Jordy is a reciever of exceptional talent making two 80 yd receptions to go along with a 60 yarder in his last 5 games. He could make them kind of plays everytime he's out there.Even though he's still under used i dont see any other reciever that is equal to him.His size, speed, balance, hands, spacial awareness, route running make him potentially the Federer/Djokovic/Klitschko of his position.Athletes that are far and away above the copetition. And with alot of these dominant athletes its one performance, like winning their first championship that elevates their play to another level and Jordys SB performance has done that for him. He's even better than he was towards the end of last season. The only problem is he's still being helD back from true super stardem. He could potentially get 150 to 200 yrds recieving everytime he plays espectially with Rogers another phenomenon throwing him the ball but this season its become even more evident that White players are not allowed to become super stars in the NFL.Thats the agenda behind alot of the Tebow hate.I dont think its because he's a dual threat QB,Jake Locker has a similar style and talent level but the media dont hate him,its purely because Tebow is potentially an even bigger super star than he is already.

A Super Bowl hero is crediting his eye-popping success this season to old-school racial stereotypes.
Green Bay Packers' receiver Jordy Nelson, who is white, has become one of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets and believes his skin color has been somewhat of an asset.
Nelson broke onto the spotlight a year ago by scoring a crucial touchdown in his team's Super Bowl XLV win over the Steelers, becoming just the fourth NFL wide receiver ever to post nine catches for 140 yards and a score in the Super Bowl.
Other Packers receivers joke that Nelson is the beneficiary of being the only white receiver on the team, suggesting opposing defensive backs don't think of Nelson as a big a threat.
Nelson tells the Green Bay Press Gazette that he's used this racial bias to his advantage. "Honestly, I think it is (a factor)," Nelson told the Press Gazette. "As receivers, we've talked about it. I know (cornerbacks coach) Joe Whitt tells me all the time, when all the rookies come in, he gives them the heads up, 'Don't let him fool ya.' That's fine with me."
Packers teammate Greg Jennings, who is black, believes Nelson isn't like other white pass catchers who've played in the NFL. "It's easy for someone to say, 'Oh yeah, he’s like one of those other white receivers,'" Jennings said. "He's not. I'm sorry. He's not. He knows how I feel about it. Maybe I’m a little biased because he is a teammate, but from watching him day one to right now, totally different player."
Among the top 15 NFL wide receivers in yardage, only New England Patriots star Wes Welker, the league leader in receptions and yards, is white.

Jennings went on to tell the Green Bay Press-Gazette that race is indeed part of the story. "He uses that to his advantage," Jennings said. "Don’t put this out there because that’s our secret. But no, seriously, he has taken full advantage of every position that he’s been in whether it be special teams with the kick return game, now being the No. 2 ... however you want to put it, he’s taken full advantage of it. It’s not because he didn’t put the time in. It’s not because he’s the white guy. A lot of it has to do with the fact that guys look at him say, 'OK, yeah, he's the white guy, he can't be that good.' Well, he is that good. He's proven to be that good, and it's because of the work and the time that he’s put on not only on the field but in his preparation off the field."
Apparently people have been underestimating Nelson for a while. He went from being a walk-on safety as a freshman in 2003 to posting the most prolific single season in Kansas State history, with 122 receptions for 1,606 yards in 2007.
Rodgers, the favorite to win league MVP honors, joined the conversation about racial perceptions with a teammate during Green Bay's blowout win over the Vikings Monday night. "I was talking to 'Wood' (Charles Woodson) in the fourth quarter and he said, 'When you see Jordy out there, you think, 'Oh well, he’s a white wide receiver. He won’t be very athletic.' But Jordy sort of breaks all those stereotypes," Rodgers said during his weekly radio show in Milwaukee this week. "I am not sure why he keeps sneaking up on guys."
Nelson has caught 61 passes for 1,082 yards and a stunning 13 touchdowns over his last 15 games for the Packers.
This season he's tied with Steve Smith of the Panthers for the NFL's top spot in yards per reception at an impressive 18.6. Nelson's seven touchdown receptions ties him for 7th best in the NFL, behind Detroit's Calvin Johnson (11) and the Patriots' Rob Gronkowski (8).

That's actually a very disturbing article. Of course, we know that black coaches and d-backs are allowed to negatively stereotype White players and joke about it. That is an acceptable double standard in this p.c. culture.

But Jordy's ignorance is stunning. First, it is evident to me that black d-backs actually come at White players with extra focus and determination, often with bad intentions. Secondly, Jordy is not the only White man that can run fast. If he had any racial awareness he would point out that there are a lot of very fast White guys that never get a chance to play wide receiver because of the ridiculous stereotypes.

icsept, most White players in the NFL are either ignorant about a lot of what we see or know enough to not talk about it in a way that endangers their career. There is a lot we can question in that article, but just the fact that they point out the bogus nature of the "slow White guy" stereotype is a positive thing to me. Baby steps is what it will take. Giant leaps forward aren't going to happen. I know it is tough to be patient, but we're in a long fight.

I don't like it. It's like Jordy is playing along with the back-handed compliment of "he's fast, for a White guy." He's down-playing his own success by saying that defenders don't try as hard against him. If he doesn't want to speak out against the racial bias in the NFL, fine. Then he should just shut up and let his play speak for itself.

How many of the NFL’s little black boys does Jordy Nelson have to absolutely emasculate before they stop “underestimating him because he’s white?” This laughable article was written for the sole purpose of providing a lame excuse for why blacks are being burned by his speed, out-muscled by his size and strength, out-jumped because of his athleticism, etc. The truth, of course, is that nobody actually “underestimates” Nelson. The MassExistanceMedia sees Nelson as an “aberration” that needs to be logically explained to the MassExistanceMan.

Aaron Rodgers, the ever-P.C. Quarterback, probably took great pleasure in uttering that inane drivel…he’s never been shy about referring to Nelson (and John Kuhn) as “not the fastest” and “slow.” Turd.

I’m eagerly awaiting an analogous article concerning the “smart black quarterback” that breaks “racial stereotypes” about blacks being highly unintelligent creatures.

What bothers me is that Nelson also claims it's true. We don't need the second best white receiver in the league saying these types of things. It just gives the DWF's and the media more ammo against white skill position players. He's putting up these numbers because he's fast, a great route runner, and also has great determination on the field. That's what he should be saying.

I'd say the writer came in with an agenda and then looked for quotes from Nelson and Rodgers (and the blacks) to buttress what he was going to write anyway. Every White person who is a public figure knows to step extremely gingerly when the topic is race -- just as blacks know they can make fun of and downplay White athleticism with impunity. As Col. Reb wrote, Rodgers and Nelson probably aren't aware of the Caste System to anywhere near the degree we are, and they are simply "playing along to get along." Some here like to criticize that, but put yourselves in their shoes. They have nothing to gain and everything to lose by not being "racially correct."

I've been reading the comments below that article and quite a few of them are very positive. Here is one I like alot.

Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski must have all of the other black defensive backs in the league fooled too. This does not speak well for the intelligence of NFL secondaries.

This is also a way for them to indirectly and "logically" imply that all Cornerbacks must be black since Jordy's skillset is an "aberration" for White receivers. After all, how could a White CB ever possibly hope to cover a black WR if (outside of Jordy (according to this article)) all other black receivers are better than all of the rest of the White receivers? Of course, just more lies and propaganda, nothing new for the NFL. Talk about "Fantasy Football". Indeed.

I agree that no White player can possibly gain anything by speaking in a racially aware tone and indeed would be crucified by the media, so there's much to lose. But why make things worse by playing into the stereotype? For Jordy, a much better response would have been "You know what, I don't worry about that stuff. I just go out there and play and help this team win". Case closed. Don't help advance the bogus agenda by agreeing with any of this nonsense.

I think I understand what you're saying Don, but what's wrong with Nelson just saying, hey I'm white, I'm good and I've been burning CBs and Safetys all my life no matter their color.

I'm not so sure they would lose anything, especially if they would reverse the situation and say, you're not going to take a black QB as serious because he may be lacking intellectually.

I like some on CF want these guys to just be more aggressive and take some pride in their race!

I'd love to see Jordy and others show racial pride, and we see inklings of it occasionally in articles and interviews, but the issue, besides the extremely constricted, one-sided ways in which Whites are "allowed" to participate in conversations about race, is that none of us know Jordy personally, thus don't know what he thinks or knows or believes. That's why I think it's unfair to judge or criticize what any White athlete says unless it's blatantly anti-White.

As much as we hope that they're "on our side," many are clueless, or even happily drink the Caste kool-aid. I hope that we're slowly making enough of a difference that many White athletes will eventually understand the Caste System and be more forthright in asserting themselves, but I don't get upset when I see these kinds of quotes because this is the way 99 percent of White Americans have been conditioned to think and speak on race.

It seems like every white receiver these days isn't given any credit no matter how good they are. Welker is putting up tremendous numbers this season, not to mention in other seasons, yet it's always something like "Well he gets covered by safeties and linebackers." A true deep threat like Nelson can' even get credit.

I guess Jon Ritchie knows the score, here is a playful debate about the subject........http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/gb/green-bay-packers

Playful!? That was one of the most insultingly anti-white segments in ESPN history. If the roles were reversed, they’d all be immediately fired, transformed into national pariahs, and need to go into protective police custody due to death threats.

I’d love to shatter the face of that gaunt little twerp, Skip Bayless, that obese half-wit, John Ritchie, and that chubby, broad-nosed little Negro-boy, Mike Hill. I doubt a hardcore beating would help their psychological sickness, though.

A photo of the “boys” sharing “a good laugh” at the expense of Nelson, and all other white males…

Right Thrashen! This is Al Campanis in reverse for anyone who remembers that incident on Ted Koppels Nightline over 20 years ago, when he said Blacks don't have the neccessitys to manage in Major League Baseball and don't have the buoyancy to compete in Olympic swimming. Campanis was destroyed after those remarks.

Now we have blacks laughing and joking about the supposed ineptness of white WR's. It's bad enough the idiot negroes are saying this foolishness, but to have a couple of panzy white idiots chiming in is pathetic on national T.V. and nothings done about this.

Is there nothing that can be done about this?

I'm open for suggestions from anyone on CF! Let me know on this forum or in a PM. This has got to stop!

Last night I heard that neo-con icon Limbaugh had something to say about the Jordy Nelson article yesterday. Looks like he's bringing up the hypocrisy of ESPN. I think Rush pays attention to the fact that there aren't very many White skill players outside of QB, although he won't discuss the root causes or the consequences. His comment about the polys is pretty ignorant; TEs? Anyway, I thought it would be worth posting here.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2011/11/18/packers_white_wide_receiver_surprises

RUSH: I have here an interesting story, and it is from CBS News. It's about the National Football League and the Green Bay Packers. "Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson goes by the nickname White Lightning. With good hands, quick speed, and four touchdowns in the last four games, Nelson has earned the 'lightning' part. But in a recent interview, Nelson reveals that part of his secret is that too many opponents get hung up on the fact that Nelson is, well, white. When asked by the Green Bay Press Gazette if racial bias is a factor in Nelson's on-field success, he replied: 'Honestly, I think it is.' Nelson and his teammates believe that, with so few elite white receivers in the league, opposing players are likely to dismiss Nelson's abilities on the field."

It's kind of like reverse racism here. What they're saying is that Jordy Nelson's able to sneak up on opponents because, as a white guy, he's not supposed to be that fast. He's not supposed to be able to outrun the brothers. "'As receivers, we've talked about it.' Nelson told the Press Gazette. 'I know [cornerbacks coach] Joe Whitt tells me all the time, when all the rookies come in, he gives them the heads up, "Don't let him fool ya." That's fine with me.' Packer teammate Greg Jennings said, 'He uses that to his advantage. It's not because he's the white guy. A lot of it has to do with the fact that guys look at him say, "Okay, yeah, he's the white guy, he can't be that good." Well, he is that good. It's easy for someone to say, "Oh yeah, he's like one of those other white receivers,"' Jennings, who is black, told the newspaper. 'He's not. I'm sorry. He's not. He knows how I feel about it. Maybe I'm a little biased because he is a teammate, but from watching him day one to right now, totally different player.' Quarterback Aaron Rodgers agrees with his receivers.

'When you see Jordy out there, you think, 'Oh well, he's a white wide receiver. He won't be very athletic,' Rodgers said on his weekly ESPNMilwaukee radio show. 'I am not sure why he keeps sneaking up on guys.'"

Hey, Aaron, it's just a damn good thing you didn't mention McNabb in all this. It's a damn good thing none of you people mentioned McNabb in this. "Eventually, opponents are going to have to dismiss the white receiver stereotype - or continue to pay the consequences. Nelson has caught 34 passes for 633 on the season, including seven touchdowns, making him second on the team in receptions and yardage. Nelson's performance brings to mind another prominent white receiver, the current league leader in receptions, New England Patriots' Wes Welker. In an interview with Miami's sports radio station WQAM, Welker admitted, 'I think even my own teammates look at me sometimes and think, "How the hell is this guy doing this?"'"

Reverse racism. The white guy sneaking up on the brothers. (interruption) It's the speed thing, Snerdley. It's not a talent thing. It's not hands, eyes coordination, it's not being able to catch the ball. It's a speed thing. White guys are not supposed to be as fast as the brothers and that's what they're all talking about here. Jordy Nelson sneaking up -- (interruption) Well, no, no, Jimmy "The Greek" didn't -- no. No. It was the exact opposite. Jimmy "The Greek" wasn't talking about this. Jimmy "The Greek" was -- no. No. Jimmy "The Greek" was not talking about white wide receivers. Jimmy "The Greek" did not say they were built. Jimmy "The Greek" said they were bred. That's what got Jimmy "The Greek" -- it's at Duke Zeibert's restaurant, and he said that the slave owners bred them and you could look at their buttocks and thighs and you could see that they were bred that way and that's why they're faster and so forth.

Jennings and Aaron Rodgers are agreeing that there's a stereotype in the league that the white guys aren't as fast and Jordy Nelson is, he's able to sneak up on these guys because the brothers don't think that he's gonna be that fast. (interruption) It's perfectly fine. It doesn't work with the punt. It's a speed thing. This has nothing to do with the quarterbacks. That was a whole different thing. Yeah, CBS published it. Aaron Rodgers said it on ESPN, he agreed with these two guys. (interruption) That's right, ESPN, that's why I'm saying if any of these people had mentioned McNabb -- (interruption) They didn't. What happened was they said it to the Green Bay Press Gazette newspaper. (interruption) I don't know, somebody had the concept. This story just didn't pop up out of nowhere.

Somebody had to think of the premise and then go ask these guys about it, and then they agreed. (interruption) Well, yeah, the Pacific islander guys, you don't find too many of them wide receivers. At best you'll find them as tight ends on the offensive side of the ball. No, you're not gonna get the same kind of comparison. (interruption) Well, these Hispanics, that's a whole different thing as well. None of that was part of the story. The story was based on the premise that you've got this white receiver who's excelling, doing really great, and he's sneaking up on people because the brothers don't think he's that fast, and it's a story about how amused everybody is that he's able to sneak up on these guys.

I agree that Jordy discredited his own athletic ability & that of fellow White WRs & DBs by giving a (un-aware) nod to this caste-esque fallacy. However, he's probably not aware of the caste system (as a whole) & is speaking from ignorance. If he doesn't want to take a stand for White athletes (probably because he doesn't get the big picture), he'd be better off just stating he's confident in his speed & athletic ability and gives 100%, etc. Like Don says, these White players would be summarily "black"-balled for taking a stance against the caste system...thus forfeiting their livelihood. :( Perhaps post-career (when financially stable) would be the best time to directly call out the caste system (if comprehended by then).

Limbaugh just rambled without saying much of anything at all. I guess that's why he makes $40 million a year. What a blowhard.

Yeah, I think the reason he brought it up was to take a jab at ESPN. I believe he did that because he can't get over what they did to him over the McDrab thing.

Everything about the article is disingenuous, except for maybe one paragraph. It’s a phony piece of you know what. Nelson maybe playing along to a degree with the silly notion. Peyton Hillis spilled the beans about the actual attitude the brothers have on game day toward White skill players and who’s to say that is not the reason he has been put under themicroscope. It seems Hillis has very few friends in football circles these days.
