Remember leaper and current Georgetown sophomore Mac McClung was listed as outside of the top 100 in high school rankings so every once in a while it is worth pointing out certain players who fall outside the top lists.

Two 2020 three star players of note signed with colleges. Both are very athletic which is why I am bringing them up.

6'5" SG Hayden Hefner has signed with Texas A @M. He has potential. Very light on his feet and is an excellent leaper. Is a very good shooter.

6'10" PF Patrick Iriel has signed with South Carolina. An explosive athlete who could also play center, Iriel has a nice skill set and like Hefner has the raw athleticism to make some noise . Needs to add some strength.

Thanks for the heads up on Hefner and Iriel Shadowlight. Good prospects for some Southern Schools. icsept also mentioned sharpshooter Trey Phipps committed to Oklahoma in the High School Basketball Thread!

Wisconsin's leading scorer Kobe King quit on the team yesterday. Earlier in the week he didn't travel to Iowa City with the team and now he's done. Good riddance, I think this move shows his true character to give up on the team with what 10 games left..A a boneheaded move, he'll likely have to sit out an entire year now (unless he makes up a fake racial harassment like Buckeyes Justin Fields did).

Anyways his departure means long time Sixth Man Brevin Pritzl will now be a starter along with True Freshman Tyler Wahl. Pritzl is a 3pt threat and Wahl brings a good energy to the court as a youngin.

The most hated man in College Basketball Brad Davison was also suspended for a game by the Big Ten for his nut shot against Iowa's McCaffrey. Hard to defend Davison at this point. It's crazy he was rated as a Top10 SG coming outta HS..

Iowa's Luka Garza just recorded his 10th straight game with 20pts. He's got 21 at Half against Indiana. Garza has been GREAT this season, single handedly keeping Iowa in this one. Guard CJ Frederick left the game before half with an ankle/knee injury. Hopefully it's not too bad. He's been spectacular as a Freshman shooting 40% from 3.

On the subject of Duke F Matthew Hurt will return for his sophomore season. Good move. Unlike a lot of players who have declared the past week or so. Talk about opening the flood gates. At some point I want to discuss Nico Mannion and Mac McClung who declared. McClung though is almost certain to return to Georgetown. He should. Mannion is not returning to Arizona and is projected to be a top 20 pick in the draft.

But Arizona just signed a quick footed high level prospect out of Estonia Kerr Kriisa. At 6'2 170 point guard he has a great profile. Nice find by Sean Miller. Second year in a row he recruited a white PG. Kriisa moves his feet really well so expect a defensive star from day one.

Other recruiting news includes 2021 6'5" SG Luke Goode signing with Illinois. Top 100 player who is a good athlete and can shoot the rock.

Very interested ( see above) where high flying Alex O'Connell ends up. I have to admit it was time to move on for Alex. I am more tolerant of Duke than many members here but Alex just didn't get enough playing time after three full years there. He only has one more year left though and probably will have to sit out a year too. He just needs a chance to start somewhere.

More odds and ends. Gonzaga big man Filip Petrusev has declared for the draft but I don't think he has signed with an agent. He was in the running for Player of the Year before the season got short circuited. The overall trend has been a boat load of players have declared and I think part of that is a result of the uncertainty out there.

Coltish Purdue C Matt Haarms has transferred to BYU. He will have one season to play and will be eligible. Intriguing but raw talent. Injuries have gotten in the way of his development. Live body.

Arizona signed another solid foreigner in Turk Tibet Gorener. At 6'8" he is a very all around good shooter that has some potential. Currently ranked outside the top 100 but a solid pick up. He has been on the radar for a few years.

Rice junior to be SF Drew Petereson also 6'8" has transferred to Minnesota. Brings a high energy versatile skill set.

Shocked to see the Younger Pitino being in Peterson!

Matt Haarms to BYU is interesting. Definitely a faster pace and should be able to spread the court more on the perimeter.

I hope Petrusev gets drafted, need as many White's foreign or not to get selected.

It seems Miller at Arizona has been in a nice run of bringing in pale faces.

I believe Alex O'Connell is transferring to Creighton. If he does I believe he will have to sit out a year.

Not a bad landing spot. I wish he would have ended up at a school like that to begin with. A lot of these 4 and 5 star recruits believe their own hype too much, unaware of the Caste System . They get blinded by the history and prestige of these schools without looking at full picture.

Thanks for the info booth. Not a bad place to land for the bouncy O'Connell. Yes it looks like he will have to sit out a year.

More on Alex O in a second. A similar player 6'7" Michigan swing player Cole Bajema has decided to transfer. Bajema barely played last year but he too will also have to sit out a year but he will have three more full years left. Bajema is getting interest from both Washington schools, Oregon, BYU and Gonzaga.

I like it when top white players land on big boy schools and I am willing to show patience as long as I see progression. But O'Connell's playing time at Duke was patchy for three years. He averaged 10 minutes as a frosh and 14 minutes as a sophomore. The thinking was for his junior year he would see a lot more minutes. Didn't happen. In fact they went down to 13 minutes and his shooting touch was down. It was time to move on. No discernable progress and a developing stagnation.

Let's see if Alex can break out at Creighton for the 2021-2022? He only has one shot at it. I think because his playing time at Duke was so unpredictable he became nervous on the court and it affected his play. If he could put together a stellar senior season he might have a shot at the NBA. Right now he is completely off their radar. I have to think his vertical is in the 40 inch territory.

Creighton has a star player from the country of Georgia coming in this season. Rati Andronikashvili ( that is the last time I post his last name and from hereon it is Rati) is a 6'5" combo guard who is an exceptional ball handler and passer. More of a slash to the rim type at this point who needs work on his jump shot. But Rati will add a huge dose of excitement to the program and he is a quick lively athlete to boot. Some consider him the best 2020 foreign college basketball prospect out there.

Appreciate the updates, interested to see where Bajema ends up.

O'Connell to Creighton should help him out a lot. He'll have a year to hone his craft and really shine his final year. I read an interview where his HS Coach and AAU Coach stated he expected AOC to come out and be a dominant scorer like he was capable of being playing HS ball in Georgia!

Nice to see Creighton with Rati! They've also added a Lithuanian in Modestas Kancleris! 6'9 .

**Forgot to add Drew Peterson is still available. Did not seal the deal with Minnesota just yet!

Drew Peterson ended up on The West Coast with USC. Not going to lie, would have liked to see him play a year in The Big Ten at Minnesota.

Drew Peterson did an about face by rejecting Minnesota. But they reeled in what many think is the best transfer in the nation, 7 foot Liam Robbins from Drake. I had never heard of Robbins until recently and he will have two years remaining. It remains to be seen if he will be eligible this year? Scouts are seeing NBA potential in a very athletic big man who has a big upside.

Even though it was expected that Mac McClung would pull out of the draft I was unaware he pulled out. But as mentioned in his own thread here McClung has entered the transfer portal and there are at least over a dozen high major programs being mentioned as landing spots. It seemed to me he was showing nice progression at Georgetown so I am surprised by the move. Only time will tell if this move works out better for McClung.

Georgetown is a mess. There have been too many players bolting this program well past red flag territory. C Yurtseven is the latest of a long line to leave and is staying in the draft instead of returning. Rather shocking when you consider HC Ewing is a Georgetown icon. Too early to judge his coaching ability but with the mass exodus over the past two years it would seem both Ewing and the AD have failed at a fundamental level. You just can't run a program properly with this sort of roster disruption.

Michigans white purge sends Castleton to Florida and Cole Bejama to Washington. Both of these schools were top white programs but thats been 15 years ago.

Good for them, looks like Howard is going to undo everything Beilein built .

Noticed Thon Makers 30yr old cousin just committed to a Historical Black College. He was #17 in country, now this is a trend I can support.

Around the time Steve McNair was put into a pedestal during my awakening to the caste system as an older teen/early 20 something - I do remember asking myself if these HBCUs are full of blacks why aren't these teams all dominating. HBCU football has never been dominant and they never seem to get far or have much of an impact on the FCS playoffs so it's probably one of the better arguments that do exist against black athletic supremacy and one I often overlook.
