Update.

About Monaco.

Christophe will run, it's official, and Bolt too.

It's for the 100m, and the date is July 22.

So before Daegu, we have :

30 June : Lausanne (100m) vs Powell
8 July:paris (200m) vs Bolt and perhaps Blake
22 July : Monaco (100m) vs Bolt
28-30 July:CHAMPIONSHIP FRENCH 100m AND 200m

27 Aug :
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DAEGU 100 AND 200 vs THE BEST RUNNERS
16 Sep :BRUXELLES 200 vs Bolt (maybe)

Damn... I can't wait about Lausanne :)</span>

Hey, I've a question for you about the 200m.

Gay is out, it's ok. Spearmon too.

So, who are the bests in 200m this year ? If Christophe run around 19,8x, who can beat him (except Bolt of course) ?

What is the best time of Dix, Patton and Dodson ? (the three US sprinters)

Walter Dix has the fastest personal best by far. He ran a wind legal 19.69 in 2007! This guy is probably the favorite for thesilver after Boltif he is in top shape. Patton and Dodson are probably going to be around 20.00 flat or the very high 19.90's range.

Hi Twinsen9, the question is for me?hehe because im not sure if is for me..

Well i reply you, Bolt in his first race 19.86 with bad conditions raining, after i think only Ashmeade with 19.96 has sub20.
If Lemaitre get 19.8x get medal SURE.
Who can make good times in Daegu?Well Dix has around 20.05-20.06 i think remember, Patton is not rival and Dodson neither.

And i doubt so much that Dix can make 19.8x in Daegu, perhaps sub20 yes.

Regards

I pick Bolt for the Gold but I wouldn't be suprised if Dix pushed him. He knows how to take his flinstone vitamins at the right time if you know what I mean. He will be alot faster come August. <div></div><div></div>Christophe will probably be mostly fighting agains the Jamaicans and Dix. He has a chance to grab a medal. I would love to see him make the podium.

sorry white lightning, you told silver ok, silver is possible, i understant that you told gold and in my opinion gold is IMPOSSIBLE, only if bolt is injuriedhehe.

Dix incredible can make 19.80, Bolt make 19.80 jogging hehe, is not joke, he has big advantage
Bolt can lose in 100, bad start, bad conditions,.. in 200 i think that IMPOSSIBLE if he is not injuried
If Lemaitre get sub20 almost sure is medal...

Hey Zellgadiss and Twinsen9. I know you guys are huge Lemaitre fans like I am but you guys should really post in some other track columns once in a while. You guys have great track knowledge. We talk about many sprinters here and even though they are not anywhere close to the talent of Lemaitre, it's still fun to root for them. Alot of the young guys could end up becoming future stars too. It's up to you guys but I love reading your posts and it would be cool to see your guys thoughts on some of the other white sprinters from around the globe. <div></div><div>I can't wait to see Lemaitre and Bolt this Thursday. There are going to be some fireworks on the track!</div>

Thanks by the words white lightning.
Really i dont know a lot of white runners in the elite.
Perhaps the most famous is Wariner that in 2007 was near world record Michael Johnson with 43.45 and was olympic champion and world champion.
Lemaitre is a prodigy, probably the most talent white runner in the history. Better that Mennea and in the next years he will show very good times, records and international medals.

By last one white lightning, Thursday is not Bolt, is 8 July against Bolt, now this week is against Powell, Carter,Frater and Martina. I dont see imposible that he win but she should make 9.90-9.95.

Regards

</div><div>And read this !http://www.universalsports.com/news-blogs/blogs/blog=blockheadblog/postid=539249.html

I read a lot of paper about Christophe and a possible victory in Diamond League o_O !!!

IAAF write : "100 m: expected duel between Powell and Lemaitre, the French, who is gaining in strength, will he manage to win for the first time in the Diamond League?"</div>

Call me crazy but I will predict a 9.89 this week for his first dip into the 9.80's! He has been starting very good and his reaction time has been brilliant. I just hope racing Powell doesn't make him too nervous. It shouldn't as he has raced him a few times now. Come on Christophe. This is your time to shine. Go get your first big scalp of the season! Show the world what you are made of!

Twinsen9 i think that your times are correct
smiley2.gif

I hope that Lemaitre continue with good reaction times 0.135-145.
Probably Powell take good advantage in first 50-60m, so Lemaitre has try to be very near because in the last 40m Powell down a lot of his level...

Well, it's so impressive the numbers of race CL runs with the best of the bests.

July 2010 (Paris) : Bolt (bad time)
August 2010 (Riety) : Carter (9,98 and 9,97)
May 2011 (Roma) : Bolt &amp; Powell (10,00)
June 2011 (Montreuil) : Blake (9,96)
June 2011 (Lausanne) : Powell &amp; Carter
July 2011 (Paris) : Bolt &amp; Blake
July 2011 (Monaco) : Bolt, Blake &amp; Rodgers
August/September 2011 (Daegu) : Bolt, Mullings, Powell, etc.
September 2011 (Bruxelles) : Bolt (maybe) and at least one of the top 10 best

Damn, if Christophe don't run near 9,90 (or less) and 19,80, I think it was only because he'll be injuried.

Christophe will run his first sub 9.90 in Lausanne. And it's terrible. At the time of the race, I have rehearsal and I can not see him. What should I do? Go to the rehearse and loseCL's first sub 9.90or see the race but lost the role? Life is a fu... sh...

umm the argie is very hard really that Lemaitre get sub 9.90 on thursday. Only with perfect race and about wind 2m/s. You saw that Lemaitre usually down few to few his mark, suddenly 9.95 to sub 9.90 ummm i dont know, really i dont think it...

By other hand, if you can, you should try see the race, hehe it is only less 10 seconds

This may not be very sceintific but if polish sprinter Marcin Urbas can run a sub 20 with only 10.4 100 meter speed I dint see why the more athletic and longer limbed Lemaitre couldint run a sub 19.7 in the next year or two.

umm mattharper usually the runner of 200 is not super fast 100.

A usual runner 100 when make 200 his time is +2 times that his mark, because he does not have speed endurance.
A runner 200 usually has his time in 200 about 2 times mark 100 or less, because he train speed endurance and he does not need to be super fast in 100(usually).
A example Spearmon by example only 9.96 but wonderful 19.65.
Or Michael Johnson 10.09 and 19.32
Runners very fast like Greene o Powell only ran 200 few less that 20 seconds, they are for very short distance(greene in adittion world record 60m indoor yet)

Bolt usually finish very strong in the 100 because he ran all his life 200m, it is the reason that he has very big speed endurance.

Lemaitre is not very fast first metres(although in the future i must that he will improve, although he never will be super fast at beginning), and he train 200 too. We saw that he finish very strong at the end in 100m, he is training very well his speed endurance.
So yes i think that in the future he can break the record of Mennea(19.72), although in my opinion that time has help of very big altitude in Mexico.

Regards

But Lausanne is in altitude too (ok... not a lot).

And Powell run here 9.72 I think.

So with altitude, CL can take a 9.92 (maybe 9.91) with a "normal" wind.
