2025 NFL Week 7

tis amazing how poor the overall receiving and defensive backs are in the NFL. I can't count how many dropped passes and PI penalties I witnessed today. Not putting the PI on Moss just horrible across the board.

Glad I caught the SNF game. Made up for all the crappy football I watched all day. CMC getting back on track was a joy.

Sills is getting the Luke McCaffrey treatment. I don't think he has had a target. Apparently in to block from the wide receiver position.

Indeed. I feel like I needed a shot of joy. It was long overdue for Christian, since he didn’t record any last season.

Nice to see Raheem’s Chocolate Dreem Teem flop big in Prime Time against a banged up 49ers team with their backup quarterback.

Great performance by McCaffrey. Still has a shot at 1k rush yards. Mac Jones is 4-1 as starter, he played well tonight.

I really regret not watching the 4th quarter of the Broncos game. Not gonna lie bros, I'm absolutely terrified of Bakey tomorrow night

This one game will have a measurable effect on McCaffrey’s HOF chances.

Leo, crunched the numbers:

Christian currently is on pace for 1,130 yards rushing this season. Solid.

His receiving projections are amazing for a RB: 130 receptions for 1,243 yards

Gator, if Christian stays healthy and plays at his current pace, this season will mean his Hall of Fame selection is 99% assured!

P.S.: I didn't watch a second of Cowboys/Redskins game, for obvious reasons. I see ESPN types are scared RG IV's injury will mean an IR stint?
RG IV's mom hates the comparison. Apparently, she's a certified NFLPA agent.

He will reach it. The offense is heating up. He will put together another 2-3 100 yard efforts plus a handful of. 75+ ones.

The question is (and I believe we may see it) will he record a second-career 1000-1000 yard season?

I’d like to highlight 1 player on the otherwise dark Falcons. 2nd year linebacker JD Bertrand out of Notre Dame appears to have made his 1st NFL start. To no one’s surprise at CF, Bertrand was tied for the team lead with 10 total tackles.

FT, J.D. came into the contest when the great Divine Deablo was injured. Was drafted in 2021 (3rd rd). I never knew who he was until tonight. Name stuck out to me. Upon a Google search, he's named after Native American family members. Deablo might be out for a while, so J.D. might get some chances. Assuming Raheem doesn't bring in some scrub to start, via waivers or trade?

By the way, whatever happened to freaky athletic LB Troy Anderson? I assume he's still injured?

I think Kittle lit some fire under oline asses. Difference was staggering! What a game by CMC!
He must have! The line actually looked pretty good run blocking and Kittle was dominating the line of scrimmage as well. Good to have him back. Maybe a few catches next week.

That is wild…

I agree, prevent defense is an abysmal way to play. All it does it allow big yardage gains and often prevents the team using it… from winning.
Although this is the general rule when a team goes into a "prevent" with a fair amount of time on the clock, in this instance a properly-played prevent should have worked for a halfway-competent or prepared defense.

The whole idea is to keep everything beyond 10 yards covered and only allow really shallow stuff. This then effectively burns the remaining time off of the clock. Giants however are neither competent or prepared.

During the broadcast Aunt Chrissie and the “Italian” Tirico actually mentioned how the 49ers changed up the blocking scheme moving away from the zone blocking to power running. It was actually a very good observation/talking point.

McCaffery had some really great lanes to run through so hopefully they stick with this.

I will say it is nice to see Robinson sprinkled in there to give McCaffrey some breathers. I think it is clear CMC is superior, but doing so will lesson some of the wear and tear on him, while also keeping the defense honest.
I agree.

Now if only the Eagles would use Shipley like the 49ers use Robinson.

Modern "prevent" defenses keep allowing 20-25 yard completions and only cover 40+ yard super deep balls. I've seen it over and over in the New, Exciting Era of Football (TM). The Giants were just the latest (and a particularly egregious) example.

Barkley is averaging just 3.3 yards per rush this season and has only 369 yards through 7 games compared to 2,005 in 16 games last year (he sat out the last game), so he may well have peaked big time last season. He also has a notable injury history, so the Eagles may have to start using Shipley whether they want to or not.

That's exactly what happened. A 29 yard pass and then a 23 yard pass that took the Broncos to the 20 yard line for a relatively easy field goal. Just an epic 4th quarter defensive collapse.

Rumors are that Daboll fired the defensive coordinator which was deserved. Daboll’s decisions were the biggest reason for this historical upset though.

The optics of the Giants defense compared to the offense are notable too. Dart had an exciting if uneven performance, Skattebo was Skattebo and Bellinger emerged after being used as a blocking TE. Meanwhile the Giants coal defense lost them the game.

The bogus PI call on Moss still bugs me today. There was plenty of awful defensive back play this week (Steelers - bengals off the top of my head). Like @Jimmy Chitwood mentioned our guys are so rare they are all under the microscope so very bad calls like this will just add fuel to the fire of low IQ fans.

I hope you're prediction is right TT, but there are other RB's with as good if not better credentials that are not in the HOF. Roger Craig comes to mind.
He should've been a lock for the HOF. Craig the first RB to go 1,000 yds. rushing/1,000 yards receiving. Over 13,000 total yards receiving and rushing, including more rushing yards than HOFer

Larry Czonka and a 3-time Super Bowl Champion. I think CMAC will have to go over 10,000 rushing yards, He could do it if he stays healthy another 3-4 years.

I get that is the idea, but even when I played prevent continually allowed for large gains and offense could quickly cover the length of the field.

Yeah, the prevent defense is really tough to pull off with all these mobile quarterbacks now. If the line doesn’t contain the edges and control the line of scrimmage these quarterbacks can pick up huge chunks of yardage and run out of bounds easily against the prevent.

Mahomes has killed teams playing prevent In the playoffs. It seems like all these defensive ends rush way outside and he just cuts in between the D end and the interior tackle picks up huge chunks of yards. The only team that was really able to stop ihim in the playoffs was the Bengals with Frederickson and Hubbard a few years back.
