So much misunderstanding. Putin is just a political personality, he is no emperor and did not make the decision to use military force in Ukraine by himself. Putin only speaks on behalf of the many political bodies of the Russian Federation.

The lies are fast and furious during wartime. Zelensky thanks Turkey for closing the Bosphorus to R.F. ships. Turkey quickly denies such nonsense and will not do that. Turkey signed on the Montreux Convention and that would be an act of war if they did attempt to prevent R.F. ships passage.

R.F. troops are telling the Ukrainians they are not there to capture Ukraine, that the R.F. does not want Ukraine, the Ukraine will remain Ukraine, but that they are after the criminal gang that has taken over Ukraine. The R.F. troops are telling the Ukrainians do not engage and there will be no fighting. The Russian peoples see having NATO in Ukraine as an invasion and they are stopping the invasion before it happens.

I’m sure Russia has no interest in capturing Ukraine. I’ve listened to Geopolitical podcasts wherein Russians make fun of Ukraine as a total joke. Ukraine is like the goofy kid in high school that desperately wants to be popular.

I don't think things would ever get to that as his government won't be threatened by Ukrainian forces as the furthest they would venture would be the edges of the their old borders. If he was truly a mad men and was willing to possibly destroy Eastern Europe you would think a coup would happen and he would be arrested. It happened to Gorbachev who was put on ice until the coup plot failed in 91'.

Kiev is now encircled and the Russian army is trying to out last the embedded defenders of the capital. Without an airlift they will probably wait out the besieged forces.

Putin will not be driven out of office, and the Russian Federation has long planned for this event, and the answers the West will reply with. India and China have already openly sided with the Russian Federation and revenue streams are facilitated and protected. While we won't be hit with nuclear arms unless the West does something reckless and stupid by attempting that on the Russian Federation territory or the territory of its allies. We could very well have an economic collapse or near collapse here. You are right to stock up and have a place to go to outside the cities where the vermin will be let loose.
