Fedor to Face Rogers

Strikeforce announced today that Fedor will be squaring off against afflete Brett "The Grim" Rogers, but no date/venue is set. It should be a nice victory for the best fighter in MMA history!

I hope y'all are right. I have a bad feeling about this fight. Even before it was announced, I'd been hoping that Fedor doesn't fight Brett in his first fight in a cage. I don't know why, everything is stacked in Fedor's favor, but this fight scares me.

Shogun, I had some of that same gut fear.

However, I think Fedor has heavier hands, better ground game & an iron will.I can see Fedor taking him to the mat & getting the sub (as he did the "TechnoGiant"). Also, besides a weak-chinned AA, Rogers has fought mostly cans. I hope Fedor gets the KO, but a bone-breaking or "sleep" inducing sub would be nicen too!

Kind of a blase attitude DW fan, maybe that's how you cope with the awful thought of Fedor(baddest man on the planet) losing to a black guy. But Shoguns fear is based on the earthquake in the MMA world and the lift to the Caste System that would take place if Fedor loses to Rogers. I still am 95% sure that Fedor wins and wins easily but Rogers has KO power and so it can happen.

Rogers is only winning by a fluke punch that either cuts Fedor badly or ko's him. He is way over matched in all facets of the game, except for power. I see a submission win early. Rogers has fought nobody beside Arlofski and AA is chinny.

I think Fedor will win this fight and probably easily, but I'd most like to see him fight Brock Lesnar in the near future. This is looking very unlikely to EVER happen as the two are in completely different fighting leagues.

all that is trueDWfan(good point) but perception is everything and if the baddest white man on the planet is beaten by a mid level black heavyweight then that is not good for what we are trying to accomplish here. It wouldn't be the end of the world but certainly a setback.

Everytime Fedor has fought recently many have thought that maybe this time he has finally met his match. Every time he goes ahead and wins with ease and this time i see know reason for thinking that anything will change.

Fedor could in theory lose anytime to anyone from a one-off perfect punch but that is the nature of his business. Other than that I cant see him ever losing providing he keeps up his form and no one else comes along that is somehow as unhumanly good as him. He is more invincible than anyone i have ever seen fight.

Fedor will destroy him. Easily. In Rogers' "pro highlight" he knocks out james " the collusus" Thompson, and that KO is repeated 200 times. Ive never seen Thompson win a fight, so thats not really something to brag about.

I would say that Rogers pro highlight was knocking out former UFC champ Andre Arlovski and so Rogers is no tomato can. He can fight and does pose at least some minimal danger to Fedor.

Rogers isn't a can himself, but (aside from a weak-chinned AA) he's fought mostly cans. He does has size and KO power, but Fedor has an iron cast chin & has bested strikers like CroCop, Mark Hunt, Hong Man Choi, etc. Rogers has a slim "punchers chance", but I'm predicting Fedor by sub or TKO in round 1.

Nope. Then again, he isn't black, either. Have you ever heard of a black person referred to as a 'brown boy' in the South? I haven't; not saying it hasn't happened or doesn't happen, just saying I haven't heard it. I've lived in Texas and Georgia. Maybe Alabama, Lousiana, and Mississippi are different.

There are too many Mexicans in Texas to refer to blacks as 'brown.'

Yeah, in all seriousness, I have never heard Negroes (in the South, or anywhere else) referred to as "brown" or "brown boy." Only in non-Southern literature have I ever seen mestizos referred to as "browns." It's possible Jean Raspail's "Camp Of The Saints" refers to Piyush Jindal's kinfolk as "browns." (Don't recall; it's been to long since I read that book)

In the South, "colored" was once popular. It wasn't thought of as derogatory. (Hence NAA Colored People)

Proper use of slang is one of the ways we know if someone is authentic.
