I started taking Total Beets by Force Factor and it has helped me reduce my BP tremendously. I know supplements have different results for each person, but they really help me after I had my stroke in June. If at all possible stay off BP medicine. I have been on them for over 30 years and they will affect your way of living. On the plus side, they have kept me alive. I am just saying if there is anything you can do to stay off them do it.

I have seen some cleansing videos and one on a doc where an obese male who had obvious health issues went on a juicing diet for a month and shed 100+ pounds and his vitals returned to normal range.

One difference is I am 20 years older than the subject in the video and never wasn't nearly that overweight. I was more like an out of shape boxer.

I'm starting to wonder if the doctors aren't using patients as a billing ticket as I suggested I could wean myself off of the medication and she had this freaked out look and didn't want this trial to be explored.

I do live in Canada which has socialist health care and keeping patients coming every few months is an extra billing fee.

"I can still somewhat do push-ups, dips and pull-ups, so it appears my upper left arm and shoulder lost less strength than the lower half, which still has a long way to go.

---That sounds excellent!

I remember Patty from NJ very well. We had really good groups of Populists in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and NYC.

--- New Jersey had - and still does have - an amazing number of good people for such a politically degenerate state.

I was out that way a lot for meetings and other activities for a number of years. Made a lot of friends, some of whom I'm still in touch with. One lives in Bucks County on about 15 acres of land very close to the Jersey border.

--- Vic. We r still in touch too.

He would have regular informal get-togethers that would draw anywhere from 20 to 40 people from PA, NJ, NY and VA, including at different times a PA state senator, a historical revisionist of note, and even Jared Taylor back in his early days after he started American Renaissance.

--- I'm bad at names - like remembering who was where and when - but i remember David Irving was in NJ giving a talk to a pretty big crowd. That was what, 35 years ago? I recall him saying that in 3 years time nobody would believe in the "holocaust" anymore. Cynic that I am, I said. "yeah right". The worst thing about my cynicism is that I'm also usually right.

I was probably in eastern PA, NJ and NY State over 50 times between 1988 and the mid-1990s as we always had balloted Populist Party candidates and various functions ongoing. We had a Populist Party candidate on the ballot for every New Jersey congressional district one year, a helluva feat for an under-financed right wing third party. Many good times were had in that state. Still have some cousins in NJ and even lived there for a year when I was a tyke.

--- U must hv gone to the German-American Club - or whatever its official name is - in southern NJ. I was last there the night before Hurricane Sandy struck. Odd apocalyptic atmosphere. Not everyone showed up - busy boarding up their windows etc. I wound up right in the middle of it.

--- I lived in NY but often went over the GW Bridge to NJ. It's actually a gorgeous state away from the urban areas. I could write more by PM if u ever feel like it. Keep getting better!

If possible try using a sled. No eccentric contraction so it should be easier on the muscles and joints. Also proprioceptive training has been shown to help patients recovering from a stroke. And creatine, besides building muscle, helps improve myelination in the brain. Keep up the good fight!

Don - Hope u r continuing to get better. i spoke w Patty from NJ today and as usual i got everything i said above half wrong. She knew right away who u were referring to. In my defense, I've been gone from the area for a long time.

Patty was/is good friends with another PA landowning guy, Bob B., who worked in NYC and retired in his late 50s and bought some land in northeast PA. He was a prominent leader of the Populist Party but later left politics and got into Odinism and started a group that was going pretty good for a while. Some of their rituals were on YouTube at one time but I have no idea if it's still going or not these days.

Haven't seen Vic in many years, another good guy from the now long ago days of the Populist Party.

Hi - How r u feeling?

Yes, I know Bob B. Good guy. I met him on my last trip back east in 2012. He is now doing his Odinism group online. And yes Vic is a good guy too and I'm regularly in touch with him. He was at the German-American club in south Jersey the strange night before Hurricane Sandy hit. People were supposed to be in costume for some reason (dreadful shades of Dresden 1945. THEY picked a day when the little children were in costume celebrating a Christian holiday). I have a photo of me there, not in costume, rule breaker that I am.
Speaking of Odinism, I'd like to get in touch with the author Ron McVan. I don't suppose u know his email or phone number...

I don't know anything about McVan, and very little about Odinism for that matter.

So I went to a neurologist this afternoon. Overall I'm doing well but it takes about three months to judge whether the brain has healed, and I guess it may take that long for my weakened left arm to regain its former strength and lose the pain I often feel. Or it may not get all the way back but I'm determined to get back to one hundred percent.

Since the stroke it's been endless rounds of having vital signs taken, blood drawn for this and that, a CT scan, a heart echocardiogram, an MRI of my brain, and in the next few days an ultrasound of my neck veins. And of course more doctor appointments. But I feel lucky that it wasn't worse. My cholesterol is high and I need to get that down quite a bit over the next period of time, as well as make sure I don't have high blood pressure (don't think I ever have but it was high the night of the stroke but that could well have been because of the stroke and the scariness of the situation). I've been an exercise fanatic most of my life and being in good shape likely is helping with the aftermath.

Now that I'm seeing a few different doctors for different reasons as I get older, it's amusing to see how poor the record keeping is, from one doctor's office to the next, and also including the hospital I was in after the stroke. They all have different things recorded for my prescriptions, past ailments, even my listed PCP differs from one to the other. Applying that to our current clown world, it reinforces my view that there's so much inefficiency and incompetence in this dumbed down society and its obsession with "equity" and anti-White discrimination, that while there is an attempt to centralize everything including corporate and government power, it's hard to see the regime ever putting together a total high-tech surveillance state that comes anywhere close to working as efficiently as it's supposed to. Idiocracy seems a much more realistic and likely end result and we're just about there already.

Thanks for the update Don. I've seen documentaries done from doctors from many decades ago. They said that too low cholesteral can
also cause a stroke or heart attack. They said you need a good amount of fats and cholesteral in moderation to be healthy and for the body
to run at it's peak efficiency. Another thing the doctors said is that the stats for normal high blood pressure were changed many, many decades ago. 140 over 100 was normal years ago. Just things I heard from these doctors mouths.

Inflamation is the biggest thing that causes all serious health problems in the body. You can fight that naturally by taking tumereic in a vitamin form every day. It's a natural anti inflamatory. It's works like ibuprofen but it's all natural from a plant with no side affects or dangers.
I've taken it for at least 20 years now. Hope this helps.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Odinism is the belief in many Gods and that man is inherently good. Like Hinduism, it is a polytheistic religion. By contrast, Christianity is the belief in one God and that man is not good. Man is a sinner and has broken Gods moral law.

"it's amusing to see how poor the record keeping is..."

Every time I've looked at a medical report on me they have at least 50% of it wrong. If my left leg is hurt they'll write it's my right leg and so on. They barely pay attention to either me or what they're writing down.

Doctors used to be the most respected, even beloved, members of the community. Now they rank right down there with politicians - even lower, much lower, in the case of the stinking homosexual doctors that sexually mutilate young people...and then they're hustling their doctor faucci death shots for which they get financial remuneration, as do hospitals for each victim they whack and then mark down "covid # 19".

Yes I remember these readings as had a bp machine at my gym that I used every once in a while and had pb of 130 something over 90 to 140 over 90 depending on my sleep. So I never worried too much about it but then after I got my 150+ over 90+ reading I read further into bp and now 130 and 140 readings are considered early stages of hypertension.

Also my 150 over 90+ reading happened over night and I have for years had higher blood pressure in the fall and winter and it would lower in the spring, especially during unseasonably warm days to weeks.

Anyway all tips from Don and others are appreciated...

PS my memory from "normal" readings for bp were from junior high or high school physiology so maybe the numbers have been changed in 30+ years.

Went to a urologist's office today for the first time in several years and they had my pharmacy listed as being in some small town in Kentucky.. And of course I had to wear a mask. Clown world.

Keeping the prayers up for continued recovery, Don.
Thanks. I'm still making progress though it isn't dramatic from day to day, more incremental, which is the nature of recovery from this type of event. But one thing that's improved noticeably this week is the pain I was experiencing in my left arm. I like to think I have a pretty high pain threshold but for substantial periods of time after the stroke the pain was simply excruciating mixed with periods of let-up and that's not an exaggeration. Now it's more of a dull pain when I feel it.

But my arm is still numb and tight, and the arm from the elbow to the wrist is still weak. For example, I used to do arm curls with 55 pounds of free weights for both arms but now it's just 25 pounds for my left arm and even that isn't easy. So I'm hoping that over time that strength comes back. My upper left arm is stronger than the lower part, about 75 percent of what it was before the stroke.

One thing those of you who like me aren't spring chickens anymore should do is have your blood pressure and cholesterol checked at least occasionally. Strokes can be caused by a number of different things but those two are often factors. Add in the tremendous stress that just about everyone is under in this crazy society, and it's easy to see why strokes happen. I feel fortunate mine wasn't a major one because major ones destroy lives and can also be fatal.

Maybe u might want to switch to isometrics for now. That's currently my favorite, isometrics and variations thereof - and now I'm trying very light weights - dumbells - under tension, which is what many of the old time strongmen used to advocate.

5x10 @ 50% 1 rep max is a good way to do it

Glad you are doing better Don. One day at a time. That's some impressive weights for curls! Resistance bands have been really good for me.; i see why Tom Brady played til 45. My cousin was only 51 when he lost his life to a stroke in 2017.

Don, how did the ultrasound on your neck go? Any results? Don't divulge anything too private. Was just curious.

I have one scheduled for next week, not sure if that's the one you're referring to. At this point I don't even try to keep up with or remember all the endless tests and doctor appointments. My main interest now is to see how badly and in what amusing ways each office has butchered the basic info about me and my medical history. :D

Hang in there my friend. Yes the medical establishment is similar to the Dentistry Field in the way they operate. I often wonder when
they lose my records as well. Who put these people in charge of record keeping? Hope you continue to heal and try to stay positive.

Don, I am glad you are staying positive about getting better. It is one of the most important factors for a full recovery. I know dealing with multiple doctors is frustrating especially if they are from another country like mine. I had a stroke 9 months ago and I can say I am back to almost 100%. I lost my earing which put me in a deep funk but luckily hearing aids have helped me regain the ability to have a conversation. Music is not the same it all sounds like the same person is singing. I pray for you daily to have a full recovery. You will get better.
