothing.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Jones to sign with an NFL team. It will not happen. It would have happened by now.

I would have to disagree on this one White Noise. Jones has too much athletic ability and skill to not be picked up by some team. Even his skin color can't hold him down. The question is when he gets signed will a team allow him to start.

"Cromartie, who is not married or engaged, has at least seven kids in five states. The 2007 Pro Bowler is now fully recovered from a fractured hip that hampered him throughout last season."

Geez, I'm surprised his hip held up as long as it did.

I hate to admit it, but WHITE NOISE is right. If a team was going to take Matt they would've done so. The preseason is right around the corner. Sure, he might get picked up leter if a team has some injuries, but he'll have 0 chance of starting. I'm prepared for the worst. Hopefully, I'll be surprised...

Derrick Mason announced his retirement today. He was one of the best possession receivers in the league during his career, easily the best WR on Baltimore. Baltimore was already an obvious team in need of someone like Matt Jones; now with the retirement of Mason, inconsistent Mark Clayton is the team's top receiver with nothing after him. Will they now go after Jones, who would be an ideal all-over-the-field target for Joe Flacco? If not you know the blackballing of Matt is all but ensured for this season.

Cases like these prove the existence of the Caste System. Discrimination pure and simple, but lets love the s*&% out of Ron Mexico and welcome him back with open arms. I'm so ticked right now I could scream!

The Ravens might sign Jones, who knows. I heard the Ravens may be interested in signing Drew Bennett.

The Ravens would be great. Flacco throwing to Matt Jones - I could live with that! I read about Tampa as a possibility, but that would be horrible. Maybe the Bears...Cutler would def get him the ball. I just don't get why it's not done already. That just makes me think that he will get stiffed like so many other guys.

The Bears won't get Jones, they'll stick to tradition and continue to play horrible blacks at WR. The Bears best reciever is Greg Olsen, who is still behind horrible journyman TE Desmond Clark, if I remember.

That'd be really good for Baltimore, Flacco to Jones. Tampa would be the worst place for him to go. I'd like him to go to Pittsburgh, with Ben throwing him the ball, but I'd better keep dreaming. A productive white WR would give Tomlin and Colbert heart attacks.

I've stated before I'd like to see him go to the Chiefs, he'd be the best reciever on the team, and he'd be Cassels favorite.

i was on some chiefs message boards and everyone kept saying that they dont need jones and that they have dwayne bowe. didnt dwayne bowe come into the otas extremely overweight and out of shape? i mean they traded tony gonzalez, so who does cassel have to throw to besides bowe?

Derrick Mason was in an small group of black WR's that actually EARNED the respect of the fans, the players, and the media.

He was a great WR, and played in many ways like a white WR (hands, quickness, toughness, consistency, humility). In a fair league, the NFL would be chock full of Derrick Mason-type WR's (probably 75% white and 25% black).

Nevertheless, hopefully Matt Jones takes his spot in Baltimore, who are super white-friendly on defense....but incredibly caste on offense. Or the Cheifs, who signed tons of white talent at nearly every position this offseason.

What puzzles me is how they found the alcohol in his system. Alcohol is very rapidly excreted from the body and shouldn't have been found in his system a day later. Especially not after just a few beers.

Great article. Thanks for posting it. He is a good guy. Matt made a couple of mistakes if you call drinking beer while playing golf one. He has done what he can to comply with the rules. He has come out of this a better person. Any team who gets him will be lucky. They will have the new and improved Matt Jones. A guy who will work as hard as it takes to make the Pro Bowl and to be a good person as well. Man would I love to see him go to Pittsburgh. I don't care where he goes, just as long as he can start or be a 3rd or 4th option.

I get giddy thinking about him signing with Chicago. Granted, it most likely won't happen, but Cutler throwing to Olsen and Jones would be amazing. Then Devin Hester can say that Jones' success is because teams have to double up on Hester.

The Bears are not interested in a talented, white wide receiver (check the Hass thread),so don't hold your breath. I want Jones to get on with an NFL team as much as anyone, however, if there were a chance of him signing, and getting significant playing time, teams would have been all over him by now... Don't mean to be negative, but lets look at the evidence, if he were black, the ink would be dry.

Prediction: The killer, Dulte Staleworthless will be playing before Matt Jones.

They didn't detect the alcohol in his system. Matt pulled the all time bonehead move of the year by actually admitting to the judge that he drank.

Wasn't he actually driving around a golf course drinking beer in front of people?

Either way it is a petty offense, considering the league of thugs he plays in. My patience is getting tried with Matt Jones no closer to getting signed with the season fast approaching!

I think it is unbelievable how a man's career can be ruined over drinking a few beers while other "affletes" in the NFL get away with murder and serious drug offenses and are welcomed back with open arms. On top of that the piece of trash Joey Porter said something during last season about Matt Jones not being punished. The "bruvas" in the NFL don't want Jones to succeed. For such obvious racism to be allowed is sickening.

You reckon some skunk, who saw this, squealed to the authorities, prompting a test? I can remember some writer entertaining the idea.
