Korey Hall didn't get a tender, but suprisingly James Jones did not either.

John Kuhn was finally re-signed by the Packers. Hopefully some more good fortune (injured blacks) will shine on John Kuhn in 2011, forcing him into another “emergency situationâ€￾ in which he becomes the primary ball-carrier. Should Ryan Grant and James Starks once again succumb to injuries, Kuhn may be “permittedâ€￾ to excel in situations other than short-yardage.

From a York, PA newspaper…

Dover High School graduate John Kuhn will earn $7.5 million if he plays out his new three-year contract with the Green Bay Packers.
That's according to a report in the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

The newspaper reported that its sources said Kuhn received a signing bonus of $750,000 and an immediate roster bonus of $1.25 million. That translates into $2 million in guaranteed money.

The Press-Gazette also reported that Kuhn's base salaries for the three seasons are: $800,000 in 2011, $1.6 million in 2012 and $1.8 million in 2013. He also could earn another $200,000 this season based on how many games he's on the active, 45-man roster, meaning he could earn up to $3 million this season.

Kuhn can also earn $450,000 in roster bonuses and $100,000 in workout bonuses in both 2012 and 2013. The deal makes Kuhn, according to his agent, one of the highest-paid fullbacks backs in the NFL. Vonta Leach is the highest-paid fullback in the league. He recently signed a three-year, $11 million free-agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens.

I would like to see Kuhn run the ball more from the actual tailback spot. The carries I have seen him get are either from the fullback spot or in shotgun formation. It is really hard for a bigger tailback to do much from shotgun since they are usually lined up on the side of the qb 4 to 5 yards away from the los, they aren't running downhill when they get the carry, they have to run at an angle, this is why the pistol formation was invented. In fact most backs don't do well in shotgun which is why it is known as a passing formation. Most backs get like 5 to 10 yards on a draw play and that is the best running you see out of it.

Also makes you realize how special Woodhead is because he gets quite a few carries from shotgun, people criticize Woodhead for his lack of 40+ yard runs even though he has the speed but a lot of his carries were in multiple receiver sets you have dbs playing deeper and multiple defenders unblocked, it might be easier to get those first 4 to 5 yards but after that its all agility and making people miss which is why I think he is better than Jamaal Charles. The Chiefs would often use power formations with an extra tackle, you have all the players sucked in closer to the line, so if you get a crease there is usually only one or two players to beat after the initial hole if the line blocks right, if you look at Danny's big runs hes making people miss downfield compared to when he had the preseason game with the Jets he got that one crease and it was just straight forward. The Patriots did use power formations but for Lawfirm.

I got off subject but the point is I don't even think we have seen what Kuhn is capable of as a runner. Hes had a few carries as a tailback with lead blockers but usually goal line and a few short yardage.

I don't think hes going to be the highest paid "fullback" he will be a hybrid. They have another fullback on the roster even though they didn't sign Hall. I think using him more as a tailback and cutting a few pounds would making people realize he is much more than a short yardage specialist.

How did James Starks become a star back to these fans? one 100 yard game? An ENTIRE season isn't enough to convince fans that Hillis is a feature back. Ryan Grant was good but didn't have an elite skillset to begin with but worked hard, kind of like Pierre Thomas except managed to stay healthy for a few seasons. The way he has recently looked he shouldn't be anything but a back up. We haven't really seen what Kuhn can do.

I bet there is another CF poster on that thread. Pack fans are bad, but they are way better than the rest of the league's fans when it comes to the caste system.

Looks like good news for Big John:

Packers FB John Kuhn has been diagnosed with an "MCL injury," and will not require surgery. It's the best possible news for the would-be Pro Bowler, and means he should be back to 100 percent well before training camp. Kuhn signed a three-year, $7.5 million contract in July before leading the Packers in rushing TDs this season.
