Bizarre he never escaped D2 via the portal in college. He is a huge QB, especially when compared to Tagilova and Penix. It is a long shot but I hope he has a solid preseason and makes the roster.
 
Agreed. No offense to Cooper Rush, but I like Strand’s upside in the long run here! He should be able to lock that number 3 job down.

I don't think it can be denied that Strand was certainly a steal as an UDFA. He has jumped up from D2 to playing against NFL players in a matter months and has looked better than many veteran QBs around the league. He's physically more talented than both QBs in front of him (both were high first round picks and neither has performed at a level higher than average).

Strand has also benefitted due to the fact both Tagiolova and Penix are injury prone. He received most of the reps in the offseason program and early in training camp.
