NFL.com scouting report on this bum. From the “Sources tell us” section:

"He's going to get beat up because he's slow but I like everything else he does. You would think scouts would learn about overestimating speed and underestimating tape. He'll go in the first but not sure how high." -- AFC Southeastern scout


We’ve been saying this here at CF since I can remember. When it’s a white player, any perceived lack of speed is almost certainly a nail in the coffin. But when it’s a black player, the narrative suddenly switches to “watch the tape instead of overestimating speed”. This guy has accomplished almost nothing in 9 NFL seasons but is still in the league.
 
A new breed of Tight End continues to flex it's muscle



COLTS – The Colts on Tuesday signed undrafted free agent tight end Carson Towt.

Towt most recently played as a forward for Notre Dame Basketball in 2025-26. Prior to that, the 6-foot-7, 250-pound athlete played basketball at Northern Arizona from 2019-25. While at Northern Arizona, Towt set the Big Sky Conference single-season record with 423 total rebounds in the 2024-25 season (leading the country) and recorded 20 double-doubles.

Towt did not play football in high school or college.
