Vic Wharton's father is black. He is also the school track coach. Also if you go on Wharton's facebook, you'll see he tagged his family and all the Whartons are black.

I have seen a White Justin Timberlake clone Wharton. He looks 100 percent White unless I am missing something. I have also seen a guy who definitely is Mulatto too, but not that same guy under the same name. Maybe there are two Vic Whartons? PS Vic Wharton is the nephew of a semi famous Black player from the late 90's. While his uncle isn't close to a full blooded African it's still pretty unusual to have a guy look this White with fairly significant African ancestry.

For me it comes down to if Vic considers himself white, and what race the media would make him out to be. I'm presuming that his black "heritage" will be stressed.

Is it possible he is adopted? Could his mother have re-married a black man? He looks White to me....

main.jpg

Edit to add: He's probably 1/8 black or something like Kris Humphries. His nose looks very *******.

2 more running backs of note that have come out of nowhere. Daythan Davis out of Texas has signed with Southern Miss. . Hes a big back at 6'2" and 230 pounds but he reminds me of a younger Toby Gerhart. Rivals has him as a fullback but ESPN reports they want him as a tailback. Time will tell. The other rb is out of Arizona named Luke Quinn. He is on the small side but is very quick and shifty. He has an offer from Wyoming but apparently he has no interest there. He will probably do the stupid thing and opt out to a small D II school like Brock Broughton.

FSU commit Worton may flip to Florida. They've been recruiting him heavily. Conner Krizancic has offers from Minnesota, Cincinnati and a handful of MAC programs. Caleb Scott of Georgia has Missouri and Nebraska offers but will choose between Vanderbilt and TCU. Mike Dudek has a 4.4 40 and is headed to Illinois. A lot of guys in this class who are ranked low but have managed at least one or two big program offers. Seems like more than usual.

Another guy to keep an eye on is Zack Bornstein. Bornstein is a national level decathlete and plans to compete in it in college as well. However he also says he may bulk up to tight end. Decathletes are usually tall and muscular like nfl receivers but Bornstein will have trouble if he wants to compete at 240+ pounds.

Two new WR commits over the last two days. 6'3" Luke Lewallen to Georgia State. Sam Martin who is also 6'3" and very explosive was mentioned in this thread back in the summertime. He had no offers but Rutgers finally gave him one and he will be headed there.

I noticed on the last page TwentyTwo mentioned Mark Andrews, the highly-rated white WR going to Oklahoma, and mentioned he may get moved to TE. I don't think he will to start off. I read a rivals article that talked about him being very solid to Oklahoma, with one of the main reasons being they promised to keep him as a WR. So hopefully he'll light it up for the Sooners!

Just to note Jack... I posted it months ago but Andrews would not attend Oklahoma unless they KEPT him at wr.
Also CJ Worton has decommitted from Florida State and is choosing between Florida or West Virginia.
Sam Martin is going to Miami of Ohio not Rutgers from my info.
Also slightly good news, Tyler Henderson is attending Wake Forest as a Running Back. Unfortunately so did Michael Companaro and he obviously was moved to the " Welker " though he had success at the tailback position.
By my count I have about 50 wr signings with more to come though 2 are to Army and 2 to Air Force.

More good news from the rb front. I had never heard of this kid until today but Preston Curtis out of Salt Lake City is attending Utah State. He is 5'11" and about 190. From his youtube highlights this kid is realy I mean REALLY fast and seems to gain speed when he cuts as opposed to losing it. I believe thats about 9 rbs signed up for this year so far. Lets see if Zac Pollard gets some love. Who runs for over 3,000 yards and is the state player of the year in North Carolina and still does not get 1 d I offer?

TT, after tearing his ACL in the first game of his senior year, 2 carries 77 yards and a 55 yd.TD, Zac Pollard was offered a preferred walk-on at ECU, however, he will sign with D-1 FCS Presbyterian College. Others that were interested, App St., Dartmouth, Columbia.

Correct, 3082 yards/278 carries/ 11.08 yds./carry/ 37 TD's. 4.5, 40/ 4.0 shuttle/ 225BP 15 reps.
at 5'11/ 205 lbs. JR. year! 4.1 GPA!

Don't know if Pollard will crack the starting line-up his freshman year, but Presbyterian plays Ole Miss., NC. State, and N. Illinois in 2014. He may be someone to watch in the future against these D-1 teams!

More WR signings of players who weren't committed on signing day. Taking me a while to dig them up, there's likely more. For now:

Grant Lewis - Wyoming
Brennan Bradley - ULM
Zach Reuter - Kansas State
Tyler Ahrens - Kansas State
Andrew Meyer - Ohio
Mack Richards - Hawaii

RJ Urzendowski should be at a BIG school but will wind up at NDSU.

no White receivers to Washington State?

Nope. In fact I count only two WR commits in the whole PAC-12. Want to hear something shocking? The SEC has twice that at four. It's potentially six if you count vic wharton of tenn. and if fitzgerald at miss state moves from qb to wr.

A cursory scan of recuiting class pictures at ESPN tells me that this is the blackest "signing day" in history.
Caste teams that usually sign 5 or 6 white players are down to 2 or 3.
I propose we officially rename this to Black Privilege Day.

It's not awful. Perhaps I'm being too pessimistic, but we saw a lot of WRs end up in schools that haven't had skill position players in over a decade (this could end up good or bad) and some of the smaller schools had whiter classes. Unfortunately a lot black quarterbacks again but I'm confident many will move positions or end up busting all together.

Also some others I missed out on and haven't seen in this thread.

Caine Watlington (CB) to Air Force.
Bryson Durden (CB) (preferred walk on) to Tennessee.
Will Cape (CB) unfortunately to Kennesaw State.

WRs Aaron Kumbier and Will Daniels to NIU.
WRs Lance Wright and Trevor Long to Rice.
David Ungerer to Idaho.

Thanks for the additional names!

The plight of the white Defensive Tackle since the mid 90's has been perplexing...Even though Justin Smith & Kyle Williams are currently some of the best in the business...they can't play forever; it sure took them too long to get the credit they deserved....

Some DT's to watch....
Jeff Worthy (JUCO) committed to Arizona
Sam Schwab (JUCO)...Boise; Illinios
David Shaw(PA) committed to Maryland
Greg Gaines (CA)...to Washington
Mike Herndon(VA) to Pitt...6'-4" 323!
Connor Dintino (CT) to Pitt
David Beedle (MI) to Michigan State
Zac Dawe (UT) to BYU

As Don has said...the talent pool at D-Tackle seems to be dwindling with the 2014 Class....

#2 Rated OLB Dillon Bates (FL) committed to Tennessee; son of ex Cowboys Bill Bates; will be one to watch!

DB Colton Gerhart (Toby's younger brother) committed to Arizona State...at 6'-1" 216 he packs a punch!
DB-Dylan Harding (OK)...to Oklahoma State...6'-2" 190...4.35
Under-rated DB Travis Young may walk-on to Kansas State like Jordy Nelson did

Athlete Luke Gifford(NE) committed to Nebraska

Ryan Moore RB., Youngstown State.....

and also to Youngstown is a 6'4 230 lb. TE, named Shane Kuhn from the Pennsylvania area. Does anyone know if he's any relation to Green Bay Packer FB John Kuhn?

By the way, thanks to Vanilla Sky, TwentyTwo, Riddlewire, dwid, J. Lambert, twinkle toes and any others for finding and reporting these white high school football players. It's appreciated!

Austin Proehl committed to North Carolina, not Wake Forest. Im wondering how bad of a thing that is. Ricky played at Wake and might have had more influence on Austin getting playing time, kind of like Dicky Lyons Jr played at Kentucky, at the time when he was literally the only White wideout getting playing time in the SEC, at least starting for sure.
