we (rightly) emphasize the performances of our guys on the field, but so many of them are true giants off the field, as well. check out the following story which illustrations the genuine compassion of one of my favorite NFL players, Jordy Nelson:

ISHPEMING - Bubba Croley didn't know it, but on Oct. 7, at a birthday party for him and his cousin, he was going to receive a new Jordy Nelson jersey as one of his presents.

A Green Bay Packers fanatic, Bubba had chosen Nelson as his favorite Packer.

Instead, Bubba died in the early hours of Oct. 6, his family having been in a horrible accident with an alleged drunk driver while they were on their way to the Green Bay area for the family celebration.

His mother, Jodi, and sisters Taylor and Gabby were also injured and are still recovering from broken bones.

Yet Nelson was to touch the family's life in ways they did not anticipate.

After the accident, Bubba's father, Christopher, was speaking to someone about his desire to get an authentic game jersey of Nelson's for a shadowbox tribute he wants to make for his son, whose given name was also Christopher.

"One of my dear friends at the Marquette Police Department (David Schneiderhan) overheard that conversation. His sister knows someone who's friends with someone in the Packers organization," Mr. Croley said.

Later, Croley overheard his friend on the phone with someone and grew concerned from the bits of conversation he was hearing.

"I thought something was wrong with one of his family members," he said. Instead, Schneiderhan was trying to help make that wish come true.

"Then Thursday night, late, Dave's sister Tammy arrived and gave us a Packer flag, a Packer pen and this helmet autographed by Jordy Nelson, who wrote 'rest in peace, Bubba' on it."

Hamstring pulls can sometimes take a while to heal. Let's hope Jordy's is a mild one. From Weenieworld:

Jordy Nelson will be held out of practice again on Friday, and won't test his hamstring until Saturday or Sunday. The hamstring pull "sounds a little worse than first thought," says the Green Bay Press-Gazette. If he's not going to test the hamstring before the weekend, Nelson's best-case scenario is a game-time decision. We would have a hard time sitting one of fantasy's hottest receivers if he suits up, but Nelson will be dropped in our Week 8 rankings on Friday. If Nelson does sit out, Randall Cobb and James Jones are borderline WR1 options while Donald Driver and Jarrett Boykin pick up extra snaps.

Always wondered about these "ghost injuries" after the game. During the game right up until the end, players were on the field playing hard without any sign of injury.

Then come Monday or Tuesday all of sudden an injury springs up. Sounds fishy, but we are talking about the country's corrupt secular religion, so nothing surprises me.

When did Nelson's lingering hamstring injury morph into a knee injury? I hope he's not turning into the next Miles Austin or another of those dainty receivers who are seemingly always hurt. From Weenieworld:

Jordy Nelson underwent knee surgery Monday and will be out 4-6 weeks. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, doctors somehow still expect Nelson to be back for Week 1. The surgery is an attempt to correct an old nerve issue that's bothered him since college. Nelson did miss four games last year and was limited in a handful of others, but that was due to hamstring and ankle issues. He hasn't had any known knee flare-ups since 2009. Regardless, Nelson now appears highly unlikely to hit the ground running even if he does suit up against the Niners on Sept. 8. Randall Cobb, James Jones and Jermichael Finley all get a boost. Jarrett Boykin is the top candidate to replace Nelson in three-wide formations.

its probably just a routine scope that should be nothing to worry about. If his knee has been a problem then perhaps that would explain his injury issues. A sore knee would cause him to have an imbalance leaving him more prone to injuries, hopefully this will fix him up.

Jordy Nelson caught seven passes for 130 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the 49ers.

Nelson put on an absolute show. He was incredibly slippery after the catch and also made an absurd toe-dragging sideline catch that led to a fourth-quarter touchdown. Obviously, the knee procedure he underwent in August was a non-factor. Remember that before injuries railroaded Nelson's 2012 campaign, he was on pace for a 91/1216/11 line. Nelson, a wildly underrated natural talent, is going to have a monster year.

Latest word is that Randall Cobb (knee) will miss at least two games, while James Jones "might" be able to play after sustaining a sprained knee but probably won't. Jordy is going to be Aaron Rodgers' undisputed main target now, as the Packers only other healthy receiver is the awful Jarrett Boykin, along with wildly inconsistent TE Jermichael Finley.

I left a short reply in the comments, fair warning that site uses some crazy script that just drives my computer buggy (more than likely because of my computer incompetence) The article was very fair and none of the back handed anti-white hate you might find from some of the "world healers" at rotoworld, but the comments were that usual bunch of whites pretending as they are wont to do about the NFL being colorblind when it is not sniffing out "racists" and this only means whites.

With his 10 catch performance yesterday, Jordy went over 300 catches for his career, (302). Hopefully he'll be 1 of several white WR's/TE's to get into the top 250 all-time receivers and beyond in the years to come. Look for Nelson to get there by mid-season next year, needing 366 catches to crack the top 250. Honestly, Nelson should have close to 500 receptions already!

Sanders is a well known racist. He routinely supports all black causes and has even called white reporters "African American Killers". I really can't stand the turd. He tries to make it if not for his football career he'd still be a successful business man or something but deep down inside he knows he'd be a janitor or just another welfare recipient. I'd like to think Irvin is a bit different. Speaking of being sick, you would have never known it from his performance, but Packers receiver Jordy Nelson apparently had an upset stomach on Sunday during the 33-28 win over the Chicago Bears that sent the Packers to the playoffs.

Nelson caught a career-high 10 passes for 161 yards in the game at Soldier Field.

“He was throwing up on the bus afterwards,” Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Tuesday on his ESPN Milwaukee radio show. “It was kind of gross.”

Nelson made no mention of it after the game. In fact, one of the things he talked about was how pleased he was that he made it through all 16 games without any health problems after missing four games last season because of a hamstring injury.

In playing 96.5 percent of the Packers’ offensive snaps this season, Nelson led the team and established career highs for catches (85) and receiving yards (1,314).

“It’s been great just to play every game,” Nelson said after the regular-season finale. “The numbers will happen if you get to play 16 of them. Last year was a struggle for multiple reasons, I’ve never experienced that. This year has been great. I’ve been healthy, haven’t missed anything and knock on wood hopefully it stays that way. It’s been fun. It’s been up and down, though, but it’s been fun and it makes it that much more enjoyable now that we made the playoffs.”

Despite the absence of Rodgers for almost half the season, Nelson still had the highest reception (85) and yardage (1,314) totals of his career. Let’s hope the best WR on any team that qualified for the playoffs continues his great play with Rodgers’ return...
