The following is taken from Monster Magnet's Superjudge album, which was released in 1993. It could have been the opening song on a phantom soundtrack to my dangerously nihilistic life at the time. Who knows? Perhaps it was...

I'm experiencing "technical difficulties" which have prevented me from posting within the current English Premier League thread in the Soccer section so let's just see if I can post here...

For some bizarre reason the following song has popped into my head today straight out of nowhere. Anyway, here we have the Canadian band White Wolf, with a catchy effort from their 1986 album entitled "Endangered Species":

There's bound to be someone on the forum who knows more about Les Brigandes than I do. From what I gather they are French Nationalist.

Even though I’m strictly a heavy metal fan, I think that Skid Row’s “18 and Lifeâ€￾ is an amazing song. I heard the song (which debuted when I was 3 years old - 1989), the other day and was thinking about the lyrics...

Ricky was a young boy, He had a heart of stone.
Lived 9 to 5 and worked his fingers to the bone.
Just barely got out of school, came from the edge of town.
Fought like a switchblade so no one could take him down.
He had no money, oooh no good at home.
He walked the streets a soldier and he fought the world alone
And now it's

18 and life You got it
18 and life you know
Your crime is time and it's
18 and life to go
[repeat above]

Tequila in his heartbeat, His veins burned gasoline.
It kept his motor running but it never kept him clean.
They say he loved adventure, "Ricky's the wild one."
He married trouble and had a courtship with a gun.
Bang Bang Shoot 'em up, The party never ends.
You can't think of dying when the bottle's your best friend
And now it's

[chorus]

"Accidents will happen" they all heard Ricky say
He fired his six-shot to the wind - that child blew a child away.

[chorus]

The song is clearly centered around an 18 year old white kid that came from a lower class home, began drinking and playing with guns, killed another kid, and was sentenced to life in prison. Today, a “death balladâ€￾ like this would be dedicated to the Trayvon Martins, Michael Browns, or Freddie Grays of the world, as there is no sympathy for straight, white men…

Sebastian Bach truly has some of the greatest vocal talents in the history of music.

Yes, good call on Skid Row's Sebastian Bach. His voice is incredible and very underrated, I think, in the industry.

Another song by Skid Row is "I Remember You" kind of a sappy love song, but exposes Bach's incredible range. Pull it up if you get a chance.

I was a big 80's rock fan, but I still think 70's rock was a little better.

...and as a whole, music has gotten worse with the passing of time. Today's music is no comparison to the 50's, 60, and 70's.

the talent was far superior in those days!

I vaguely remember Sebastian Bach being involved in some PC controversy a long time ago. I had thought it was about race but I did a cursory search and it had to do with homosexuals:

Bach was pictured in a metal magazine in 1990 wearing a T-shirt that read "AIDS kills **** dead" (a parody of an insecticide slogan). Asked by MTV News about the shirt, Bach laughingly said, "I do not condone, comprehend, or understand homosexuality in any way, shape, form, or size." In the face of mounting public outrage, Bach stated that he had friends who were gay and that he disapproved of gay bashing.

Bach just had an exchange with Ted Nugent whereupon he called Nugent a "racist," so apparently Bach has been polishing his PC credentials for the past 25 years. . .

Sebastien Bach married a Latrina and had children with her. After they split, he began "dating" some Wogess named Gupta.

What a waste. He could have fathered a beautiful white family.

I strongly recommend checking out Skid Row's 2nd and 3rd albums. After their initial MTV success, they progressively got heavier with each release. "Slave to the Grind" and "Subhuman Race" have some killer stuff on them that just wasn't quite as radio friendly.

The Scorps have some good tunes from back in the 80s. Some of my favorites are "Big City Nights", "The Zoo" , "Bad Boys Running Wild" & "China White".

As Dixie says, the Scorps effin' rock! And as Thrashen notes, Scorpions also have a penchant for the power ballad (long before the genre-within-a-genre went to cheese). Klaus Meine is just that skilled a vocalist, a flat out rocker one minute, melodic balladeer the next. Check out "In Your Park," "Holiday," "Always Somewhere," or "When The Smoke Is Going Down."

Do any of you guys like ambient music? Sometimes at night, or while driving and its dark out, I can use a nice, downtempo, chill-out, ambient song.

Here is an excellent one, Jennifer Rene is on vocals, she's also appeared in many of Armin van Buuren's tracks.

Am a huge fan of Chicane, who has released some fantastic songs of his own (starting with Offshore) and his remixes are always top-drawer. Here is one of his better remixes, of German singer Billie Ray Martin's song "Honey" (that is her in the photo):

There are vocals which start about 1 and a half minutes in:

Here is a pretty awesome house track. The vocals are from Foals, an English indie rock band (the lead singer is Greek-English male), and is remixed by a Bosnian-German house producer Solomun.

It's a pretty hot track. I always enjoy when a rock song is remixed into a house version. This particular remix is more dark sounding than most, but still a very enjoyable track. Currently on my music player!

Not bad BS2, I could listen to this while driving at night, or at home with a good beer buzz. Thanks.

Valentine's Day is once again upon us. Naturally, You despise all of this pink and red festooned ******** artistry but - **** it - she expects You to make an effort so You might as well make it. Being a well-bred gentleman, You've wisely decided against reserving a table at some noisy, crowded restaurant bursting with clueless, awkwardly dressed losers who only take their wives or girlfriends out for dinner once a year on February the 14th. Instead, You've invited the delightful Miss _____ to Your home for a "romantic evening"...

The entire gaff has been dusted, vacuumed, mopped, and polished and You've even finally bitten the proverbial bullet and spent a gruelling fifteen minutes of nose-wrinkling labour to scrub away that big, seemingly unconquerable dark yellowish-brown stain blighting the toilet bowl porcelain just above the rear low water mark. The things we ******* do, eh? After all of this effort, the painters had better not be in...

You've invested in a couple of bottles of Bollinger and prepared several courses of fancy grub to the best of Your modest ability (as everyone keeps bleating: "it's the thought that counts..."). This torrent of unusually complicated gastronomic activity has precipitated a substantial level of stress and as Miss _____ isn't due to arrive for another two hours You reach for the Kleenex and get one off for a bit of psychological relief (well, that's as good an excuse as any...). Following a shower You reinvigorate Yourself with a dozen fresh oysters plus three Erecto-Max pills and now You're sitting about in a quandary, struggling to decide upon which songs to select as apposite Euterpean accompaniments to this meticulously planned and frighteningly expensive evening.

Well, I'll bust the horns off this dilemma by recommending that You open with the following song... ;)

Here is a track from Junior Boys' new album released in the past month, they are an electronic pop- indie house act from Canada. I guess it could be described as "new house", "indie house", or "electro-pop". Very groovy. I like it :)
