Ha, I was reading Matt Miller's Top 400 lists and Calvin Munson at 6'0 5/8" 245lbs is undersized for an LB apparently. His top linebacker is the next Alabama bust who was only 6'0" 229 lbs but no issues with his size are brought up in the negatives section of his write up (this same LB was kicked out of the combine and yesterday was put into the NFLs Drug program for giving a diluted sample at the combine). I digress though - sorry to hijack this thread!

No worries, Leonardfan! No matter if white athletes aspire to play basketball or football, they'll face a lot of the same BS. Look at PG Collin Gillespie in the high school thread; he was the MVP of Pennsylvania's 2nd largest class, yet his ONLY major offer came from Villanova a couple of months ago. Weird, right? I wonder how many white ballers do the same thing, and don't get that one offer?

It was the same thing with Kentucky's Tyler Ulis. He was like 5'8 and black, yet nobody ever questioned his ability despite his small size. However, guys like Butler's Tyler Lewis or Marquette's Andrew Rowsey (both of whom I think were taller than Ulis) were no doubt degraded because of their size.

On the transfer front, former Oregon PG Casey Benson has a final three of: Wisconsin, Butler, and Grand Canyon. Good final three; obviously I hope he picks Butler or Wisconsin. I'd rather have him at Butler; the Badgers already have a PG in Trice, plus Brad Davison coming in next year, whereas Butler only has unproven Paul Jorgensen at the position.

Good news! Wisconsin adds UW Green Bay Guard Trevor Anderson via transfer!! Started as a Freshman for the Phoenix the Stevens Point native taking a risk and transferring to the Big Ten!

William and Mary forward Jack Whitman is transferring to Kansas for his grad year!! Wow! I didn't think that would happen. Cullen Neal is transferring to St. Mary's for his last year.

In addition to Trevor Anderson, Wisconsin picks up a quality walk-on in SG Walt McGrory, who spurned offers from teams like South Dakota State, Brown, and Drake.

Butler also picked up a quality walk-on from Utah in 3-point sniper Connor Fulton. He's one of the best players in Utah, also spurning offers from lower D1 schools like North Dakota to play in a bigger conference. He can make threes, as you can see from the below video.

Some breaking news today. Apparently Thomas Welsh and Mo Wagner and the Turkish center for NC State are returning to school instead of staying in the draft. None of them performed that well on the athletic tests at the combine. Svi of Kansas has about five hours left to make a decision.
On another note Syracuse just signed 6"9" Slovakian Marek Dolezaj. Quite a surprise to me as he is rated as a four star recruit plus word is he is very athletic. Nice late pick up for the Orange class of 2017.

This just in. I know JL will be happy. Svi is staying at Kansas for his senior year. All of the young men staying in school are making the right decision. Good for them for making the mature move. And good for college basketball. I am not totally satisfied for I felt none of the white underclass players who stayed in the draft made the correct decision but at least a few of the potentially lower drafted guys chose to stay in school.

I see the best white player in the Class of 2018 in Joey Hauser is off the board... to Marquette! Although their last two recruiting classes have been fairly black, Marquette looks like they'll remain a team to root for in the future with the addition of Joey. Wisconsin and Marquette now have the two white best players in 2018 in Hauser and guard Tyler Herro. Should be some fun basketball played in that state the next few years!

A couple of international commits that were a bit late:

2017 PG Illya Tyrtyshynyk out of Ukraine has signed with Ole Miss!! The Rebels will be a team to root for next season, believe or not.

Syracuse landed the commit of 6-9 Slovakian forward Marek Dolezaj, who is one of the most sought after prospects in Europe. He should make an instant impact for the Orange. Now if only Tyler Lydon stayed in school...

Butler has hired LaVall Jordan, who played at Butler in the late 90's and early 2000's, to replace the departed Chris Holtman (who took Thad's old job). I'm interested to see what happens here. Butler always has had some white players, and Jordan should definitely know who they've recruited to be successful. I'm curious to see if he'll keep it up, or recruit like the vast majority of black coaches do and turn the Bulldogs into a perenially black program. If a black coach is going to buck that trend, Jordan is as good of a bet as any to do so. Jordan has also been on Todd Lickliter's Butler and Iowa staffs as well Jon Beilien's Michigan staff (bringing Michigan assistant Jeff Meyer to Butler with him), so he's been around white friendly teams his whole basketball career, so I'm hoping he'll buck that trend and keep some white players on the Bulldogs.

Good pickup for the Boilers indeed. It looks like Purdue will remain on our "teams to watch" list for a couple more years!! They should have three white starters for next year now, with Haarms, Boudreaux, and Ryan Cline, plus Grady Eifert and hopefully Sasha Stefanovic off the bench.

Come to the think of it, the Big 10 will be a great basketball conference for us next year. Just a look at the possible teams:

Iowa - 3 white starters and a bunch of white backups.
Wisconsin - 2-3 white starters and a bunch of white backups.
Michigan - I'd guess 1-2 white starters and a white backup or two.
Michigan State - If the right people leave, you'll see a much whiter Spartan team than the last few years. Matt McQuaid should hopefully be starting his senior year, plus the Spartans get forward Kyle Ahrens back from injury, while adding two freshman in stud PG Foster Loyer and PF Thomas Kithier.
Maryland - Kevin Huerter and Ivan Bender
Penn State - at least one white starter with potentially 2 white players off the bench.
Ohio State - one white starter with two white players off the bench.
Teams like Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota, etc. all have white players who'll be a part of the rotation. It looks like Nebraska might well be the only Big 10 team with an all-black rotation!! Hey, at least one "power" conference will have some diversity.

Wow good for Hankins, was able to watch him in that D2 championship. Came away very impressed. Double double machine and one of the top shot blockers in D2. Should fit in nicely with Kanter and O'Mara gone. Too bad he ends up in Cincy and not Madison. Would have been a joy to see him paired with Happ!

No one saw this coming. NCS center Omer Yurtseven has transferred to Mac McClung's new school Georgetown. Odd move. First he has to sit out the whole season which comes as a surprise from a player who has hinted more than once about turning pro.

That said perhaps he wants to work with Patrick Ewing and hone his skills in order to be better prepared for the next level. I don't like the idea of missing out on a whole season but I applaud the fact he is willing to show patience and at the end of the day I suspect this move will only enhance his draft prospects down the road.

Too bad just declared Mo Wagner is prematurely (in my mind) jumping to the NBA.

SL odd indeed. Count me in as one of those that thought he had already declared. Popped up on plenty of mock drafts.

I'm 50/50 on Wagner . Tall, lanky, moves well. Underrated athlete of course, good shooter. To me he's more complete in his all around game compared to Happ. I think he can contribute right away as a spark plug off the bench with room to grow into starter.

Happ has said that he is coming back if he's not ranked 1st rounder after the NBA Combine. I for one hope he's back next season.. His midrange and free throws still need polishing and he is no doubt an integral part of his schools perceived success.

Villanova hero Donte D will test the NBA draft waters but has not hired an agent. The smart move is to return to school. He would be crazy to go now but next year a leap wouldn't be out of the question. Evaluating him, one more season in college for more seasoning is the correct path. He should be a senior next season ( he will be a red shirt junior) but missed his freshman year with an injury.

My take. He is too smart to jump. He will wait another year and do the right thing and stay. And if he stays he will instantly become one of the main faces of college basketball.

Funny JL went over the career of Jay Wright and noticed he mainly recruited black "athletes" for several years and had trouble winning in a consistent manner. According to an SI article he realized that he needed basketball players just as much as run/jump guys who didn't take to the team concept. He then started sprinkling in key smart white players and ever since he has been on a roll. Same thing JL was saying.

Following in the footsteps of Donte D another athletic super sophomore SG Kevin Huerter has declared for the NBA draft but like Donte he has not hired an agent.

I don't know if this is some kind of macho move by college basketball players or what but I just don't think it is necessary for so many of these players to declare when it is obvious they need more seasoning in college.

Both Donte and Huerter have the budding skills and athletic ability to become pros but neither one would be doing themselves a favor by jumping ship this year.

Like Donte I suspect Huerter will return for his junior season Both players are exciting and will be at the forefront of college basketball next season rather than rotting on some bench in the NBA. Depending on how they progress both players might be ready to jump AFTER this upcoming season but not before that.

Good news!! Joseph Chartouny headed to Marquette!! With Chartouny, Sam and (freshman stud) Joe Hauser, and Matt Heldt, the Golden Eagles should be a team to root for again next year.

In regards to Shadowlight's post, I really hope those two come back; it'd be downright foolish to leave.

Holy crap you would think the era of rationality has ended. The NCCA Commission, in an attempt to "straighten" out the mess that is College Basketball, came out with a series of recommendations that actually make the situation even worse than before. The want to get rid of the one and done rule which I agree with because a player out of HS should be allowed to enter the NBA Draft. But they do not couple that with the "baseball rule" that stipulates that a player must stay in school for three years before he enters the draft.

There are a few other things, some good some shaky, thrown in as well but this overall approach only wipes the asses of black basketball players even more than before. These new rules are an attempt to further the cause of the black athlete as it pampers them every step of the way. It will also result in even more ball hogging selfish basketball as the black kids try to impress the NBA starting shortly after exiting the womb. Even so there are still many out there complaining they didn't go far enough and that the ( READ BLACK) players should be paid which is ridiculous and nearly impossible to implement.

They suggest that the baseball rule is "forcing" a player against his will to stay in school as if a college education is like being in jail. Tell that to the white folk who fork over tons of money to send their kids to college.

The NBA as usual will have the final say but I thought the NCAA would at least go back to the baseball rule. Surprised they came up with something so BAD. Idiots.

A few transfer updates:

Pitt transfer Ryan Luther committed to Arizona! Good pick, as they lost most of their frontcourt, and Luther should get a chance to play alongside Alex Barcello (who's hopefully ready to play, as there will be minutes for him).

Samford transfer Wyatt Walker picks NC State over Wisconsin. I don't mind this one. NC State needs post bodies next year, and Walker will easily be the most experienced post on the team. He'll also team up with stud PG Braxton Beverly.

Matt Mooney is down to Northwestern, Creighton, and Texas Tech. I really hope he goes to Creighton. The only white-friendly tournament team on the list. I'm hoping he doesn't go to Tech, whatever he does.

Milwaukee guard Brock Stull is attracting a lot of high major attention as a grad transfer. Creighton, Butler, and NC State are among the schools that have reached out to him.

Now, if we get a lot of our guys to leave the draft (like DiVincenzo, Happ, etc.) then this next year should be a great year for our guys, definitely better than last year. DiVincenzo will be THE man on a Top 5 team next year, and that is infinitely more valuable against the caste system than revolving between an NBA bench and the G-League. Same with Happ; Wisconsin should be back in the Top 25 with Happ next year. I see Luke Maye declared for the draft too, but there is no way I see him staying pro, especially since he'll likely be the guy at UNC next year (Berry graduates, leaving Maye as the Heels' leading returning player). Heurter needs to come back to Maryland too.

I agree with Shadowlights' post. By far the best route for college basketball are the baseball rules in regards to the draft problem. It's a win-win for both sides. I should have a HS prospect update coming up soon!

UCLA has ended its coaching search by hiring Mick “Jungle Fever” Cronin. There are some white pills and black pills here.

First the bad news. Obviously UCLA will not recruit or play any White athletes while Cronin is coach. The days of Kevin Love, TJ Leaf, Bryce Alford and the Wear Twins are over for now. A storied franchise like UCLA deserves better than an anti-White clown like Cronin.

The good news however is that Cincinnati is free from Cronin’s 13 year reign of terror. Whomever the new coach is has the possibility of being more fair towards Whites. The other good news is that UCLA is much more fickle with their coaches and Cronin’s level of failure will not be tolerated like it was at Cincinnati. Steve Alford was fired after 5 mostly successful years in which UCLA made the sweet 16 three times. It is very possible Cronin could be fired in short order, in which case his next gig may be at a much worse program.

From my perspective a terrible hire. His Bearcat teams play gritty defense but their offensive sets or lack there of is ugly street ball and he is bringing this junk to UCLA? Home of John Wooden and the smooth as butter easy on the eyes style of play?

Given his caste drenched history I would be surprised if his recruitment pattern ever changes.

If I was a UCLA fan I would be depressed.

As far as Cincy goes they have historically been caste so I tend to think that won't change with a new coach.
