it's time for WL to change the tittle of this thread !

-- 2010 --

May 1st : 10,09
May 24 : 10,03
June 19 : 10,02
July 9 : 9,98
August 29 : 9,97 (and 9,98 in semi)

-- 2011 --

April 23 : 10,19 (+0,1 than May 1st, 2010)
May 26 : 10,00 (-0,03 than May 24, 2010)
June 7 : 9,96 (-0,06 than June 19, 2010 !!!)

And after ? How much in Daegu ?

I'm really happy, Christophe proves he can run under 10 "easily".

Christophe is regular... And that's great !</span>

Yes Twinsen9 this year Lemaitre is showing that he can run "easily" in 9.9-10.0
It is really great

I'm so happy about his reaction time...

I thought Christophe was lucky against Bolt and Powell... But I was wrong !

I'm really impressed by his progress...

Adjusting Blake's 9.80 at +2.2m/s wind in the recent race in Kingston, to today's +0.9 wind,Blake would have run 9.88 in Kingston (today: 9.95). So compared to Blake CL may have run 9.89 in Kingston with a +0.9 wind, or a 9.81 with a +2.2 wind. He is certainly on track for a good season. I think I did the math correctly!

I was spot on in my prediction! Way to go Christophe! What a race. Again this is another boost for his confidence. He is now running with the big boys and just about took his first huge scalp. Congrats to Yohan but I must say that Christophe is coming for you, Powell and Bolt. It is only a matter of time. It may not happen this year but barring a serious injury, this kid is headed straight for the top. When I say that I mean the top of the podium. Gold medals are possible in the next few years along with a chance for him to be crowned the fastest man in the world!!

Yes you heard me right. He is improving at a very nice pace. His strength levels still are only that of a weak teenager. He has gotten stronger but he is no where near the strength levels of the elite sprinters of the world. Christophe will get there but there is no rush. We don't want him to get hurt. Let him grow into his body slowly and most important "Naturally"!!!!

Congrats again to PepeLeFlew. The Master, FrenchthatCanFly, BlondeBullet, and the ultimate name. He is officially crowned "White Lightning"! Keep on believing brother. You can beat anybody on the planet someday. You have to believe before you acheive! One Hell of a Race! I'm so pumped!!!

freddie you are very optimistic thinking only with difference wind 1.3 is 0.09.(2.2 vs 0.9)
More realistic would be about 0.06-0.07 ,it would be about 9.86-87 the time of Blake in Kingston with 0.9 wind.
When exists big difference in altitude is advantage too, but i would tell that in both places are few more that sea level.

Regards

I think Blake is in 9.8 shape right now, so the fact that he was able to get so close proves that CL is in super shape.

Btw I'm hearing that this race was run in sub-optimal conditions.

Bravo! He is progressing the way one should. For him
To get to the low 9.9's he needs to run
Alot of races. His new muscle/strength needs to sync with his natural speed. Once that happens I seriously see a dominating performance, top 3. he is consistent and I see a very fast 200 real soon

Well,9,96 now, 10,02 in June 19, 2010.

So maybe at Daegu, Christophe will run 9,91 (or maybe less) ?

9,91 is not an "amazing" time now for Christophe.

And 9,91 is my prediction :D</span>

No ! Four !

In 2010, he ran three times sub 10 :

- 9,98 : first french record - 2010
- 9,98 : semi-final (Rieti) - 2010
- 9,97 : final (Rieti) - 2010
- 9,96 : Montreuil 93 - 2011
- 9,48 : Brazil - 2016 :D @white lightning

No it was his 4th. He has narrowly missed several more. There is no doubt that this kid belongs in the big boy club. The question is where will he end up at the world champs? We have never had so many fast sprinters at one time as we do now. The competition is unbelieveable. Gay meets Mullings in a few days. That should be great too.

I still see a 9.85 by the world champs. He is not in top shape yet. Christophe is probably around 85-90% fit at the moment and he will peak in August. His coach and trainers know what they are doing. Way to go Christophe. Edited by: white lightning

Thanks Twinsen. That's four more sub 10 second times than any white sprinter has ever run. I'm predicting 9.90 this season for him.

16ºC.

Blake said it was cold and the officials were wearing jackets, Edited by: the argie

So don't forget that Christophe confirm that he's the best in Europe.

The best time of Francis Obikwelu is only 10,30 for the time being.

And Chambers don't run sub 10...<div>
</div><div>I hope Christophe can break european records (9,86 and 19,72).</div><div>
</div><div>Maybe in 2012 !</div>

Twinsen9 i see very possible european record 100 the next year, but in 200 buff 19.72 is very hard.
His curve in 200 is very bad by now, he should improve so much.

Yep thats what I was hearing too, he probably would have gone 9.9low in better conditions.

9.96 in 16 celsius is probably about a low 9.9X to high 9.8X if it's Bastille day type temperatures. He is flying.....

Where is the damn video. I'm so impatient. Haha. Seriously I'm so anxious to watch this race!

I still say 9.85 to stay alive in Daegu! The don't call him "The Master" for nothing.

god damn I love this kid! I'm starting to rethink my prediction. I thinking 9.89 in the final of the WC. they just need to work on his lean at the line. he does more of a head dip then a lean. with a proper lean he could have nipped Blake at the line.

Here is a pic from todays race. Lemaitre still needs to do some serious lifting. His legs aren't too bad but his upper body needs alot of filling out. That is what makes his potential so exciting. To say that about a 20 year old who has already ran 9.96 is amazing. The Future has arrived!
