That's an excellent article.

I stopped watching SNL decades ago as it stopped being funny decades ago, but tuned in on Saturday as I was curious to hear guest host Bill Burr's opening monologue so soon after the election. Burr can be very "politically incorrect" not to mention funny as hell but knows how to play the other side enough to keep playing big-time venues and keep the money rolling in. Having a black wife with TDS also works in his favor.

Anyway, his opening bit was weak, seemed like he wasn't sure how to play it in front of that NYC audience so he was mostly unfunny, well below his usual standard. And if you watch it it's clear that SNL used a laugh track to help cover up the fact that he bombed. Probably won't affect his popularity but trying to go right down the middle in the aftermath of the election when Kamala provided such a rich vein of jokes comes across to me as cowardice, especially when a strong tide against the radical left and "wokeness" is so clearly underway. Disappointing is my verdict.

Agreed. Very awkward at times.

Trump's cabinet picks are pretty decent so far.

https://6abc.com/post/trump-cabinet-picks-list/15538044/

Stephen Miller, despite being jewish, was one of his more rightwing advisors last time so I'm glad he's back. Tom Homan is back now as the "Border Czar". He seemed to be a hardliner as Deputy of ICE last time. Zeldin (jewish) and Stefanik are Trump loyalist, who at least will not stab him in the back. Waltz, I'm not familiar with but seems the worst of the bunch so far from what I hear.

So it beings again. Elizabeth Warren is already saying Trump is breaking the law by not signing an ethics agreement.

Other than on the foreign policy front, Trump has made some terrific picks so far. Gaetz and RFK Jr. are the two best and they'll have the toughest time being approved by the Senate, which still has lots of RINOs. RINOs who had no problem approving the weirdos and ultra-leftists Biden nominated.

Ron Johnson of Wisconsin has become one of the best Senators in recent years, but we'll see soon whether Trump will be able to get the Republican-controlled Senate to sign off on all of his picks.

Speaking of Matt Gaetz, you will note that the media, Democrats and RINO's are all lathered up about the "ethics investigation report" that was due out in a matter of days. Since Gaetz resigned, he's no longer a member of the House so the report is DOA. Anyway, from what I've seen the whole thing was quite an elaborate set-up, not surprising when you know the players. You can read Gaetz take and his official response here: https://x.com/RepMattGaetz/status/1839341409582846196

Proud to say Ron Johnson is my Senator. I have been on a couple of his constituent calls with him and he truly seems to be conservative and listen to those he represents.

Seems that the "alpha" type black men have taken to Trump as well. The black women? Not so much.......LOL
