I don't have an answer to this question as it just came into my head last night.
Does having an elite rb/athlete like Christian McCaffrey come into the NFL help the caste.us cause for other up and coming white football prospects or hurt them?
For a long time now I always thought that would help break the mold of recruiters and colleges that stereotype white athletes.
I find myself looking at high school and college football athletes in videos and keep saying to myself , " well he is talented but he is no McCaffrey ." I just did this yesterday looking at a 2013 high school combine featuring Oregon State rb, Ryan Nall. He really looked slow and tight and just highly uncoordinated. I realized that in the back of my head I had seen CM's NFl combine video and it is just breathtaking. I have seen enough OSU footage of Nall that he is cleary fst and very quick and very coordinated with his footwork , even for such a big back.
Because McCaffrey is breakiing the stereotype of the white rb are coaches and recruiters going to now compare ALL white rb's coming up to Christian? And if they do not measure up ( as 99.9 % of black rbs don't either ) do they just get passed on as they traditionally have over the last 40 years or so?
