Hartline test very good at the combine in short area quickness. He won't burn anyone deep but is one of the fastest players in the NFL in short bursts. He could develop into a Wes Welker type.

Well he may not have burned the corners last night, but he separated from them enough to get the job done. I'm looking forward to watching Hartline and Pennington. The Dolphins certainly had more whites on their team compared to the racist looking Tampon bay.

Hartline was three steps in front of the black CB when he caught that long bomb and was a track star in high school. I think 4.4 speed in the forty is plenty fast enough. That's what he ran his last year with the Buckeyes.

I think I remember him having to stop to adjust to the ball one of the deep passes, dont remember if it was the one called back or not, so it may have looked like he didnt have the cb beat by that much. The same thing happened to him alot his last year, he had to stop and wait for those loopy throws by Pryor, usually giving the db time to adjust as well. I dont recall him being hit in stride that much last season.Edited by: dwid

I thought it was 4.55 when I watched it, and then a 4.49 at his pro day.

edit: It is listed as 4.58 for the combine for some reason I remember these results being different the week after the combine
I thought Collie ran a 4.5something and he is listed as a 4.63
and then Nate Swift who I thought ran a 4.64 is listed as 4.7

I know there are the unofficial results and they go back and look at it closely and readjust the time, the readjusted times are the ones I am talking about. I know they changed Hillis's 4.58 to 4.6somethingEdited by: dwid

If he's white, they go back and change it. I believe it was ToughJRiggins or Jimmy Chitwood who(both?)discovered and documented that crapola awile back.

Some good news for Brian Hartline. Hartline could be starting in Week 1! He's developed a nice groove with Chad Pennington. Hopefully, the two have really good seasons.

From Rotoworld:
According to Dolphins beat writer Armando Salguero, rookie WR Brian Hartline is going to start in Week 1.

Hartline hasn't actually been named the starter by the coaching staff, but he's started the last two games and played very well. It's a big surprise because Davone Bess was expected to line up across from Ted Ginn this season. We still think Bess can have a good PPR season out of the slot, but this is obviously a big blow. Hartline is looking like he might be worth a flier at the tail end of your draft.

Yes I have noticed rounding up of white players 40 times or the taking of their slowest of 2 or 3 runs. Danny Woodhead's 4.33/4.38 becomes a 4.38 or 4.4 on NFLdraftscout etc. That site also changed Hillis' time of 4.58 to 4.64 about 7-9 months after the fact.

Collie is listed at 4.56 on FFtoolbox and NFLdraftscout. Hartline is listed at 4.52 on those sites. Hartline had a .42 agility mark though which was 1st place for agility alongside Nate Swift. Also, Collie had a .33 mark which is tied for 5th, but would have been first if you counted his 4.08 short shuttle at his Pro Day instead (short shuttles aren't affected by a "track" the same way 40 times are affected between locations). Eric Peterman would have been tied for 4th, (4.45(40)-4.08(SS)=.37 agility mark) if invited to the Combine. Andrew Means was slightly above average as well for his agility measurement. You can see the results here:

White Men Are Indeed Agile And Quick

I'd love it if some people on this site could research other years b/c we'd probably see that the few whites reported on tested by NFL scouts outdo blacks in short area quickness (as far as the X-Y plane agility) measurements on average every single year.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

According to Rotoworld, Hartline appears to have the Week 1 starting job wrapped up.

Rookie Brian Hartline continued to run as the Dolphins' first-team flanker at Sunday's practice.

Hartline appears to have this job wrapped up, at least to start the season. Davone Bess will work as the starting slot man in three-receiver sets. Greg Camarillo is the fourth receiver, and rookie Patrick Turner is the fifth.

More good news for Brian. He can lock up the job with a strong final preseason game.

From Rotoworld:
Rookie Brian Hartline can lock up the Dolphins' No. 2 receiver job with a strong preseason finale, according to the Miami Herald.

Davone Bess will need to pull a rabbit out of his hat to pass Hartline at this point. The rookie leads Fins wideouts in preseason yards per catch (21.4).

Well if Bess pulls a black rabbit out of his hat, then...

Bess is a good shifty slot type WR, but I think Greg Camarillo (if he's fully recovered) is almost as good in the slot role as Bess. But..Camarillo has more ability to slide over and play outside WR if need be with his 4.6 flat speed and larger size than Bess' who is pretty small (I believe Bess only ran a 4.64/4.67 40 at the Combine- so Camarillo probably has a slight long speed edge). Camarillo is stronger as well and is better on a jump ball, but from what I've seen Bess has a small edge in short area quickness in and out of his breaks on the short routes.

Probably the best case scenario for us might be Camarillo and Bess splitting time in the third WR role based on match ups. Ginn can play X or Y, Hartline can play all 3 spots and is the most versatile, Camarillo can play Y or Z and Bess is more of a Z (slot) specialist. I highly doubt Miami will put Bess back in the 4th spot. Two whites in the top three wideouts just stirs things up too much.

There is absolutely no hope for white players. From Rotoworld:

"Davone Bess caught five passes for 39 yards against the Saints Thursday night.

Bess and Greg Camarillo started with Tedd Ginn in a three-wide receiver set. Rookie Brian Hartline, who went without, didn't play until the second unit came on and immediately dropped a pass from Chad Henne. Dolphins coaches are still waiting for a No. 2 receiver to step up and grab the job. Bess may win by default."

Just this week, we were told that Hartline had been running with the first team and had pretty much locked up the starting job. So why was he put into the last preseason game with the second unit? Does anyone even question this stuff, except the posters here? In the face of this blatant discrimination, I defy anyone to be optimistic.

It's the same process that enabled rookie/thug Bernard Scott to one day be the number three RB on the Bengals and the next to have "locked up" the number two job over former star college back and recent second round draft choice Brian Leonard, according to the anti-white, Orwellian media. The DWFs never question it because they assume that white players at any position other than QB aren't as good as their black counterparts.

they should look at who Bess was going against. They were mainly just throwing to whoever was lined up against Malcom Jenkins, a rookie CB who ran a 4.56 and doesn't look that quick either. He has looked lost this preseason and out of position. If he were White he would be lucky to be a safety with his measurables.

Maybe they were just resting him, or wanted to see how other talented players did with the first offense. Hartline has played well enough to earn a spot on the team and we must use our positive energy to help him get there.

Hartline should be the starting Split-End over Ginn. Blazing speed doesn't make a WR alone- as evidenced by Ginn's two key drops- and Hartline is just fast enough for the X role. Ginn has made key drops each time I've watched him on my big screen. Put Camarillo as the Flanker and Bess as the Slot man (just use Ginn rarely on straight deep fly routes and maybe kick returns) and you'd have a heck of a receiving corps!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

i gotta say, Hartline is pretty fast but Camarillo looked slow on a couple of catches. i think he's still feeling his lingering injury effects, hopefully he will shake it off soon.

Ginn not only has bad hands, but he specializes in drops at key times. I even heard DWFs booing him yesterday after a drop. In fact I heard DWFs booing a number of drops yesterday. Are they finally getting fed up with receivers who can't "receive"?

Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Ted Ginn will see reduced playing time going forward.

Ginn is back in Bill Parcells' doghouse, and Mort says that if the trade deadline had been tomorrow instead of last week, the Fins would have been dialing up the Ravens to dump him off on the man that drafted him: Cam Cameron. Now Miami is stuck with him. Rookie Brian Hartline will likely see most of Ginn's snaps going forward.

Could then Miami actually have two white starters at the WR position? I can't remember the last time I saw that.

I am not sure that I have ever seen it for any team in my lifetime on a consistent basis in the NFL. I am trying to think hard if there was a team consistently starting two whites at receiver in my time watching, but I am drawing a blank. Edited by: Bear Backer

This is certainly very good news. I was reading an article on ESPN.com about this, and it pointed to another article in a Miami newspaper, which basically rips Ginn for his poor play, and suggests that Hartline should see more playing time.

But, you then look at the comments section, and all you see is typical DWFs with their clueless suggestions. "Play Bess more", "Time to think about drafting a couple of guys next year", "Bring in Joey Galloway", etc, etc. These morons not once referred to Hartline or Camarillo. The solution to Miami's WR problem can be taken care of very easily in house. You have two solid white WRs who should be starting, plus TE Fasano, and Bess.

It's truly remarkable how stupid and brainwashed the DWFs are, and how they are completely conditioned to ignore virtually all white skill players.

Only a slight degree of difference from mindlessly suggesting that Ricky Proehl be brought in.

A "snow patrol" at WR? Wow! Would bring back memories of when the Rams were starting Adam Archuleta and Mike Furrey at safety. Or the the Chargers with Weddle and Gregory -- but better. Not to mention the Saints LBs of two years ago.

Every time we see one of these "taboo" demographics at a position it's a little victory. In this case, Camarillo's double identity -- is he White or is he so-called hispanic -- helps ease the way to playing the two most qualified receivers, if that's what the Dolphins "dare" to do.Edited by: Don Wassall
