Detroit Lions General Thread

A breakdown of TeSlaa's scrimmage route-running by Braylon Edwards, who went from neutral on him after the draft to now saying he could be the big receiver heir apparent to Mike Evans and Julio Jones; and says they should have packages for him in the Packers opener, and possible starter because "Tim Patrick looks like a cheerleader out there."

They had the best weapons in the league overall already so TeSlaa will be tough for a CB3/4 to handle.

Sleeper late round DE Ahmed Hassanein, first-ever NFL Egyptian, was hurt in Dolphins 'game,' helping chances of Pat O'Connor who made some big plays down the stretch last season when the Lions' defense was bringing in guys off the street.

Kyle Allen beats out the elderly 2023 3rd round draft pick Hendon Hooker. Hooker was really bad all preseason and was cut. Holmes has been a good GM but this was a waste of a somewhat high pick.

The Lions new offensive coordinator has a pretty interesting background. He played college football at WMU and had a respectable 2 year career. Check out his pre-draft measurables. Wonder what caste stories he could tell trying to break into the NFL at WR in the hyper-black 1990s.

If he had a tan and changed his name to Skyy Moore he may have had a shot!

Very impressive measureables indeed. Let's hope that at the least he does everything he can to develop TeSlaa and his superstar potential as quickly as possible and dispenses with recommending racial apprenticeships and the rest of the bs White receivers often encounter.

Fourth round rookie Jimmy Rolder is primarily battling Malcolm Rodriguez to be Detroit's starting WLB. As always, preseason fluff has to be taken as just that, but Rolder is getting lots of positive reviews.

Jimmy Rolder could be the next intriguing piece of Detroit's defense

The American negro is a failed eugenics experiment, all the cash in the world, all the magic words based PR from all sides of the political spectrum and this FailClown is their Primo.

As we should all know the latest defense strategy for that demographic is lack of mental competency so I suppose we could ask if him or anyone else of his demographic are they mentally competent and accountable for their actions. Hey conservatives if a leftist is kept talking eventually they give you something to shiv them with, just saying.

Indeed.

We’ve all seen the term “black fatigue” gaining popularity amongst our population over the last couple years. Lately, I’ve been seeing more White people using “black exhaustion”. We shouldn’t have to live with these people and that idea is getting more common by the day.

More encouraging Jimmy Rolder publicity:

It's time to buy Jimmy Rolder stock before it's too late

Lions fans need to get on the Jimmy Rolder hype train.

The Detroit Lions got a lot of attention for their selections in the first two days of the 2026 NFL Draft. The consensus was that the Lions reached for both Blake Miller and Derrick Moore. Even though they both filled clear needs, many wondered whether Detroit selected them too early. This overshadowed what the Lions did later in the draft. In fact, a few of their Day 3 selections may already be proving GM Brad Holmes right.

At the top of that list is the fourth-round selection, Jimmy Rolder. The 118th-overall pick, the former Michigan linebacker, was drafted without much fanfare. As a one-year starter, not much was known about Rolder. After the OTAs and minicamp, however, it's time for Lions fans to buy some Jimmy Rolder stock.

Jimmy Rolder's stock has been steadily rising since the draft

In the minicamp that the Lions just wrapped on Wednesday, the defensive unit shone bright. On the interception-happy defense, Rolder reportedly stood above the others. His leaping interception was noted by multiple insiders as one of the plays of the week.

Justin Rogers of the Detroit Football Network highlighted the play as "an exhilarating exhibition of Rolder’s high-end athleticism and playmaking potential." Tim Twentyman of Lions.com included Rolder in his list of the five most impressive Lions of minicamp and underlined his instincts in the passing game.

This comes on the heels of Derrick Barnes comparing Rolder's football IQ to when Jack Campbell arrived as a rookie. How quickly he was able to adapt to the scheme and make coverage adjustments throughout the practice stuck out to teammates, per Rogers.

The sentiment was shared by the coaching staff, as well. Linebackers coach Shaun Dion Hamilton had a ton of positive words to say about Rolder and specifically highlighted the 'tremendous growth" he has shown.

DC Kelvin Sheppard praised the trajectory Rolder is on and expressed his satisfaction with where he is at the moment.

This can seem like usual offseason hype for newcomers, but this feels different. Head coach Dan Campbell warned against "pajama party" throughout OTAs and minicamp, where there can be needless praise and hype. There was far less of this this year compared to previous seasons.

Yet, Rolder still managed to earn praise. Compare the way the coaching staff and the players have talked about him to the other rookies who were selected this year, and you can see why Rolder stands out.

If Rolder continues this momentum, it will only be a matter of time before he takes over the starting role from Malcolm Rodriguez. The rookie will begin the season as a core special teamer, but he has a clear path to starting. With the way the offseason is going, this may be sooner than expected.
