i'm hoping the Colts will pick Matt up. can you imagine Peyton Manning throwing to Jones, Anthony Gonzalez, Dallas Clark, and reggie wayne? wow! that would be an incredible offense!

hey, a guy can dream.

i think every fan on this forum is hoping their team picks up jones. Id rather see anthony gonzalez get a shot to shine at #2 becaause they will put wayne at #1 probably, and Jones go to a team with no White receivers. Unless Patriots somehow got rid of Randy Moss and used Jones as the deep threat and Welker as the number 2. and they pick up Mike Furrey and have him in the Slot. That would be a dream team hehe. And they pick up Tony Scheffler at TE after him being released. Now thats a dream hehe. Well while im at it, Peyton Hillis gets released too and is in the backfield. that would be nice, well at least i can do it in Madden. that would be a great team. I can dream too :)Edited by: dwid

I've always considered the drafting of Matt Jones by Jacksonville a kidnapping more than anything else. I like Jimmy's idea of Matt going to the Colts.

Dwid, is there any early talk of the Saints being interested in Matt? Are the fans open to it?

Again Draftdaddy tells it like it is. Here's their opinion on the latest Matt Jones "scandal".

DD.comment: We are all for N.F.L. teams clamping down on bad behavior, but this appears to be a joke. Had Jones been caught snorting coke or rolling a joint, the Jags would've had no choice but to cut him as soon as possible. But kicking him to the curb for drinking a beer, just to please some blood-thirsty pundits in the mainsteream media, seems pretty harsh. Sure, Jones should've known better and not touched any alcohol while on probation, but he already payed for this small transgression by spending a week locked up in jail. Hopefully the N.F.L. doesn't pile on and suspend him, as he's already suffered enough for consuming a legal beverage during a golf out. Jones, who was on pace for 1,000 yard season before being suspended last year, should find a new team by the start of the summer, assuming teams aren't scared off by media members that over-exaggerate Jones' "troubled past". We know Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who played at Arkansas in the 1950's (or 1960's?), was quite fond of Jones prior to the 2005 draft and they do have a spot open with Terrell Owens leaving.

Rotoworld, which is widely read, referred to Jones in their headline announcing his release as "troubled." I remember posting here somewhere about how Chris Henry, after his 9th arrest or so, had also been referred to as "troubled,"in that case the word troubled coming nowhere near describing the kind of monster that Henry is.I have no doubt that Jones will continue to be lumped together with Henry, Pacman Jones and the other scum in the league to provide "racial balance." My guess would be that Jones is at worse in the middle of the pack if all the players in the league were rated when it comes to "troubling" behavior.Edited by: Don Wassall

I live in DC where Blackskins fans always kvetch and moan about the need for a big, strong receiver to supplement the 5'9 affletes they have now. Well, the good news is a big, strong athletic receiver is currently available (probably at a very low asking price too).

The bad news is he has the wrong color skin. Just ask Archuleta and Doughty what that skin color happens to be.Edited by: Liverlips

nah i havent heard anything, i wish, we might be getting rid of lance moore and we have drafted two tall wideouts Meachem (who has been a bust so far, cant line up in the right spots, runs the wrong routes) and Adrian Arrington (7th round pick, ir with turf toe), If we added Jones that would be a serious offensive power, him lined up with Colston, Shockey at TE, Reggie and Evans in the backfield, or a singleback set with Moore in the slot (if he stays) , either way its like "Who do you cover" , we have devery henderson as a deep threat but most db's dont respect his speed because theres about a 40 percent chance he will catch it. Matt Jones would add a real deep threat. We might not have to worry about the weak secondary or the fact reggie cant run in between the tackles hehe. We could just pass it most downs like we already do and run evans in some power plays every once in a while. Some posters are bashing him, a few wouldnt mind having them, most of the posters have something similiar to this to say:

"Way I see it is the guy had an addiction. He's not a criminal and he's not a big locker room distraction. I'd sign him to a 1-year deal at the minimum or just above it. Give him a chance to clean up, if he does then we just added another monstrous weapon to our offense. If he doesn't then, oh well, we tried and just cut ties at minimal loss. My biggest worry would he does clean up and he develops into a star with Drew Brees and we couldn't afford to resign him after his one year deal is done. Too bad it'll never happen."

Brees can make an average receiver look good, imagine what he could do with Jones. Just hope he keeps up the work ethic like he had in 2008 no matter what team he goes too, maybe he drank that beer on purpose to get released.Edited by: dwid

I think its funny when reading about Jones around the net making him out to be some sort of major criminal. I read on Ben Maller: "Matt Jones wishes Little Rock had an NFL team. M Jones got into trouble playing for the least popular team in the NFL. Can you imagine if he plays for the most popular in Dallas? He'll make Pacman look like a choir boy." Are you serious? It does not get more ridiculous than that. Matt Jones gets in trouble for one drug offense (which isnt excusable) and violates probation by drinking. Adam Jones has arrests, is responsible for an innocent man being paralyzed and just being riff-raff, a little wanna be thug gang banger.

Wherever Jones lands (assuming his career isn't overbecause of his felony crime ofdrinking a beer during a golf outing) let's hope he does get used as a deep threat and not just as a first down specialistlike he was with Jax with dink and dunker Garrard. Just about every article and forum post I've seen over the past two years calls him a possession receiver. Some call him slow, even plodding. Know nothings. . .

Im just astounded at the Pacman comment...cannot get past that.

I agree: That blurb was so completely ludicrous and white hating, I felt the need to save it in my collection of articles and hard facts against the caste system for the research project I'm working on. I put the Pac-Man comment in quotes and found it online.

Edited to add: Here is a link to that sissy boy Ben Maller's blog which holds that comment:

Yea and Michael Vick will be back in the NFL soon. More than a few teams will be drooling over this "afflete." His 53 percent completion percentage is incredible. I mean all he did was kill dozens of innocent dogs. Jones gets kicked off the team for drinking a beer. When will it end?

You're probably right, and it just shows how idiotic the upper tier of NFL management/ownership is. They (probably correctly) discern a small overlap between PETA members and NFL viewers. But NFL viewers who care about dogs being treated humanely is a whole different scheme; almost every white football fan I know--even the DWF variety--either has a dog or is kind to dogs. Most of them are going to be too ashamed to watch that piece of trash take the field, and I wouldn't be surprised if, like me, they quit watching the sport entirely once he returns.

At least Jones is now off the blackest team in the NFL. Maybe, just maybe he could land with a white friendly team like Green Bay or New England.

does anybody know how many white wide recievers are in the nfl?

If I'm not mistaken there was 16 at the beginning of last year according to an old post. That is just under 10% of WRs considering some teams keep 6 wideouts.

The good news is that this number should hit 20 before too long with Welker making the Pro Bowl and Curtis and Walter's showcasing of white ability. Also: around 20% of FBS WRs are white, according to another post on this site I read.

Of the guys from this draft: Collie and Hartline are likely to make rosters. Swift will probably get the caste treatment and be a practice squader at best.

I am hoping although not highly likely: Eric Peterman and Andrew Means (due to their freakish athleticism) and the productive Dicky Lyons (if he has recovered) can show something in training camp and Pre-season and get a shot. I don't think any other white WRs have much of a shot to make it through.

i think dallas would be a great fit for him

Problem with Dallas is that Jones would likely be at best the #3"possession" receiveras Miles Austin is getting an unbelievable amount of love from the DWFs as the Cowboys' annointed big play guy this coming season as the number two to Roy Williams. Austin has all of 18 career receptions, 5 in '07 and 13 last year, but all it takes is a couple of big plays and some speed for a black receiver to be viewed as star material.

Also, I have a hard time seeing a white receiver getting a fair shake in Dallas. Jerry Jones' track record as a Caste zealot is clear as can be going back 20 years now. I don't see that leopard changing his spots. A white player or two starting on defense now and then is as daring as the 'Boys get.

Jones can do better on almost any other team at this point. The Jags are just a joke with Garrard. Austin is half-white half black. I guess the one drop rule takes shape here. I actually played many pick up basketball games with Austin in Garfield, NJ. Yes he would blow me away in straight line speed but he is not very athletic. I actually was getting the best of him on the basketball court.Edited by: whiteathlete33

Jones would do the best on a team that has a quareterback with a strong arm, that way they can get himthe ball downfield. i think baltimore might be one of the best because Flacco has a cannon of an arm.

Exactly. Doesn't mean he's going to go anywhere better given that this is the fanatical Anti-White League, with the Jets and Cowboys, two perennial coal black teams, reportedly interested.

Good morning Gentlemen,

Of course, I hope Jones ends up on a good team and that he excells, but he's got to clean up his act. He's really made a mess out of things up to now. That's all they need in this league, to be able to point at a White guy and say look at him. We've seen that plenty before. The enemies of White people will be using him as a whipping boy for years to come now.

Haven't their been white free agents in the past who insisted on signing with teams that were unlikely to use them?

They seem as oblivious to the league's racial realities as so many high school kids are when it comes to colleges that won't use them fairly. Drew Bennett went frombeing a starter with the Titans, albeit on a terrible passing team, to taking over Kevin Curtis' perpetual backup role on the Rams. Now, he'll be lucky to see any significant playing time again in the NFL even though he's only 30 years old.

maybe they realize there is a small chance of getting a fair shot on any team, and feel defeated and dont want to try. That would be sad to think that they just want to lay low and not try to beat the caste system, I hope that isnt the the reason because there is hope and there have been Whites that have recently broken through at the receiver position like Welker but there are so few White friendly teams, maybe sometimes they think a particular team is the best possible scenario for them to start, and just get it wrong, im sure some of those guys were promised a chance to start (when someone promises a White person a shot to start, and they dont get a fair chance, i doubt they make a fuss). Didnt a White receiver who played for the Rams recieve a cheap shot in the knee last season? or was that the Seahawks?Edited by: dwid

Logan Payne of the Seahawks was knocked out for the season in the first quarter of his first ever start.
