I see very similar trajectory as Cunliffe at that age. Hopefully she continues to improve as she gets older. Her parents will need to stay involved as to where she goes to college, coaches etc and make the best choices for their daughter. I look forward to following her career..

Keep an eye on Gatlin Bair from Kimberly, Idaho. He's a 6'2" 180 lb. sophomore, who won the 100 meters in 10.54 and the 200 meters in 21.19, both wind legal, yesterday at the Boise Relays. Earlier this season he ran a 10.46 100 with a 2.1 wind. His times make him #4 for the 100 and #2 for the 200 in the nation for a 10th grader. Not bad for a white kid from Ideeho. His oldest brother, Peyton, was the Idaho track & field athlete of the year in 2019 but since has been on a Mormon mission to Mexico. Gatlin's next oldest brother, Jaxon, a senior at Kimberly High, is one of Idaho's top long jumpers and hurdlers as well as a good sprinter. Gatlin starred on the football and basketball teams, and already has college offers in those sports, but his blazing sprint times might turn him towards track. Most encouraging, in spite of his early outstanding times, he's not a man-boy type and looks like he has a lot of physical maturing remaining. Barring injury, he should improve significantly. He just might be another Matthew Boling in the making.

This is a new name I hadn't heard of. Haven't followed high school that closely the last few years. Please feel free to contribute more in the track or other sections. This kid sounds
like he has amazing talent for such a young age. You also say he has alot more physical maturing to go. That's even better. Our guys and girls hit puberty later and usually dominate
in sports a little later on average. So when one is special at a young age they really have a chance to shine in the prime time. Will have to keep an eye on him. Thanks.

I got a hot one for you!

Logan Popelka of Texas has run a 10.10, 20.96w, and 46.46.
Shades of Matthew Boling!

I need to find out more about that 10.10!

(Edit: Turns out the 10.10 was hand timed. Still worth about 10.3x automatic timing!)

Mia Brahe-Pedersen who I spoke about during the indoor season, has continued her incredible sprinting in the outdoor season.
This weekend she ran 11.43 100m, which is new personal best, and the 3rd fastest time in the country.
Let's remember - she's a sophomore!

Until this year, Popelka has specialized in the 100-200 double but Popelka will now be running the 100-400 double for the Texas state meet. I hope his coach hasn't made a mistake. Popelka has improved significantly from his junior year in both the 100 and 200 and I'm not a fan of moving natural sprinters up to the 400.

I agree. If your going to do 2 events it should be the 100 & 200 or the 200 & 400 meters.

I thought Popelka ran the 100m and 400m last year. Will check.

Meanwhile he is at the top of the Texas HS list in 100m, 200m, and 400m!
Pretty incredible.
Like I said before....shades of Matthew Boling.

Yes, last year he had the #4 time in Texas in the 400m.
So he's always been a 400m runner - - - just like Boling. ;)

Upon closer inspection, it seems that he mostly ran the 100m and 200m previously.
I saw an interview with him, and he's not sure what events he will focus on at the state final.
He thinks he might have the most success in the 200m and 400m, but he's not sure.
Last year he made the final of 100m at the state championships.

Anyway, the good news is that he's not a long jumper! Lol!

I found this young man while looking for football commits he is just a junior.
https://twitter.com/NickBiega

Nice find booth. Man he is a big boy especially for being a junior in high school. Yes he can really run and it sounds like he likes track. Even for guys that won't run it
in college or beyond it's a great sports for helping increase your speed, agility, jumping ability and coordination which a win/win in any sport you play outside of track.

I really think more white parents should get their kids into track at a young age. It really builds amazing athletes over time.

Neither of these guys have man bodies either, but I also don't know about their heights. Jaden plays as QB and looks to be at least 6 foot

I don't know about this guy but he is a senior from Florida with a 100m pr of 10.58 but with 3.7 wind. His wind legal pr is 10.80 which had no wind. His name is Joshua Lindblom he looks very tall and skinny but I don't know if those times are any good for a Senior

Cade Flatt of Kentucky, who I mentioned during the indoor season, is continuing his fast running outdoors.
He has a time of 47.07 in the 400m this season, which is 12th fastest in the country .... and he's not even a 400m runner!
He's an 800m runner, and his best time so far is 1:47.04, which is not only the fastest time in the country, but the 3rd fastest high school time ever!
The guy is a real competitor, lots of confidence and focus, and he's aiming to break the national record.
I think he can do it!

Mia Brahe-Pedersen - a 10th grader from Oregon, just ran a wind legal 23.23 (0.8w) 200m.
That's the 2nd fastest legal time in the country.

She's the next Abby Steiner!
