That’s exactly right. They knew all this and signed him anyway.

This deal is so exceptionally bad factoring in Watson has nearly zero marketability due to his proclivities. Then there’s the divisiveness of the contract with teammates. “They paid this scumbag, what? And he’s not even good”.

Honestly, the Browns needed Watson to play like Tom Brady 2.0 otherwise this was always a doomed deal. Now you can’t make a dime off this guy nor have a winning team. Plenty of schadenfreude to enjoy here.

After week 1 and with the “Watson is the worst contract in pro sports history” stuff trending, Berry on some level must understand he’s on borrowed time. I think he’s just trying to get his brothas as much of the White man’s money as possible before he’s sh1t canned. Reparations in real time.

they can collect data until they are blue in the face, but until they are collecting the accurate IQs of each and every player then all the data is for nothing.
 
I'm locking this temporarily as there is a 2024 Browns thread, which is what we should be posting on now. Same for the other 31 teams. The general threads are for use in the offseason or until a write-up is done for the new season.

With Flacco in the fold, they now have the vet who can start or the young QB to try to rehab into starting material with Pickett. I would bet they pass on QB now, since they are still stuck with Watson's awful contract. The black supremacist GM has done an about-face at QB, most likely to save his job. The rumors out of NY are also that they will take a non-QB at 3. Assuming that Ward goes number 1 to Tennessee, we could see the obnoxious and overrated Sanders fall in the draft. Would be beautiful to see him slide, with all the media apologists crying on air.
 
I wonder if there's been any negative feedback at all from Browns fans on the obvious overwhelmingly black construction of the team, which the past two years has been noticeable even for the NFL. Probably very few DWFs would be "courageous" enough to contact the organization directly, but there's various ways of monitoring public opinion, including knowing when a lot of grumbling is going on.
