Thielen is one of those guys you can get for nothing in Fantasy Football. Most white guys have never heard of him and the "projections" are always biased against him. He is at worst a #2 receiver that frequently puts up #1 numbers, yet you will have guys drafting #3's from other teams and unproven rookies. You'd think Welker/Edelman/Nelson/Decker would have enlightened the masses that white receivers can be great fantasy guys but it still seems like good white receivers never get their due.

Was just checking a prominent fantasy site's projections for Week 2, and they have Stefon Diggs as their 8th ranked receiver, and Thielen as 41st. It never fails to amaze how slow DWFs, including paid fantasy football "experts," are to recognize White talent at positions other than QB and TE even after they produce time and again (including White defensive players). And even at QB and TE the default mode is always to expect greatness from blacks while being leery toward Whites.

Thielen helped me solidify a week one win. Gronk, Decker and Burkhead did not contribute much to my team ( since 2010 my fantasy teams have been all white - I do draft black players and keep them on the bench just so I don't have to oppose them).

His performance on Monday night was superb and it looks like Bradford has built a rapport with him. I attribute the small victories at wr to Wes Welker - he was a true trailblazer to get white WRs back on NFL and college teams. I only hope that his successors like Thielen and Kupp are able to continue the ripple effect.

According to the Vikings, Thielen has more receiving yards than any NFL player since Week 14 of last season. In the past five games, Thielen has 467 yards, including a career day of 12 catches for 202 yards in Week 16 last December at Green Bay.

Thielen also seems like a winner in his personal life. At 27, he's happily married with a young child. A young, religious, family-oriented, light-haired German guy from a small town in Minnesota who played DII football, wasn't invited to the combine, wasn't drafted, was only discovered at an "open tryout," then cut, then signed to the practice squad where he waited for one of their "real" WR's to get injured, then promoted to the active roster, then earned his stripes playing special teams, then forced into WR duty (again after injuries to the "real" WRs), then became a superstar and signed a $19,000,000 contract. What a nightmare for our enemies. After this season, I think he'll be considered one of the best players in the NFL...

Racist first sentence to this article that gives Thielen a backhanded compliment. Anyone who's watched Thielen play knows he's a deep threat. Oh that's right, he has "deceptive" speed, or is it "sneaky" speed, or in this case the best the writer can say is that he "isn't slow."

I think what his coach really means is as follows: Thielan is a speedster who knows how to get open, actually catch the ball unlike most negro receivers and outrun the negro db's to the endzone. For those of you who are not familiar that is coach speak code lol

Most schools and teams do not look at them as having a chance to play these racially dominated positions simply due to false stereotypes. Jordy Nelson is one of the few guys that has got a chance from early on. Most guys never due or have to wait years and years to get a chance. Thielen is in the right place at the right time. I see him easliy eclipsing 1000 yards and hopefully having a very long & productive career!

Jordy had to earn his spot, and most of his breakout came at the expense of the Steelers secondary in the Super Bowl. He spent his first three years as a backup/3rd down receiver.

He is 6'2 and 200 pounds. He runs a 4.45. Provided water under the bridge doesn't cry himself back onto the field, he should put up league-leading numbers this year.

Guys I'm afraid Teddy Break water is going to get back in this season (even after Keenum has shown excellent chemistry with the offense and especially with Adam Thielen), which will derail the Vikings run for a deep season playoff spot.

Break water almost lost his leg to a non-contact injury and has been out for over a year, but he's prowling the sidelines (helmet strapped on) ready to save his team that continues to win despite his non-participation.

Little Teddy and perhaps the coaching staff want him to re-assume his role as the quotablack and face of the team, even after Case Keenum has been on a winning streak, and posting a career 4 TD win against a hearty Redskins defense.

Yeah coach Zimmer, now would be a great time for a quarterback change. On the bright side, Teddy will almost assuredly break himself again!

The curious case of Teddy Bridgewater: why does this guy get the red carpet treatment? Coming out of Louisville, he was hyped as a potential number 1 overall pick until a disastrous pro day and poor measurables dropped him to the last pick of the first round. He is small, unathletic, with small hands and poor arm strength. Nevertheless, he was gifted the starting job and delivered two extremely mediocre seasons, even though he had Adrian Peterson and an excellent defense. At best, he can be an average to below average NFL quarterback. I’m sensing that the Vikings are “too White” and their success will not be tolerated.

Zimmer has really screwed his team. Case should have been announced the starter the rest of the season with Teddy as back-up and ready to compete for the starting job next year. Now he is in jeopardy of his black players quitting on him if he doesn't pick Teddy. In the meantime, Case will not be allowed to have a single bad game. Great post. I think someone mentioned that Bridgewater is in the final year of his contract to as they did not sign his 5th year option so their is no incentive to play him. Keenum is playing really good football and has an obvious rapport with Thielen. Zimmer has indeed mismanaged this situation.

His acceleration is really impressive, among many other great qualities he has. As soon as he makes the catch he's almost instantly at top speed.

He has become one of the most productive receivers in the NFL, even with a "third string" QB throwing to him. He was 6-2, 200 lbs and ran a 4.5 40 coming out of college. Yet he wasn't considered a prospect coming out of college and wasn't recruited to play D1. That seems strange. How could that possibly be?

Perhaps now Thielen will get the same respect his peer Jordy Nelson gets as a deep threat. On a site note, when Chris Hogan has been healthy has been everything when you think of a deep threat. It doesn't seem like he gets that recognition yet.

I can't be too upset with Zimmer, as he's the only coach who gave Thielen a chance to play in the NFL and even started him over two former 1st round picks (Treadwell and Floyd) on the roster. He also coaches a team that starts a white QB (Keenum), a white TE (Rudolph), a white WR (Thielen), an all-white OL (once Mike Remmers returns next week), and three whites on defense (Gideon, Sendejo, and Smith).

Keenum has won 5 straight games (the last two of which were blow-outs) and orchestrated a 6th victory in a blow-out of the Bucs in Week #3. He's essentially only had one poor performance (no TD's or INT's) against the Lions in Week #4. I think the Vikings will continue to win and Bridgewater will never regain his starting position. Bridgewater is in the final year of his contract anyway and Vikings declined his 5th year option this past summer...

I'd love to see Thielen and Keenum become like Rodgers and Nelson or Brady and Edelman. Both guys are similar in age (27 and 29), are religious, and are married men. I can see why they've become fast friends.
