Just watched Leaonard run the 40. 4.49 secs. Listening to Eisen and Faulk made me want to puke. They just keep throwing that Fullback, Fullback, Fullback talk out there. They are definately selling him off on that position to anyone who will listen. They do not want him to be a TB.

The next guy up (black guy) ran a 4.52 and they said "Hey, thats good enough." I had to leave after that.

As long as Leonard doesn't listen and yea the guy he beat was Marshawn Lynch who is supposedly the second rb after adrian petersen.

That's an outstanding time for Leonard. Number one in benches and a sub 4.5 40 at his size, that's tremendous.

Notice how that chart has him listed as the only FB. All the rest are RB. The double standards really come out to play when watching the so called objective evaluations that make up the NFL combine. I'm glad in a way that I can't watch it.

I noticed that as well. After Leonards name they have (FB) in parenthesis.

The one guy stated "I may give Brian the benefit of the doubt and call him a tailback"

-maybe during the combine for cornerbacks, they will have (FS) in parenthesis after Weddles name on the board.

Mike Mayock is the one calling Brian a tailback. I've never been a fan of Mayock's as he's pretty reliably pro-Caste, but at least he's showing some fairness here. The rest are a bunch of ignoramuses and hypocrites.

Even in the "bad old days" of white quarterbacks only, could you imagine a Combine where a black specimen has a great combination of size, strength, speed, accuracy and proven productivity, but still is touted mainly for another position or otherwise has something in parenthesis after his name. The "FB" tag after Leonard's name might as well say ("White").

Draft Daddy is reporting a 4.49 for Leonard at the NFL combine.
Plus 28 reps on the bench press. Most of any of the backs I think.Edited by: jacknyc

well 4.49 is not bad at all! but it might be not fast enough for his haters typecasting him as a fullback...

Well, there's only a small handful of guys who ran faster.
Marshawn Lynch had the same time as Leonard.

It would be a crime if they force him to put a bunch of weight back on.Brian should run again at one of the Pro Days.He could probably get his time down a little more.We can only hope that some team has the courage to go against the grain and draft this kid at running back.Overall,he has had a good combine.

Which means that Lynch's time is more than fast enough to be a RB but Leonards will be "ok fast, but not explosive."
In other words, put some weight on son, you're going to be a glorified O-lineman that we may let touch the rock every once in a while.

He didn't do himself any favors saying he thought of himself as in the mold of Mike Alstott and Rob Konrad if he was trying to avoid being typecast as a fullback.

I watched this on NFL network and it was amazing sitting from the caste perspective.,

Vermeil kept saying during vertical jump test he should put 20 pounds on as "there is less competition at FB"

Then right before they ran the 40, Mayock said to Vermeil "ok, coach we will see here if he is what I think(RB) or a FB like you think" Leonard then ran the 40 and Eisen said after he ran what do you think he ran coach(Vermeil)" and Vermeil says "4.6 or 4.7"..

Eisen then says 4.49...I would be laughing my ass off if I didn't want to reach into the TV and slap Vermeil silly.

I would allow him to cry after this beating.

I like the fact that Brian Leonard let his actions speak louder then all of those damn idiots who won't even ackowledge that he is a great freaking football player who got screwed his senior year by some half ass little piss ant running back who wont even make an NFL roster mark my words. Leonard would have easily surpassed Rice's numbers had he been given the oppurtunity to be the feature back last year. To all of the nay sayers Leonard is bigger faster and stronger than Ray little boy rice to say he is not a better player than rice is simply freaking stupid as all day. All of these people who come on this site and bad mouth Leonard and of the other great disrespected white athletes can all go and take swimming lessons. I am really tired of the black athlete and other wise thinking they are simply the best players bar nun at every freaking position they are not. I am sorry but it pisses me off when players are always subjagated based solely on the cdolor of their skin and nothing else. If minorities want equality then give it back to us in every walk of life especially athletics if they are not willing to do that then I say the hell with all of them and there disfunctanal ways. Now who is with me we all need to stand with Brian and he takes his next step in his football career.

Leonard ran a 4.47 senior year of H.S. There is no reason to think he could not get it down to a 4.45 or so by Pro day. He has more time for good conditioning and less presure having already ran a 4.49 at the combine!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

To respond to Tarheel; the only reason Matt Jones was a first rounder is because he is the most freakish athlete over 6'3 ft tall in the history of the NFL. He has a TEs body and is 6'6 and runs like a CB. Now that he has been converted to an "unnatural white position" he is still being stigmatized for two bad drops on the season. He could be a Randy Moss type in his Minnesota days. All he would need is a good QB throwing to him (and Culpepper was a good QB in those two Career years he had, but partially because of Moss who he threw to 60% of the time according to Mike Tice). Also Terrell Owens had more then ten bad drops this season and is a cancer to his team yet will always be glorified!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Tar heel also said that Hass isn't fast enough. Ridiculous! Bolden runs a 4.7 so does Ernest Wilford. There are loads of good black receivers who run 4.6's with less credentials than Hass. Hass also had dominant performances at Pro day with an outstanding 3 cone drill showing route running ability and an above average verticle. Hass ran a 4.59 at the combine but posted times of 4.5 and two 4.58's at Proday! The same discrimination that black QB's used to face in the 60's and 70's is now used against capable whites at RB, WR, and CB. Stereotypes aren't always true...Luke Staley, Mike Alstott and Rob Konrad could have been all time greats, just like Warren Moon is and McNabb will be at QB. And I leave off tons of guys with potential but who never were given a chance to prove themselves (just read my screwed list at bottom). I keep ranting because I can't stand the ignorance.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

here's a little tidbit from dd.com:

"Rutgers running back Brian Leonard told every team he is a running back, not a fullback. He worked it that way. His cone scores were great for his size/speed ratio. A former Bills' scout told me Leonard reminds him of Ronnie Harmon. He's a valued prospect, but I see him going in round two. His best chance to go in round one is the Patriots. I think Cleveland really likes him a lot, too, and is trying to look disinterested. But their scouts were eyeballing him from a suite in his workouts"

Was glad to see that. I could care less what round or pick he goes, I just want him to go to a team where he can be the feature back..
