Funk has been a real feel good player for us this season! I remember we had high hopes for him coming out of HS!

Lovie Smith and Kevin Sumlin both out as Head Coaches! Maybe they can join Deion at the HBCUs.

Some potential bad news for Lincoln Pare and Ryan Graham.. Arkansas State lost their HC to Utah State and have replaced him with Butch Jones..

Auburn also fired Gus Malzahn. I guess they will go AA coach next.

Retread caste goober Butch Jones LOL. I agree that Pare and Graham are pretty much screwed now unfortunately. Bo Nix will have to watch his back at Auburn once they hire a new coach too.

Lovie being gone is great news. There is no reason Illinois couldn't be more like Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Nebraska, the old Indiana or Purdue.

Lubby really blackened up the recruits and in another 2 years they would have resembled any SEC team minus the talent.

Definitely a tough break for Pare and Graham perhaps they follow their coach out West? We'll see unfortunate because they both seemed to be finding their groove under current regime.

@DWF Upside completely agreed.

Milton to FSU is a bummer.

Keep an eye on Brewer for sure.

Champagne IL sucks, years ago our kid did the obligatory tour of it and the campus for the official tour and the town is tat parlors and the campus tour guide was a passive aggressive black chick talking about "diversity" which meant fewer whites all the while she took the group thru a dark, dreary scary looking campus. They will never win, the kids who go there at least the white ones are all the nerds seeking to get into the reputable programs for actual studies.

FTR I don't get that Lovie was the worst coach in CFB or for that program, the amount of whites he played was about average and from what I gather he was going to attract very few of the "stars" black players when they can go to the schools more orientated to football not white and asian nerds. At least NU has Chicago to fall back upon not corn fields and strip mall tat parlors.

One more edit, I wrote on the weekly thread a bunch of players did not travel to play but no Sniffle Pox excuse was given so maybe Lovie had a mini player revolt or something.

Glad to hear he will be back! Any word on Eli Howard?
No official word on Eli Howard yet, but he accepted an invite to the 2021 College Gridiron Showcase & Symposium which signals towards him heading to the NFL draft. In his career he has 98 tackles, 20 TFL, and 14.5 sacks. That’s solid production but I don’t know if it is enough for a team to take notice. I’d like to have him back at TTU next year but 7 years in college is a lot and if he wants to play in the NFL the clock is ticking.

Well said Wile. My one minor disagreement is the number of white players that Lovie played and recruited. He was put in an unusual spot in terms of the first year and really partially second year of recruiting.

So on the surface you see (Epstein and Hansen) and think this guy is fair. Hansen was barely a scholarship player and Epstein ( who couldnt have a worst name) is in his 30th year in the program.

He finally got his dream QB ( with 3 of them being in the current program being major busts) in the class of 2021. They also have a bunch of halfrican Americans that might fake some out on tv. A small bit of credit on 2 transfers in 4 star TE who wanted to come home but has been benched. And Peters who was a mercenary that is also currently benched. If he went 2 more years, he probably starts an all black team.

Two QBs enter the transfer portal. O'Hara is a dynamic dual threat QB who has been hampered by the supporting cast at MTSU. Gunnell certainly looked the part last year when he played, this year the Wildcats were a complete disaster. They are both players to keep an eye out for.

Middle Tennessee redshirt junior QB Asher O'Hara has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

O'Hara started for two years at MTSU, so seeing him bolt now is a bit of a surprise. At 6-foot and 185 pounds, O'Hara is a bit small for the position, but that has yet to stop him. In his two seasons, O'Hara threw for over 4,500 yards while tossing 32 touchdowns to 16 interceptions. He is a quality passer as much as he is a valuable rusher, too. O'Hara ran for about 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns over the past two seasons. It's unclear if O'Hara will need to sit due to transfer rules.

Arizona sophomore QB Grant Gunnell entered the transfer portal.
Let the post-Sumlin exodus begin in Arizona, as Gunnell (6'6/225) was a highly touted four-star recruit from the 2019 class who started right out of the gate. His loss leaves the Wildcats in dire straights at the quarterback position, as the sophomore signal caller completed 66 percent of his passes with a 15-to-3 ratio in his two abbreviated seasons at the helm of the U of A offense. Will Plummer takes over as the de-facto starter, though he will assuredly be challenged in spring camp considering he threw three interceptions to zero touchdowns in 80 pass attempts this season.

@Leonardfan I actually like both of these guys transferring to hopefully greener pastures! O'Hara should be able to play right away, pretty sure NCAA cleared all transfers as immediately eligible. He'd do well to add some weight and bulk to him without losing that speed.

Gunnell is the total opposite. Mammoth of a QB with a strong arm.

Temple's Anthony Russo also transferred to Michigan State.

Russo to Sparty is somewhat interesting however he never became anything but a good/QB at Temple so I don't know if that will change.

Gunnell should be a target for a ton of power 5 teams, same with O'Hara. I'd love to see them both end up in favorable situations.

I also saw that Chase Brice is transferring from Duke - he was a disappointment this year. I thought he would play better than he did.

It seem Michigan State has been stockpiling average White QBs. Was hoping someone would step up, perhaps it'll be a new face in Russo.

Really interested to see where those 2 end up. As you mentioned they should have their choice of suitors.

Switching gears Colin Wilder will be back at Safety for The Badgers. In a normal season I think he would have seen his stock rise a lot, this shortened year didn't do him any favors. Even though he played well and get this; is known for his heady play in the secondary. Crucial part in getting his team lined up, heard that before with White Safeties(Weddle, Smith) .

LT Cole Van Lanen declared, so did FB Mason Stokke and

Kirk Cousins is the best Sparty QB of all time. Connor Cook will always baffle me how he flamed in the NFL after being so good in college. Lewerke looked amazing early on but never got better - if my memory serves me correct he had an injury and was not the same after. Danotnio never seemed to waiver on keeping a white QB at the helm during his tenure and his record of 114-57 speaks for itself. It's too bad he "retired". I also remember Drew Stanton who was a dynamic dual threat guy but never panned out in the NFL as anything more than a journeyman.

Nice to hear Wilder returning and I am assuming Scott Nelson will stick around too. I wonder how long Leonhard will stick around as DC for Wisco. He's probably one of the best d-coordinators in the country along with Venables and although I have learned not to put any blind faith or stake in a coach for eschewing the caste system I would offer Leonhard the benefit of the doubt since he is essentially the poster boy for a white athlete overcoming the caste system,

Michigan State QB Rocky Lombardi is officially in the transfer portal. He was impressive in victories against Michigan and Northwestern, but didn't put it together otherwise. The aforementioned Anthony Russo will likely take over next year after transferring from Temple. Black Spartan coach Mel Tucker will also have redshirt sophomore Payton Thorne and new recruit Hampton Fay in the QB room.

Illinois goes with Bret Bielema as their next HC. Interesting decision to replace Lovie with.
