JJ Reddick of Duke is having a incredible year.He has a
good chance at leading the nation in scoring. He has been
a star ever since he walked on the campus of Duke Univ.
He is already the All Time Best Free Throw Shooter in
the history of college basketball at 94%! He has led
them is scoring for a few years.Tonight against Wake
Forest,he went off for a career high 38 points. This kid
is a stud and is very confident in his abilities.JJ does
not back down from anybody.I love the way he plays.Duke
is now up to the Number 5 team in the nation.Good luck
to them in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

He is also starting to make better decisions defenive and a big part of that is he is working with Wojhowski.Wojohowski was one of my favorite white players at duke, but never went on to the nba. I hope he can help Reddick to have a prolific career.

Well i have been waiting for someone to post something about JJ on here. This guy when he is on his A game is one of the best shooters that i have ever seen. He going in to a mode like the way Jordan use to go into and you just cant stop him. Yeah he can miss and miss and miss somegames but when you have 5 secounds left in the game he will make the shot if all 5 guys is on him. JJ should be a very high pick maybe even 3rd or 4th pick of the first round.

I hope your right but I wouldn't be suprised is JJ went
late in the first round to the second round. The stupid
experts that be will say he is not good enough on
defense.Translation,he is white.Kirelenko is probably
the only player who gets consistant compliments on his
defense. They don't think we can play any defense. They
forget guys like John Stockton who is the All Time
NBA Career Steals Leader by a landslide.I guess that's
because he was too slow. What a joke!

You're right, WL, white basketball players are considered "soft."
Yes, we have the all time steals leader in Stockton, two time
Defensive Player of the Year and one of the best shot blockers
ever in Mark Eaton, and one of the best defenders today in
Kirilenko. But by and large white players are thought of as
shooters, passers, role players, 7 footers, and/or bench
warmers. We do need more good defenders though. That's
why AK47 is so exciting.

Redick is listed at 6-4. I thought he was a shade under that.
That should be tall enough to at least be a solid role player like
Fred Hoiberg. Spending several years coming off the bench
and scoring 10 points a game wouldn't be the worst career in
the world. Heck, Steve Kerr got 5 championship rings doing
just that! But we know that the people who run sports are very
superficial people. A 6-4 white sharpshooter (and who isn't a
point guard on top of that) is a big "red flag" for them. They
want young, tall, athletic, muscular black men. That's all they
want.

My guess is he'll get picked in the second round. And I'll be
very happy if I'm proven wrong and he gets picked
sooner.

It should be a great game today with Duke vs N.Carolina.
Expect the Tar Heels to try to rough up Reddick.Thats
ok because he is tough and will be a factor in todays
game.Go Duke.

I have been hearing a lot about Reddick, and how he is "the man" at Duke. He is fun to watch too. He's definetely the leader of the team, and is their best player. I hope he gets to play a lot in the NBA.

Awesome performance by Reddick last night as he poured in 35 points. He's like a waterbug slithering around the floor and draining 3's like they are going out style.Along with Adam Morrison,Reddick has to be the most fun to watch, although I'll add another name to my list and that is David Lee.I'm watching the game right now and Lee is banging in there fighting for the ball and scoring some.Lee is just plain tough and has major attitude, which is something more white players could use in today's basketball.

Well today was a great day in college basketball for us
fans here.Reddick led Duke to another ACC Championship
scoring 25 points. He is so much fun to watch as he puts
on a clinic of how to shoot a basketball.David Lee has
been one of my favorite players ever since he won the
national high school slam dunk contest. He pulled down
16 rebounds today to set a SEC Tournament Record! He also
had a monster 180 Reverse Dunk towards the end to add
the excalamtion point to Florida capturing the SEC
Championship.I hope he is in the College Dunk Contest
and I would love to see Florida go really far.Matt
Walsh is a great player for the Gators to.Some of the
teams I will be rooting for in March Madness are Duke,
Gonzaga,Utah,and Florida.

I read a good article on JJ Reddick. He knew he was going
to have to be in better shape in order to carry Duke
back to the Final Four again. With the team relying on him
he gave up his summer last year to get in the best shape
of his life.He gave up all junk food, and chicken which
he loves best. His mom cooked him healthy foods and he
worked out like a man possessed! In the process he lost
over 20 pounds and now weighs in at 190.He can play the
entire game without a problem.Being one of the top
scorers in the nation all year despite being double
teamed alot,I would say it has payed off. Also he was
just recently named ACC Player of the Year!Way to go
JJ Reddick. He is the best shooter in the country!

i will say he is probably the best shooter duke has ever seen. He still has another year to develope too. he needs to become a better lane penitrater. he seems to get cut off alot on his way too the basket. If he learned to do that this year he would be averageing 30pionts per year.

Hopefully he will improve his in the lane skills, and will keep getting good press. Then maybe he will go within the first few picks of the draft.

It's nice to see a white guy star at Duke again. When coach K first started building super teams, the majority of the players were white I believe. It seems after Duke established a great rep. they were forced to recruit the more "highly touted" black players.

Yeah, well, we see who their best player is, and he's just a junior!

Duke is like a lot of schools, who at one time had plenty of white players but decided that they needed the superior black athlete to keep their programs at that next level.Kansas,Kentucky,Indiana, the already mentioned Duke and even North Carolina who during the Eric Montross era had a decent white representation.Players like Rudle(spelling) and Salvadori were fine players for North Carolina during the early 90's.In fact Salvadori had a brief stint in the NBA.Speaking of Montross,in his senior year he was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. If you believe in such things as S.I. jinx, then you may think that is why Eric never madeit, or maybe it is because Mr.Caste came knocking at his door.Going back to programs like Kentucky and Indiana, once a black coach takes over he is going to recruit mostly black as is the case with Mike Davis, who by the way is a nut who has to go,and Tubby Smith who is also a nut but he isn't going anywhere. With Trent Johnson leading the charge in Stanford you may see less and less white guys there as well, but you can make an arguement for Stanford since they have a higher academic standard for their athletes.

JJ Reddick today was named the College Mens Basketball
Player of the Year.He beat out Andrew Bogut and two
others to win this award. To be named the number one
player in the country is outstanding. He is only a junior.
If only he could have gotten the trophy with Duke for
winning the Nat'l Championship.Congrats to JJ Reddick.

Redick finished second to Bogut in AP's Player of the Year voting. Anybody know the last time whites went 1-2 like that in college hoops?

I have to give props to JJ for scoring 41 points the other night. He hit 6 three pointers and basically scored at will.It is a new career high. It's really refreshing to see alot of white guys from the US starting to dominate in basketball again.I really would love to see Reddick take Duke all the way to the title.Go Blue Devils.
