What's the Brown's hurry in naming a starting quarterback? There are two preseason games left. Why not see how things play out?

This is a great post. Its clearly stupid as hell to not play Manziel IF you are concerned with winning, and/or money. Of course we know that teams are not concerned with winning, or money. If Johnny was black the playbook would be built around him. You know, like every black QB gets the playbook built around their talents.

Anything Scam, Wilson, or RG3 can do, Manziel can do better. Its that simple. Those guys all got drafted by teams that were going to build AROUND them before they ever took an NFL snap. Two of them set rookie records. I truly believe thats what this is about. They dont want to take the chance of Johnny Football having a better season statistically than those guys.
Mark my words, the WWE, ooops, I mean NFL will not allow Manziel to have the kind of success that he is capable of having.

Whilst i tended to believe that NFL teams what to win at all costs the Manziel situation does raise questions as to the Browns motives. Whilst it could be argued that he could benefit from learning behind a great QB ala Tom Brady and Jimmy Garapollo, he clearly isn't in that situation at the Browns with a journeyman back up all be it solid player in Hoyer. He is a first round draft pick who is very popular will make you money sell tonnes of shirt and win games with his playmaking ability what is there not to like in him, simplify the playbook get him on the field and let him win you games.

This kind of scenario does act credence to people who see an agenda and make people like me at least acknowledge there could be one, how can you not at least see where guys like Wes Woodead come from when such a prolific college player like Manziel is not starting at such a mediocre team.

I agree with Don. Manziel is a 21 year old rookie and time is on his side. If the browns were smart they should do there best to shield manziel from the media so bspn and all the other networks find something else to talk about. This isn't 2012 when the spread option took everyone by surprise. As it has been documented here all of the black quarterbacks suffered diminishing returns last year running out of the spread option. Let Manziel grow and adjust to a pro style offense out of the eye of all the anti white sports media outlets.

I do see how people think it could benefit Johnny in the long term perhaps but surely from the Brown's perspective you want him out there now trying to win you games what does Hoyer have to work with when he has no dual threat ability and no weapons with Gordon on suspension and Cameron most likely double teamed on every snap. From a football standpoint the Browns starting Hoyer seems a backward step. Hope Hoyer proves me wrong but Johnny's playmaking ability would win them more games. Johnny would give them a whole new offensive scheme with his running ability opening things for Cameron and even for new signing Tate with people focusing on Manziels running ability and creating chances for him no brainer in my opinion.

In my honest opinion, the Browns are stupid morons for two reasons.

1 First you don't have to decide a starting qb with two preseason games left. Manziel looked better than Hoyer anyway
if you look at the stats from the first two games. So none of this makes any sense.

2 You don't draft a qb top 10 anymore to sit him. Well maybe unless he is white. How could I forget that?

The city of Cleveland is dieing for a winner on the football field. They have went to the playoffs once in two decades. So
what's their answer, sit Johnny "Football" for nothing more than to hurt the kids confidence. You don't learn by holding a clip
board. You learn on the job with real life experience. Manziel needs to be playing from day one.

100% a huge mistake by the team. I only hope they wake up and smell the coffee quickly and reverse the decision. Hoyer is
a good kid but he is not meant to be a starter. He was average at best in college. He is lucky to be a career backup I like the
kid but he has very little upside. It's time to unleash Johnny "Football" and let him learn from his mistakes like we all do in life.

At the end of the day, Manziel is night and day a better quarterback in every category.

What the Browns should have done is drafted a couple of good wide receivers in the draft to support their new quarterback. They could have drafted Abbrederis and Janis without using high draft picks.

At any rate, I think Manziel will be starting early in the season.

Manziel isn't allowed to have any kind of life, he should be "studying the playbook" 130 hours per week:

Johnny Manziel's decision to attend a Cavaliers game last Tuesday night was reportedly "seen by some within the organization as a tangible piece of evidence regarding Manziel's failure to work as hard as he should to prepare himself to play." The report comes from PFT as a follow-up to Jay Glazer's initial report on how the Browns ended up settling on Brian Hoyer as their Week 14 starter. The Browns had the night off Tuesday, but the narrative states that Manziel should have been at the team complex or home studying his playbook. Now that Hoyer has fallen on his face again, coach Mike Pettine is right back where he was last week. Perhaps Manziel will draw the start this time if he doesn't go to this Tuesday's Raptors at Cavs game.

My bet is that Manziel works harder than Kaepernick, Griffin, Newton and others whose off-field activities are never scrutinized unless an arrest is involved and it can't be avoided. The media now wants Johnny to become the starter so that they can go back to tearing him down, ala the way they prevented Tebow from having an NFL career.

Johnny football hasn't had any issues since being a pro. Pretty pleased he hasn't. Him and Gronk are new age white guys who know they're studs and happen to party. Big frigging deal. Mantle and Hornung partied as well!!

This is ridiculous. Has he missed any team meetings? Has he violated any rules?

The anti-whites will make up anything in order to denigrate white people.

Lurkers take note. Manziel is being singled out for unfair criticism because he's white. Blacks who do similar things are not criticized. It's a racist double standard.

Joe Namath even capitalized on his playboy image. Isn't funny how cool, carefree and free spirited turned into being a jerk and obnoxious (if you are White). Matt Leinart could tell you all about it.

The media have a continuous need for a Riley Cooper/Richie Incognito type to bash in the football world. Since no white player is speaking up about racial issues because they know it would be career suicide, Manziel has been shoved into the role of Villain (TM) because every dumbed-down modern media story needs one. Hoyer, in contrast, has been assigned to a role almost of an honorary negro.

I'm convinced that these days white players like Manziel are demonized simply because they are popular with whites, because they have the charisma they do. More social conditioning. Only proud melanin enriched affletes can be their own man.

As I've mentioned before it seems to me that young white guys really identify with him. If his career takes off it will throw a wrench into the NFL mold of white guys being clean cut boyscouts with no swagger. Johnny Football is the type of guy that many under 30 dudes would like to be. Hard partier, getting the babes, attitude. Name one NFL white guy that has that public personna?

The anti-whites are really going after Johnny Manziel! They're going after him as hard as they did Tebow.

All they have on him is he didn't do well in his first start and he was late for a treatment on his hamstring and they're making him sound like a criminal who can't play at all.

Here's a couple of articles that show how Manziel is being bashed.

Johnny Manziel's Putrid 1st Start Has to Be Alarming for...

How Manziel Fooled the Browns

Lurkers: compare the media treatment of Geno Smith and Manziel. Smith has been horrible early in his career but the anti-white hypocrites didn't criticize him the way they do Manziel.

Manziel was given one game to start and now the team is "moving away" from him.

It always seemed like Cleveland drafted Manziel reluctantly; he had dropped and dropped in the first round, and someone had to take him sooner or later. It always came across as a reluctant pick, during training camp he was scolded by the team owner and by the head coach who basically told him to act like a backup. I'm not a fan at all of the way he conducted himself at A&M, but as with Tebow it's obvious the NFL and its corporate media arm wanted him to be written off as soon as possible.

A highly drafted quarterback should have at least one season and more realistically two to prove himself as a starter. I've been consistent in saying that about black QBs also. It is the most difficult position to learn in football, and according to system media sages, the most difficult position to play in sports. For "Johnny Football" to get a single game to prove himself and then be almost unanimously written off by the media and DWFs points not only to the incredibly obvious double standards and hypocrisy of the Caste System and its enablers, but also to the underlying sickness in American society that is resulting in most Whites eagerly participating in their own marginalization in every way possible in the U.S.

Don, you are right on target as usual. This is the truth that irritates me to the hilt about Whites in every walk of life in the ussa. We see it in sports but there is so much more to it. The Caste System is in full bloom and Whites are in a coma about in sports and everywhere else. They are so self-abasing without even noticing. Even to the point of the last 15 years of giving our women to kneegers without so much as a whisper of disagreement. And no, I don't mean Black citizens. That would be an insult to the small minority of Black men who are upstanding citizens who are repulsed by the TNB/hip-hop gangsta rap/ghetto thug/4 daddys for every ho/ crap culture that is 95 percent prevalent among them. But, White men have basically shrugged their shoulders at the number of even attractive White women who instantly become skanks by being an idiot/trendy fornicating whore. Whites (both males and females) years ago had enough pride to shun a White woman of ANY social standing that dared even fraternize with a Black male in any way other than a professional matter. The whole issue with Johnny Football is but the tip of a gigantic iceberg. However, it's not even under the surface. Whites have been so duped and utterly brainwashed they are marching obediently to their graves, dying willingly along the way if the media masters say "jump". Whites are slitting their own throats and smiling about it...

White men date outside their race more than white women, the blame should be shared by all of them.

Men should set the standard as leaders, as men. Not the other way around. Women should be more discreet. Most men now are morons.

The Manziel/Tebow media treatment has grown beyond absurd. One was ridiculed for being a virgin and praising Jesus and the other is for "partying." Stepping outside your house without reading glasses on while studying the playbook being the definition of partying. I googled Johnny this morning and the headlines were all negative and about his partying in South Beach with most articles viciously attacking every thing from his looks to his wealthy upbringing. Could you imagine the media making fun of The Gremlins appearance? And, by constantly using the word "partying" they imply that Manziel is going on a spoiled rich kid alcohol induced no holds barred all night drunk fest when in most cases he is doing something completely mundane like wishing Lebron James a happy B-day. And now, OMG, TMZ has photos (who knows if they are current or stock) of him having a drink in his hand surrounded by all of two people on NYE. Oh the audacity of that party animal.

So then just for fun I google "Geno Smith and off the field problems" - I haven't heard of any really. By doing a little digging, I find out that he has had "several" fights in bars this year! The media somehow isn't sure if these fights were verbal or physical (they don't seem to care to find out). I'm sure he wasn't drinking and was just upset at drunk patrons for distracting him from studying the playbook while he enjoyed a Shirley Temple.

I would bet a dollar to the donut that Manziels "partying" would in reality be nothing in comparison to any black QB's partying let alone the partying of black receivers and running backs in the league. Before Adrian Peterson's son died how many even knew he had an unknown amount of kids with an unknown amount of women? How many knew he "partied" all the time and got in trouble with the law with assaults and numerous high speed speeding tickets? The media would have you believe that most of the black quarterbacks are as straight laced as Dr. Huxtable when in the end they all turn out to be more like Bill Cosby.

The Browns signed Josh McCown to a three year contract. That's a good thing for Manziel, if they don't draft a QB this spring, as McCown ideally is a backup, especially at this stage of his career.

Meanwhile Johnny Football is in rehab. He may have been a lot more of a party animal and prima donna than we realized. Hopefully he can turn it around and become a quality starting quarterback, if for no other reason than to show up those who have already written him off, namely 99% of the corporate media and DWFs.

Either the rehab is needed or it's PR. It used to be that whenever a famous person came under fire for personal behavior the typical thing they would do is enter rehab and blame their problems on some addiction in an attempt to achieve victim status as a "sick" person.

It's not a bad move at this point as it may buy some sympathy and lessen the vicious attacks he was being subjected to by the media. There is also the danger that this makes him a high risk project and if he doesn't show anything on the field then he's done.

McCown has said all the right things since being signed IMO. He seems to want to help Johnny becoming a better player and mentor him. Hoyer did not offer that type of leadership/teammate mentality the way I saw it. He was fighting for the starting job with a chip on his shoulder and that was it. Hopefully McCown brings stability to the organization and provides Johnny with some life lessons when dealing with the media.

I am very happy the Browns signed a guy willing to help and mentor young Johnny. This of course makes the media ticked off because they know there is a good chance they have not completely gotten rid off Manziel.

Johnny Manziel was a raw but talented player who went pro after his sophomore year. Of course it was going to take time for him to develop as a pro quarterback.

The mainstream media writing him off after 1 1/2 games is ludicrous.

Apparently a lot of football fans can't think for themselves and accept the msm narrative. Don't they question anything no matter how ridiculous?

It's quite ridiculous isn't it? If he were black, he would simply "need more time" to develop. That idiot compulsive gambler Walter from Walterfootball is already calling for Manziel to be replaced. I've heard Mariota's name thrown in the mix. I like Mariota but to trade up to draft him while you invested a 1st in Manziel is absolute insanity.
