Dustin Fox goes to Vikings.

Col, in the context of the article i think they simply meant that he had no shot since his whole family played on the other side of the ball:

"Two of Fox' uncles, Kenny Kuhn and Mark Stier, were Ohio State linebackers; another, Tim Fox, played defensive back for the Buckeyes and 11 years in the NFL. Dustin was a cornerback at Ohio State. Only big brother Derek shucked family convention. He played safety... at Penn State.

Carrying the football, you see, simply isn't done on either side of the Fox family tree."

backrow, of course that's what they meant "in the context of the article." that's why i pointed out that...

"i don't think they knew how true it was."

I hope he is able to play a decent amount. It would be nice to see him lay a nice hit on the big moufed antoni bryant who is a perfect example of the afflete's we here rally so hard against.

I was banned two years ago on philaeagles.com for starting a thread about
the uncanny stats regarding the number of Black NFL corners.

Im pretty sure it was one of the Black mods that pulled my thread and
yanked my account. I posted it around the time McNabb was talking about
how proud he was to have made it to the Super Bowl as a Black Quarterback.
He made it sound like he was Jackie Robinson or something. Donovan, the
NFL is now predominantly black....your making it to the Super Bowl is of no
significance.A White corner? Now thats a stunning development.

You think the Eagles would be playing up Fox, sort of like a modern day "Invincible" the movie about the bartender who made the Eagles back when white guys were allowed to play. I haven't seen the movie but it looked pretty good in previews. Anyone see it?

yeah i saw it, it's okay movie, nothing special... how's this Gridiron Gang btw? has anyone here seen it?

and whaddya know... Dustin Fox is inactive for 49ers game...

and next week Shepard will be back and then Fox will be lucky to even stay on the active roster... i really hope i'm wrong about this one!

EAGLES DOUBTFUL: CB Roderick Hood (Heel), CB Lito Sheppard (Ankle)

so there's a chance for Dustin Fox to actually appear in MNF, but i wouldn't hold my breath

I haven't seen it, and won't. All the reviews I've read have said the movie is targeted to blacks. The kids in the school are all rapists, murderers, and drug dealers, and the whole movie is about helping them find 'self-esteem.' The real-life coach who actually ran this school and tried to help these thugs was white, but of course in the film version he is black. Gotta get as much credit out of the film for blacks as possible, you know.

In one scene a father is convinced by Coach Rock to let his daughter visit the prison to see her convict boyfriend; this is hailed as a breakthrough scene for showing love and support for the 'kids' in prison.

No thanks.

lol, yeah i might pass on this one...

and back to topic, here's to Fox actually getting some play time! (insert a beer jug icon here)

NFL.com credits him with one tackle last night for the Vikings.

Yeah I saw him on the punt coverage team. He was chasing a ball the bounced out of the end zone, I told my buddy I was like, "Hey Dustin Fox!" Then like two plays later Consedine nails Driver and they both go down.

i seen him guarding jennings for green bay, and he didn't have fox beat bad, but for some reason he was grabbing his jersey like an idiot and they called interferance on him

Carroll was steaming trash. He was a guaranteed pass interference call each game. It's about time.

I literally did the same exact thing at the same exact time while watching the game with my roommate. crazy sh*t. lol

Also great to see Dustin battle back and finally get to play in an NFL, which has always been his dream. Hopefully he'll be a starting CB one day. Although that's probably wishful thinking in "today's" NFL.Edited by: whiteCB

does anyone know the date the last white cornerback:

1)started in a regular season NFL game ?
2)started for a whole NFL season?
3)was named to the Pro Bowl?

i think it would be an interesting piece of factual data. i'm guessing the last white corner to start a game would be Kaesviharn for Cincinatti... but of course it was due to injury of the "real" afaleet.

Sehorn for Giants (not sure whether he played in Pro Bowl but that's very likely)
Kaesviharn started several game for Bengals

Sehorn started, but never was voted to a Pro Bowl team. Scott Case made a Pro-Bowl team in the late 80's as Falcon. One year he led the NFC in picks.

according to most of the info i found on the ol "intra-web", Scott Case was a safety... did he play multiple positions?

couldn't see that coming...

Case was a shut-down corner, like Sehorn before him, and like Kaesviharn probably would have been too if he hadn't been demoted to safety so quickly.

ESPN ran a piece while Sehorn was playing CB about the disappearance of white receivers, running backs and cornerbacks. It had the usual pro-black anti-white slant, but theyleft ina commentbyCase to the effect that there were plenty of whites who could play cornerback but weren't getting the opportunity. A small bit of truth emerges frombehind the Iron Curtain of ideological conformityevery now and then.

I think in 1988 Case was still playing CB for Atlanta.
He led the NFL in Interceptoions that year with 10.
See below...

1988 NFL Interceptions

Interceptions Int
Scott Case, ATL 10
Erik McMillan, NYJ8&n bsp;
Carl Lee, MIN&nb sp;8
Terry Hoage, PHI 8
Vestee Jackson, CHI8
Mark Kelso, BUF 7
Gill Byrd, SD&nbs p;7
Eric Thomas, CIN 7
Deron Cherry, KC 7
Tim McKyer, SF&nbs p;7
Paul Moyer, SEA 6

He may have gone to the pro bowl that year. I'm not sure - maybe someone can confirm that for me?
