nice article on rotoworld:

The Chiefs called Seattle after the fourth round Saturday to congratulate them on drafting Georgia WR Kris Durham.

"It's pretty cool after you pick a guy to have a team like that call and be like, 'Dang, that was a great pick,'" said GM John Schneider. The Seahawks plan to use the 6'5" Durham as a red-zone specialist as well as a backup to Mike Williams.

and hopefully more than that!

I'm glad to see Kris get drafted and hope he gets some decent PT this season.

Being friends and workout buddies with Seahawks' likely starting quarterback, might've helped receiver Kris Durham land in Seattle.

DD.comment: Durham reminds us a little of Jordy Nelson (size, speed, big play ability), who was selected when Seattle's fast-rising, young G.M. John Schneider worked for draft guru Ted Thompson in Green Bay.

Even though Kris didn't get a combine invite (of course), he tore it up at UGA's pro day in March. The 6'5, 217 lb WR ran a 4.4 40 y/d, benched 225 pounds x 17 reps, posted a 35" vertical leap & a 10-1 broad jump.

It was great to see a rare occasion where a white WR went about where he should have in the draft. If Durham had more production, he looks like a possible late 1st round talent when you consider his measureables and game tape. He was seen as the second option behind the top WR drafted this year, A.J Green, in the black supremacist SEC. He also got hurt in 2009, so the only solid production can be blamed more on the circumstance than him. Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

I don't know if "encouraging" is ever the right word when it comes to White players in the NFL, but this article at least gives cause for hope that Durham might not get screwed.

It's a small world

By Clare Farnsworth

Kris Durham, the big receiver the Seahawks selected in the fourth round of the NFL draft, needs no introduction to QB Charlie Whitehurst because they've been working out together in Georgia.

Hopefully, but I worry with Pete Carrol as the coach. He has a horrible track record with white players. Heck, he kept athletic Jordan Cameron- who became a highly sought after NFL prospect this draft- on the bench.

I just wanted to say Durham has very average speed for the first 10 yards he runs but from 11-20 yards I swear hes got a burst second to none thanks to the videos from DWID.

Here is a link to an astonishingly non-caste article concerning Seattle WR, Kris Durham. Here are some excerpts"¦

John Schneider likes those athletic guys.

The first clue came when Seattle chose Jameson Konz of Kent State in the seventh-round of last year's draft. Here was a guy who played linebacker his first three years in college and moved to tight end. He is 6 feet 3, 234 pounds with a 46-inch vertical leap.

Receiver Kris Durham is cut from the same bolt of extremely athletic cloth

"It had nothing to do with his height or his athleticism or his hands," Schneider said in a video posted on Seahawks.com. "It was basically all about the fact that he was able to jump over his mother in a parking lot ... And the interesting thing is his mom is actually 6 foot 2."

Durham has been working out with Seahawks quarterback Charlie Whitehurst at times this offseason, a connection that was actually made before Seattle chose Durham.

"He's big and he's fast," Whitehurst said. "And I think that was probably why we were attracted to him. I know that there was a lot of attention around the league with him, and we were probably lucky that we got him where we did.

"I've been working out with him, I've thrown with him, trying to teach him as much about I think we'll be doing as possible. Trying to get a little bit of a rapport with him, and I think we're accomplishing that."

In case anyone is interested, I found the infamous photo of Kris jumping over his mother in a parking lot"¦

One doesn't need to deeply ponder the real reason that the mainstream sports media has such a vested interest in shielding the white masses from the palpable reality of white athletic superiority. If black males weren't fraudulently manufactured into being considered the "most athletic race,"Â￾ then in what other facet of society could they conceivably be projected to adequately compete among white males?

Year by year, the racial caste system in America wanes a bit deeper into mass-irrelevance.

As I've a few times here, Durham has the size, speed, hands & athletic ability to be a stud in the NFL. He was grossly under-utilized at UGA (go figure right

Here's another article in which Durham is referred to as "extremely athletic." This is a guy who could be a big play weapon right from the get-go in his rookie season, but he has Pete Carroll as his head coach and probably Tarvaris Jackson as his QB. Collie, Hartline and Shipley have all played a lot as rookies the past two seasons, we'll see what happens with Durham this season.

Spotlight on Rookie Kris Durham

The Seahawks training camp started Wednesday, and according to wide receiver Mike Williams via Twitter, he’s impressed by rookie wide receiver Kris Durham, especially today, as Williams just tweeted this:

“In Hawks news.. What a practice from the young fella Kris Durham tday. Catching everything and lookin smooth!”

The Seahawks selected Durham in the fourth round in April’s draft. He’s got a frame similar to Williams (Durham is 6’5”, 215 lbs, Williams is 6’5”, 235 lbs) and runs the 40 in 4.42 seconds.

The FieldGulls.com’s Danny Kelly spoke with Durham back in May, and asked him “what his goals were for year one,” to which Durham replied:

“I want to come in and contribute to the team by making the receiving corps one of the strongest, not only in the conference, but also in the entire league.”

Kelly likes the selection of Durham, even though Seahawk fans initially might have scratched their heads in wonderment, and still might be puzzled at the selection.

“He’s an extremely athletic and fearless receiver that will go up in traffic to pull down a catch,” Kelly said.

“A guy that can stretch the field vertically to open up underneath routes for guys like Mike Williams and Golden Tate, in theory.”

Kelly says Durham will need some seasoning and time in offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell’s system, but he thinks Durham “could really become a good weapon.”

Another very positive training camp update on Durham. Man, we gotta hope that Charlie Whitehurst beats out Tarvaris Jackson for the starting job.

Durham made two very impressive catches on my side of the field. On the first one, he beat the Brandon Browner jam to the outside and went streaking up the sideline. Charlie Whitehurst threw him a beauty, both in timing and placement, 20-30 yards downfield and despite Browner's good recovery, Durham went up high to bring down the pass. It drew a large chorus of "woooo"s from the crowd and Durham's fellow receivers congratulated him.

The second play he made was similar - he streaked up the sideline and again, Charlie threw him a beauty (in all honesty, probably Charlie's two best throws - I don't think it's a coincidence that they were to Durham - the two of them trained together in Georgia all during the lockout). This time Charlie threw it to the sideline and Durham stopped on a dime for a back shoulder grab right before stepping out of bounds. Again, a big round of 'woooo's.

In general, he looks smooth and he's very long limbed and tall. He ran his routes well enough, as far as I could see, and I didn't see him drop anything. He had a good day. I know it's training camp and I know it doesn't mean a whole lot but he looked the part.

I hope Kris does see significant playing time this year. He would be really fun to watch, as would a lot of White players who probably won't see much action. If only White receivers were allowed to play on the outside.

Durham was placed on IR today after getting injured on Sunday. I wasn't even aware he had been hurt. He wasn't getting an opportunity in Pete Carroll's caste hell anyway, having just 3 catches for 30 yards even though he has the most talent of any receiver on the roster. Looks like a long racial apprenticeship is ahead now for Durham if he is ever to get a chance in the NFL.

His best case scenario is for Carroll to be fired and the team bring in a real quarterback. It will happen in a couple of years.

I wonder if this is a fake IR, sometimes it happens to rookies who won't play that year. The Patriots were accused of stashing players on IR to develop, but I doubt Durham is going to have much of a future as long as Carrol is the coach. "Hey we need a roster spot and we weren't going to use you anyway, even though you would probably outperform all of our receivers"
